  1. Once upon a time, this land was covered in dinosaurs of all sizes. There were dinosaurs no bigger than a man's thumb (though of course, there were no humans back then to serve as a basis for comparison), there were dinosaurs as big as yachts (though, there being no humans, yachts had not yet been invented), and there were even dinosaurs as big as dreams. Dreams, did, in fact, exist, because dinosaurs dreamed.
  2.
  3. Now as you may know, some of the larger dinosaurs were so large that they had to have two brains. Each of these brains dreamt differently, and so often the dreams of a dinosaur's two brains were in conflict. For example, the head brain might dream about gobbling up lots of tasty humans, and then the tail brain would huffily point out that humans didn't exist yet! The tail brain might dream about relaxing in a yacht, and then the head brain would say, "Yachts won't exist for sixty-five million years!" And the tail brain would respond, "How do you know what year yachts will be invented?" And so on.
  4.
  5. Naturally a dinosaur whose brains were arguing constantly was a tormented creature, and many of these confused beasts ended up tossing themselves into boiling tar pits just for some peace and quiet. In this way the dinosaurs went extinct - except for the smaller, one-brained ones, who, over time, lost their scales, grew hair, and, eventually, invented yachts.
