Well, I was wrong. They didn’t stop me, more encouraged me, to activate the rune. I could feel it calling to me the same way the fire all around us was. Randidily was able to show me how to activate the rune, and it imbued me with power. I have these markings all over my body now, runes of power. Randidily said I should be immune to fire with it. I already had some resistance to fire, but immunity? Could I walk through the World Fire unharmed? I’ll have to be careful, the runes are simply a form of magic and could be dispelled by more powerful magic.
After some deliberation, and speaking with Bastion, we came to the conclusion that the World Fire was somehow leaking through the protective barrier placed around it. Bastion explained how a cult was trying to bring the moon Kiva down to Kor, and burn the world away with the World Fire, but they were stopped by a previous generation of Heroes. The World Fire remained unfortunately, and the Heroes were able to contain it.
While investigating how to strengthen it we came across a massive door and a guardian of sorts that beckoned us to fight it. IT called itself Finn, and claimed to be one of the Heroes that sealed the fire away, using their own life force to do so. This caused him to be trapped forever, undying, and causing the leaking of the World Fire beyond the barrier.
