  1. The concept:
  2.
  3. Pandora's Fox chroniles the adventures of Foxglove, a teenaged superhero charged, by fate and heritage, with protecting mankind from it's own unchecked negative energy.
  4.
  5. Foxglove, real name Kitrina Harms, descends from a long lone of
  6.
  7. In ancient times these women were worshipped by the populace as royalty, spiritual leaders, and even gods. That adoration provided them with the energy necessary to protect their people.
  8.
  9. Today, maseuarading as a god doesn't garner the same adoration as it used to. As such, Foxglove is forced to resort to other means to fuel her powers. Namely, pop stardom.
  10.
  11. Enter our heroe's third, and most popular identity, Pandora.

  14. THE TONE:

  16. This is where everything could go horribly wrong. The tone

  19. THE CHARACTER:
  20.
  21. PANDORA/FOXGLOVE/KITRINA: The story's hero and central character. At seventeen she is already a veteren of both the music industry and demon fighting. She was identified as a "conduit" at the age of four after recently losing both parents to a car crash. Since that time she was raised and educated, by a secret organization called the Pandora Group, specifically in music, psychology and philosophy in preperstion for her role as mankind's defense against itself.
  22.
  23. She was made aware of her destiny early on and embraced the responsibility with all the enthusiasm and determination inherent in children, but none of niavete. The Pandora group has cultivated conduits like her for centuries and have refined the process of molding children into superheros. Despite this process, or perhaps because of it, she paradoxically socially isolated yet acutely aware of and sensitive to the inner lives of everyone she comes in contact with. This awareness and control is what makes her so adapt at manipulating the energy she recieves from Pandora's fans.
  24.
  25. Using her powers to fight demons in the metaphysical realm leaves her exhausted and vulnerable in this one. This is the real purpose for the Pandora Group, to help the conduit use her energy more effeciently and to protect her from physical threat.
  26.
  27. MARK: has been teacher, mentor, and father figure to Pandora since her fourth year. Now in his late fifties, he's worked with the Pandora Group for thirty years researching the demon phenomenon and mentoring conduits. Through that research the Pandora Group has made some progress in the areas of predicting where pockets of negative energy will emerge as well as tracking it's movement. But there is still little they can do to combat or control that energy short of offering support to the conduit in the form of transportation, shelter, etc...
  28.
  29. As the conduit matures to adulthood his influence of the father figure is understandably diminished. However, the need for a close conection to the Pandora Group, handler and confidant is not...
  30.
  31.
  32. ALEX: is college student between his freshmen and sophomore year. He was identified by the Pandora Group, via psychological profiling using data gathered from scholastic tests, social patterns and spending habits. He is recruited, unbeknownst to him, through a phoney music industry internship. Only after agreeing to the internship is the true purpose of his recruitment revealed: Replacing Mark as Pandora/Foxglove's personal bodygaurd and handler. A position he is ill prepared for(save psychologically) but agrees to fill anyways after some convincing.
  33.
  34. Much of his early time spent with Pandora Group is spent training in weapons, defense tactics, and management.
  35.
  36.
  37.
  38. THE MYTHOLOGY: Conduits like Foxglove have existed as long as civilization itself. The obvious mythological touchstone being the Greek legend of Pandora, the first woman, created by the Gods to punish Promethius. Although the common version of the tale includes a box that Pandora opens despite all warnings, thereby releasing all evil into the world and trapping hope inside. Less literal translations, relying more on subtext and closely resembling other creation myths hold that the evil was placed inside woman thus the story echoes original sin...with hope remaining inside woman.
  39.
  40. It is from this version of the myth that the Pandora Group derives it's name. Whether or not there are direct ties to the mythical Pandora. The conduits have certainly existed since ancient times.
  41.
  42. Throughout time there has always been a conduit vanquishing the negative energy that mankind generates. That energy has increased in conjunction with population densities. Although there has always been a conduit. There has never been one with the sheer volume of demons to face as Foxglove. This requires her to constantly store massive amounts of positive energy
  43.
  44. Though evil and despair in every conceivable form have been releasesd on this earth, within the conduit, within Foxglove, hope remains.
