  1. Animal Crossing 100% FAQ - Coldeggman:
  2.
  3. Q: Where is the background music???
  4. A: I disabled the music because the game won't have to load the music anymore so therefore the loading screens are faster. You disable the music using a 7F command in a Nook code. I don't know a whole lot about the 7F commands but basically you can make codes do certain dialog things and some functions like max katrina money fortune, disabling the music, and some other random dialog you can trigger. But the music being disabled is the main 7F command we are using here.

  6. Q: What does "one handed typing" mean?
  7. A: One handed typing means whenever I need to search for something in the hundo helper, I only use one hand to type for it. This is so I won't have to stop every time I want to type something in. Basically, I'm playing with one hand a lot when cataloging or digging up stuff.

  9. Q: What does the "acre documentation" mean?
  10. A: There is a spreadsheet made by BrianMp16 that documents what all the acres look like, and what the tree totals are for each acre. This is important so that I won't have to count the number of trees in each acre. If you want to check it out, join the AC Modding Discord here: https://discord.gg/HcpymVA and go to the #programs channel and scroll up until you find "ACTownMap.xlsm". You can open it with Google Sheets if you don't have Excel btw.

  12. Q: What does "goods power" mean?
  13. A: Goods power has something to do with your item luck. (I don't really know the specifics of it) To max this out, you need to place 10 special items in your house. There's a list of the special items, as well as feng shui stuff, can be found here: https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/gamecube/516502-animal-crossing/faqs/19640
  14.
  15. Q: What do "villager codes" mean?
  16. A: Villager codes are when you send a letter to a villager in your town with a code, then a few days later you'll receive a present with what the item code was. This is important to the speeedrun since whenever you get a letter, the stationery it was will be added to your catalog, so there is no need to buy the stationery at nooks. (well, other than to write to villagers)
  17.
  18. Q: Why am I getting a random NES game sometimes from villager codes?
  19. A: This is because every villager code is tied to a certain villager. If you have that villager in your town, that villager will have a chance of sending you a random NES game instead of the item listed. This is why I redid a ton of the villager codes (and even added a lot of new ones since I figured out how to generate villager codes) and the villager that is tied to like 95% of these codes is Lucky. If I do get this villager in my town, I'll just not talk to him until the end of the run. This is also why Extra Bridge is towards the end of the run instead of the middle.

  21. Q: How did you generate villager codes?
  22. A: I used the code generator to do it. So what I did was I decoded the villager codes I had in my old list, until one of them displayed the correct item, rather than "Undefined". I then went to the generator, put in the exact same town/player name, selected the correct code type (for this, it was code type 40, which was one of the Contest code types), checked "Override Checksum" and put "03". Doing all that will display the exact same decoded info from the item I had in the old list. I then selected the same item as before, and went to find the same code I decoded. I do this to verify this is a valid villager code. Then all I had to do was select another item I wanted, and that was it. The villager tied to this specific code I selected was Lucky. Lucky is a move in only villager (meaning you can't ever start with him) so I figured it was the best choice for this.

  24. Q: What is "Keyboard Switching"?
  25. A: Keyboard Switching is when you press Z, the keyboard switches to the ABC layout. This is useful since you won't have to move around the keyboard as much with only QWERTY. However, it is very hard to do optimally so I had to practice this a lot.
  26.
  27. Q: Why are you doing another run?
  28. A: Because I want to improve the WR a bit more with these new strats. Also, I'm h.
