  1. Saint Anon
  2. >On the outskirts of a peaceful town of colorful talking equines lay a rather dark and foreboding forest
  3. >Few of the natives dared to bold this region, for even the bravest of ponies quailed in terror when faced with the terrors that lie in.... The Everfree Forest.
  4. >Which made it seem all the stranger when a certain timid yellow pony was to be found roaming its dark interior late at night
  5. >Off to visit some rare creature or other, Fluttershy was no stranger to the dangers that lurked within the forest.
  6. >Usually she knew the safest routes through the forest
  7. >And the few truly dangerous creatures that called the forest home knew better than to cross her path
  8. >Tonight was no different as she slowly trotted her way home, having finished her visit.
  9. >In high spirits, she was less aware of her surroundings than usual, focused more on what she would make to eat for her pet bunny
  10. >Any other time it might have proven a fatal mistake, seeing as she was being stalked by a group of Timberwolves
  11. >But events were occurring elsewhere that would soon disrupt the balance of power within Equestria
  12. >Just as Fluttershy had reached a small clearing at the edge of the forest, the timberwolves moved into position around her, ready to strike at any second.
  13. >It seemed as if destiny conspired against them that fateful night.
  14. BOOM!
  15. >Just as they sprung their ambush, a thunderous crack filled the air as lightning surged down from the sky in a terrifying display of power, striking the ground less than 100 feet from the wolves location
  16. >The forest was briefly illuminated, revealing the panicked wolves as they quickly fled deeper into the woods
  17. >For her part, Fluttershy, after giving a small squeak of fright, immediately took off galloping towards her home as fast as her little hooves could take her.
  18. >Had she stayed a moment longer, she would have seen the odd creature lying at the lightning strikes’ point of impact
  19. >A bipedal, hairless, ape, face down in the dirt, either unconscious, or fast asleep.
  20. -------------------//---------
  21. >Clad only in a plain, somewhat tattered red garb, you shivered slightly in the cool night air.
  22. >You started twisting and thrashing in your sleep, caught up in a terrible nightmare
  23. >Your brothers, not of blood, but born of battle lie at your side, broken.
  24. >You look down, and see your hands stained......with their blood.
  25. >You look around, and see a familiar princess, her face twisted in horror at the sight of you
  26. >You take a tentative step towards her, palms open in a display of peace.
  27. >It's no use, as she takes off running; you sprint to catch up to her, her purple hair swaying in front of your face
  28. >As you get closer, the edges of your view begin to fade, and an ominous deep laughter fills your ears
  29. >As you reach her, she spins around, and a bright flash of light overtakes you
  30. >You wake up with a start, the nightmare quickly fading from memory, awoken by the shaft of light that's piercing through the canopy overhead and is shining square on your face.
  31. >You take a moment to clear your eyes, dazed by the bright sunlight as you start to examine your surroundings.
  32. >You’re in a forest of some sort, that much is clear, but it's a forest that you don't recognize
  33. >You don't remember walking here, you think to yourself as you stand up
  34. >Now that you think about it, you don't remember ANYTHING.
  35. >You don't even remember who you are, let alone why you’re here in some dark forest.
  36. >You slowly stand up, trying not to panic, as you try to recall anything that might explain why your here
  37. >As you struggle to come up with something, anything, which might give you some indication as to who, or what you are, a name materializes from the haze shrouding your mind.
  38. Anonymous....Human
  39. >"Anonymous", you whisper to yourself, "I'm.... Anonymous"
  40. >That's as far as you get before your head is split by violent images of blood and destruction, each more dreadful than the last.
  41. >You lay there, clutching your head in agony as the strange visions raked through your mind, leaving nothing but pain in their wake
  42. >After a couple of minutes the pain subsides leaving you gasping for air.
  43. >You begin to slowly get up, more cautiously this time, so as to not relapse into.....whatever that was.
  44. >Just then you hear a sudden growling coming from somewhere behind you
  45. >You slowly turn around to take a peek, and sure enough, three sets of glowing green eyes are staring at you from behind some thick foliage
  46. >You start to slowly back away, seeing as how you have no weapons nearby, when the creatures leap from their hiding spots.
  47. >What appear to be....Wolves? you manage to recall, covered in some kind of tree bark snarl at you, starting to form a semi-circle around you
  48. >You lift your arms up, knowing that the situation is hopeless, but damn it all if you weren't going down without a fight
  49. >As if on cue, all three...Timber Wolves attack as one, aiming for your throat
  50. >Time seems to slow to a blur, as your overworked mind lets your body take center stage, letting it run purely on instinct
  51. >Your body is a blur, a whirling tornado of flying fists and whirling kicks
  52. >It’s over in an instant
  53. >You blink and look around, fists still raised, when you realize all three wolves are lying on the ground, unconscious
  54. >You simply stare at them in confusion, a look of uncertainty plain on your face
  55. >What the hell just happened?
  56. >One moment you were getting ready to meet your maker, the next you’re standing around, without a scratch, and your three opponents knocked senseless
  57. >You decide to not push your luck, lest they wake up, and turn around, looking for a way out of the forest
  58. >you take your bearings once more, still lightly holding your head, as you set off for what appears to be a trail through the forest
  59. >You follow the trail for a short while, hoping to find an exit to this gloomy place.
  60. >Your faith was well deserved, as you see a gap up ahead between the thick walls of trees.
  61. >You start walking faster as you clear the last of the trees, eager to put the darkness behind you.
  62. >You take another moment to evaluate where you are.
  63. >You see nothing but rolling hills, with the exception of what appears to be... a tree house?
  64. >No, seriously, an actual house that seems to have been made from a large tree!
  65. >What strange architecture, you think to yourself before, nevertheless, heading off in its direction.
  66. >As you get closer, it becomes apparent that whoever lives here must be some sort of animal lover.
  67. >Why else would they have so many different kinds?
  68. >There's everything, from chickens and rabbits, to even strange brightly colored creatures that you'd never seen before.
  69. >As you crest another hill, you get close enough to see that no one is home
  70. >You decide to go around and see if they might be in the back
  71. >As you near the corner of the giant tree-house, you're met with the sight of a very strange looking....horse?
  72. >It's front hooves are pressed against a rather old and rotted tree as it appears to be looking up at something in the branches
  73. >No, it's far too small to be a horse, you muse to yourself.
  74. >You may not remember who you are, but even you know that horses aren't bright yellow, or have wings.....wait…….wat?
  75. >You squint as you slowly sneak closer, trying to make sure your eyes aren't deceiving you.
  76. >They weren't.
  77. >With a bright coat of sunshine-yellow, and a flowing pink mane, this creature was unlike any you had ever seen.
  78. >you step closer, trying to see if those really were wings
  79. >Well, fancy that! It does have wings!
  80. >You try to sneak a bit closer, as it seems a bit preoccupied with whatever is in the branches
  81. >Your observations are interrupted as the hors-err....pony? Suddenly starts talking!
  82. >??:"Angel-bunny, please get down from there."
  83. >Your jaw drops to the ground as you try to comprehend the magnitude of such a thing.
  84. >A talking pony?!? Is that even possible?
  85. >You don't know where you came from, but you were willing to bet your left foot that it sure as hell didn't have talking p0nies.
  86. >Especially one with a voice as soft and delicate sounding as hers'
  87. >Because that voice was definitely very feminine
  88. >??:"I promise I'll have your favorite snack ready if you just get down."
  89. >You stop staring at her like a slack-jawed idiot, long enough to notice a white bunny stamping its foot down and shaking its head in anger, perched on a rather large branch.
  90. >Was she seriously communicating with it?
  91. >So, what, was every animal species here sentient?
  92. >As you pondered these things, you were slowly getting closer to the arguing duo
  93. >The bunny was growing more and more irate with each bargaining attempt made.
  94. >At this point, he was actually hopping mad, little jets of steam shooting from his ears
  95. >What few leaves that were left on the decrepit tree had quickly been shaken off
  96. CRACK
  97. >Suddenly, after a particularly violent jump stomp, a snapping noise is clearly heard coming from the branch the "angel bunny" was hopping on
  98. >The tree must have been REALLY old, if one of the thicker branches was snapping due to a little bunnies'' weight.
  99. >??:"Oh no! Angel bunny get down from there before you hurt yourself!"
  100. >With some foresight, the bunny finally leaps off the branch, before it could fall off, coming to a halt right in front of you
  101. >The yellow pony turns around to see where her bunny landed, as the branch lets out another cracking noise
  102. >The little mare goes to move out of the way, but as soon as she sees you, she lets out a little "eek" of surprise, rooted to the spot with what appears to be surprise and shock
  103. >She is so preoccupied with you that she forgets about the large branch hanging precariously over her head.
  104. >You, on the other hand, do not and get closer to try to move her out of the way
  105. >As soon as you start walking towards her, she panics, bolting in fear
  106. >Since she's not looking at where she's going, when she does this, she ends up crashing head first into the old tree!
  107. >The impact shakes the whole tree, and the little mare falls backwards, stunned from the blow.
  108. CRAAAAACK
  109. >With a sickening snap, the large tree branch falls off, heading directly for the little pony
  110. >You start running towards her, hoping to reach her in time
  111. >You realize you won't make it.
  112. >Your eyes widen as you realize what's about to happen.
  113. >Gods be damned if you would let such a thing occur
  114. >Time seems to slow down around you as you sprint towards the dazed mare
  115. >You know that at most, you'll end up crushed along with her
  116. >Images of a smushed little pony fill your mind.
  117. >Along with visions from your past.
  118. >Brief flashes of a long-forgotten memory
  119. >Glimpses of torrential rain, a young man standing in front of a mountain of boulders
  120. >A strange blue energy covering his entire body
  121. Your own body starts to glow with a similar power
  122. >He readies his power infused arm, then gives the mountain of rocks the uppercut of his life
  123. You pull your own arm back, swiftly delivering a powerful uppercut of your own to the falling tree branch, just as it was about to reach the yellow mare
  124. >In a bright flash of energy, three quarters of the mountain are blown away
  125. Your own blow disintegrates the thick branch, literally destroying its very atoms in a blinding surge of light accompanied by a roar of noise, which leaves your ears ringing and eyes stinging
  126. >The young man falls to his knees, as the water that the dam had been previously diverting starts flowing again.
  127. >Just before the crushing mass of water overtakes him, a man clad in thick golden armor appears, picking him up and carrying him off to safety.
  128. >You’re watching all this take place many years ago, as a small child hidden behind some trees
  129. >On that day you swore you would become just as inspirational as Him.
  130. You're wrenched back to reality as the light dissipates, leaving you staring in shock at your hands, noticing with somewhat detached interest that the glow is starting to fade from them.
  131. >A single question surfaces through your muddled mind
  132. >How?
  133. >As you try to piece together what might've given rise to these strange new powers, your face is left with a perplexed look on it, your mouth hanging slightly open
  134. >You quickly realize what you're doing, close your mouth and take a step back, looking down at the cowering little pony, wanting to make sure she's safe
  135. >She stops shivering long enough to look over her shoulder, giving out a small gasp as she sees the state of the tree.
  136. >You also look back at the tree, the blood draining from your face, when you see that you've also destroyed most of the upper half of the tree
  137. >If your blow had missed its mark, that could've easily happened to the pony in front of you!
  138. >The mare now stood before you, staring at you in confusion
  139. >By now, you’re only a few feet from her, close enough to see that her eyes, or what you can see of them from behind her curtain of pink hair, are a lustrous jade.
  140. >They hold you mesmerized for a brief moment, broken when she takes a tentative step towards you
  141. >You instinctively take a step back, looking at the forest, as you're of half a mind to leave
  142. >Before you can make up your mind however, the little yellow pony speaks up, her voice barely more than a whisper, yet delicate like...well you don't really have much to compare it to, seeing as how you can barely remember your name.
  143. >"W-wait! Please don't go." You stop mid-step, not trusting yourself to look at her, “I W-wanted to thank you for saving me." she stammers out
  144. >You’re sure you just misheard her, as you stare at her in confusion
  145. >Didnt she just see what you almost did to her? Why wasn’t she running away screaming?
  146. >"D-do you have a n-name?" She timidly asks you, interrupting your train of thought
  147. >Still amazed at the fact that she hasn't just galloped away you decide to answer
  148. >"My name is...Anonymous, I...you aren’t afraid of me?"
  149. >Her eyes widen a little bit at this, as if she just realized how she'd been acting previously, and half hides her face between that curtain of pink hair, a single eye still staring at you intently, but with less….apprehension
  150. >"O-oh no, you just s-startled me is all, I didn't mean to make you uncomfortable. It's just that I've never seen a creature like you before!"
  151. >A creature like you? What about her?! She was a talking pony for crying out-loud!
  152. >That reminded you, where were you that a person such as yourself would seem so strange to a colorful talking equine?
  153. >And what was said equines name anyway?
  154. "Excuse me, but I didn't quite catch your name."
  155. "O-oh, my name is Fluttershy"
  156. >What a fitting name...
  157. >"Well Fluttershy, where am I?"
  158. >Fluttershys' face scrunches up in a cute display of confusion as she answers
  159. >"U-um, well this land is called Equestria and this place right here is my house, which lies next to the Everfree Forest over there. Didnt you already know that?"
  160. >"I..uh don't really know much of anything right now, the last thing I can remember is a bright flash of light, then waking up in that Everfree Forest"
  161. >Fluttershy gains a look of growing dismay on her face as you then recount what occurred immediately after you tried to remember exactly how you got there, as well as your departure from the forest, and subsequent arrival at her house.
  162. >"Wow, that is quite a story mister Anonymous, you must be tired though."
  163. >"Please, just Anon will do, and I am feeling somewhat drained after this rather surprising, and confusing, turn of events."
  164. >"W-well you can stay and rest at my house for the night, i-if you d-don't mind that is"
  165. >You smile at the sincerity in her voice, realizing that, despite the rough introduction, she genuinely didn't mind being around you
  166. "Well, how can I say no to such a beautiful mare, please lead the way miss Fluttershy"
  167. >Fluttershy blushed a little at the compliment; no pony had ever called her beautiful like that before, a small smile growing on her face as she led the way to her house
  168. >You’re too busy going over the days’ events, as the sun abruptly lowers over the horizon, to notice
  169. >Just what was that energy that had exploded within you?
  170. >Where did those memories come from, and why did they make your body react so strangely?
  171. >You give a mental shrug, as you decide to leave getting answers for another day
  172. >As you step into Fluttershys' house, your mind lingers on one steadfast thought
  173. >No matter what the next day might bring, there was no way it could ever be as hectic or chaotic as today had been
  174. >With that final thought, you duck inside, just before the sun is lowered beneath the horizon
  175. --------------------------------/////---------------------------------
  176. Far away in Canterlot, a certain Princess looks over her land, lost in thought
  177. She had spent the entire day there, searching for the source, ever since she felt that blast of energy in the Everfree forest
  178. She was unsure as to what it might have been at first, but her uncertainty was quickly dispelled when she felt /his/ signature blast of energy, of Cosmos.
  179. >”So you finally did it Athena, you finally brought HIM here”
  180. >Her eyes narrow a bit, as she ponders as to what her next course of action should be
  181. >”Let us see what sort of hi-jinx you are getting yourself into....Saint Anonymous”, she said to herself, slowly trotting away to send a message to her sister…
  182. ---------------////////---------------------------------------------
  183. >Unbeknownst to either party, a dark flash of corrupted lightning seared deep into the Everfree forest, leaving a trail of destruction in its wake, as a trio of warriors clad in purple armor gathered their bearing, scanning the nearby area for any signs of wayward Cosmos, before heading off towards their new destination
  184. >Ponyville…
