  1. PoB vs Ame
  2.
  3. To start, both debaters put forth something of an "instant" win condition. PoB says that Natsu's heat can very easily kill Metal Men, and Ame says that Metal Men's piercing can very easily kill Natsu. If these arguments were true, they would essentially lead to an instant win, so I'll address them both.
  4.
  5. Ame drops the piercing argument by the end, PoB deflects it more than sufficiently.
  6.
  7. The heat argument carries through the entire debate, and I'm not entirely sure where I fall on it. I will first of all say that I am stupid and don't know very much about heat, so this judgment more comes down to "who better convinced me of the workings of heat" than "how does heat actually work." That being said, this could pretty easily go either way. The Metal Men's best heat resistance feat comes from the point at which the movie cuts away from them as they are assuredly dead, which makes it somewhat suspect, they also are clearly crying out in pain due to the heat. However, Ame is correct that their body doesn't like, instantly melt or anything, and Superman has to punch them more to actually put them down. With all that on the board, I think that the evidence that they'd be perfectly capable of dealing with Natsu's heat is probably wrong, however the arguments Ame makes in his third response that Natsu can't consistently keep Metal Men heated due to his attacks being blast based and Metal Men's ability to teleport is I think a good one. I am also slightly skeptical of PoB's claim that sufficent heat would turn off Metal Men's teleportation or regen or something, that's a pretty specific and convenient claim to draw from the evidence. Overall I buy Natsu's heat could be effective, but it's far from guaranteed thing.

  9. This brings us to a discussion of physicals, which character's strength will overcome the other's durability first.
  10.
  11. Important here is the stuff about teleporting and Natsu's speed boosts. I think that Ame's contention that Natsu will never hit Metal Men is probably overblown, especially since Superman like does react to and catch his attacks, and Natsu does have a speed boost that helps him with that kind of thing. That being said, this is still a significant mobility advantage, Metal Men clearly can and will teleport in combat, this gives Metal Men some amount of advantage in the slugfest to come.
  12.
  13. With that said, I think I favor Ame here. I don't really buy the whole "inconsistent collateral" argument, I think Ame's contention that most of the punches are hurting Superman who has good durability is generally sufficient to dismiss it. That leaves Metal Men with pretty good physicals, and Natsu does have durability at most somewhat better than Metal Men's striking. I also think Ame's argument against Natsu's dragon striking feat is pretty good, but the Markov throw one is kind of wack. Lastly, I think that Metal Men needing a whole bunch of high force punches from Superman to go down is enough to assuage the whole "Metal Men will have no defensive capability after one good hit" argument
  14.
  15. So I think the two characters have a somewhat comparable stat line, but Metal Men seem to take a slight edge, and in addition to the slight edge granted by teleportation, I think they win here.

  17. Ame wins
