- Most conservatives I know we're against it. It's pro small business. It's less laws. Look at the word conservative. They stand for a small government run by small people running small businesses. Less restrictions and regulations of what it's all about. The country, and capitalism, runs on a free market, and if the market is the free, then capitalism won't work. The fact is this market is not free and that's a problem for the nation. There's so many rules and regulations that were put there for good reason but have turned the nation into a socialist-type democracy. The real basic desicion for net neutrality that created the split is that net neutrality is a law. It (in part) prevents isps from degrading network service, and slowing connevtion. It prevents companies from making your service worse unless you pay more. It actually costs them more money to degrade your service. Since telegrams, this has been outlawed.
- Take for instance monopolies. They are bad, and they are illegal. Regulations prevent them from happening. Regulations are the enemy to a free market and a free market is the back bone to capitalism....but monopolies are bad and regulations prevent them. It's contradictory! The reason is because capitalism is a perfect system. It absolutely works. Communism is a perfect system, it absolutely works. People are not perfect, they have flaws and no perfect system will work because the people in it are not perfect. This is why we need the regulations. Greed enters the system and if people were perfect, they'd control the greed. People aren't perfect so we need regulations to control the greed. They are a "necessary evil".
- You selfie just came in and now I have a boner while talking about politics and staring at a cute girl in a DNA choker
- If you abolishment net neutrality, and the market is in a state where there's only a few large companies, then those companies will definitely degrade service and make customers pay more for better service, and make websites pay more to even show up on the internet. That's bad. So net neutrality is good!! Well not quite, there's more to it.
- If the market isntead of having just a few large business running the show, if it had a bunch of smaller ones competing and it was all a competitive market, then no company would degrade service. If one of the competing companies degraded service they'd go out of business.
- Having large business run the show like a monopoly or a near monopoly is not a good idea. Net neutrality prevents those big companies from destroying things. But it ignores the problem that there are still big companies controlling the market. What needs to be done is encourage the market to have a competitive characteristic. Encourage small companies to be brought up. Give the big ones competition. Then any company that tries to degrade service gets run out of business. At that point, there is no need for net neutrality, and it becomes a useless regulation. Regulations are the enemy if a free market and the useless ones should be cut out. Net neutrality should be cut out at that point
- That all said I will conclude with this: I supported net neutrality. I saw no plan or ability to encourage competition. There was no program to help the smaller businesses compete with the big ones. If I had seen a viable way to bring those up, and seen the course and plan for action, then I would certainly have wanted the useless net neutrality gone because more businesses and more competition means a better, stronger economy, and less taxes etc. But until I see a solid plan or ability to bring up those small companies, I will support net neutrality.
