  1. The large black dragon touched down to the ground, her imposing figure reflecting off the crystal clear surface of the water below. The towers of perfectly shined metal stretched into the air, reflecting the light back and forth between the water and their chrome surfaces. Above them the darkness of the caverns that laced the world above blotted out the sun and any hint of the surface. "Really darling? Illithids?" The dragon had taken the form of a young drow woman, her eyes glazed white and arrangements of flowers in her hair.

  3. "Heh. I wish I were here to talk to Mind Flayers. We're here to see someone else." He adjusted the eye patch neatly over his father-in-law's eye inhabiting his skull. In these reaches, it was most important he not know Lian was near. "We're here to see Xa'ligha."
  4.
  5. The drow woman let out a sigh and stopped walking. "I'll wait here then, if it's all the same to you. I do not wish to walk the city again, and I certainly do not wish to see an old friend of my Father's. They are so dreadfully dull." She stopped and looked thoughtful for a moment. "Would he really be the one to ask about Axiom anyway?"
  6.
  7. "Oh now you're an expert on planar bindings and absolute law? You don't even know where your acid comes from yet." Lian spit on the ground and muttered 'useless' under his breath. "No, I don't think he knows shit about Axiom, but I think he knows about all the major polettiques above, so to speak. And if there's something at the upper levels that could pull the eyes of Axiom to the mundane world, then he'd know." Liam hadn't stopped walking, and as he grew out of ear shot of his wife he slowly made his way into the great City of the Glass Pool, the place where he could find those with eyes throughout the world.
