The girls hands turn red, monstrous and clawed, her eyes change from a calm brown to a vibrant red, but most noticeable of all are the three horns now jutting out of her head! This girl... she's not a mixed-blood! She's an honest to god half-oni!

You just about manage to redirect the force of one of her killing strikes as she leaps towards you with an incredible amount of ferocity, her intelligence as a human being substituted for the killer instincts of an oni. You follow up with a strike to a vital point, but your attack simply doesn't penetrate the thick layer of magical energy emanating from her body, like a protective veil of heat and flame, it even leaves a minor burn on your knuckles, though it quickly heals, being no more than an inconvenience.
