  1. With the preparations practically complete, the time for the pinnacle of Achyonian progress was to begin.
  2.
  3. The Soulshard and Energy Core was thusly fused into a singular Synthetic Core to outshine all other Synthetic Cores. Something that was only deserving for Adam himself.
  4.
  5. All that was left? The addition of the core into the first Synthetic's body itself.
  6.
  7. Standing before the final preparations, the oldest Aertas clad in her worn white labcoat would issue a small team of trusted individuals for the final actions. Each leading a team, the Iron Patriarch Freda Von Bohm and one of the young brightest minds of Achyon, Marcel Delisle, would prove to cover any bases that needed it.
  8.
  9. "Very well," the Aertas announces. "The dawn of the final day in this year-long project has finally come upon us. A message to the Coalescence has been sent out, courtesy of the Iron Patriarch of course, and Adam will be arriving shortly for us to do the final preparations."
  10.
  11. Her hand gestures to the two set of materials left to apply. "For one, the Synthetic Core will be fastened into the First's chest cavity for empowerments. The final piece would be the usage of the Ceruleum for the runic circuits that will tether the core with the body itself as runic veins."
  12.
  13. It seems the plan itself has been prepared in advance, something that at least lessens the weight and provides an easier game plan moving forward. "If there are any questions or preparations that need addressing, now is the time for us to accomplish such."
  14.
  15. She remains still, looking on to the small team as she anticipates a few more words before the beginning of the end.
  16. (Amelia Locke pyr Aertas)
  17.
  18. It was excellence.
  19.
  20. Unlike any that he's seen before. Perhaps it's his devotion to the Empire that earned him his place here and now, or the constant work for the advancement of the Empire which he made for the greater good of them all, but.. regardless, he didn't ponder about it too much.
  21.
  22. Instead, it's time to focus on what's waiting for him.
  23.
  24. He listens to Amelia closely. Before them stands a fundamental task of something great, something that could push the odds for them all - after all, if Esshar were to ever witness the greatness of the Empire and their achievements..
  25.
  26. Surely they would recognize the foolishness of opposing the right side of the history.
  27.
  28. "Only summary."
  29.
  30. "To re-cap - we must fasten the Synthetic Core inside the First, and use Ceruleum for runic circuits and tether it to the core, correct?"
  31.
  32. "Are there any other actions beyond that? Anything else that I must do?"
  33.
  34. It's important to re-cap everything and ensure that he got it right, and that he would know his role in this operation. There's no room for mistake.
  35.
  36. Not in a project this grand.
  37. (Marcel Delisle)
  38.
  39. A cloud of smoked bellowed out from her mouth as she opened it, puffing it away from all the rare materials and the fellow staff members. Perhaps at some poor technomancer that was stationed at one of the nearby tables. It'd be rude to ruin such a wonderful situation they had at hand.
  40.
  41. Flashing a content little smile towards the duo. Freda tapped a burnt ashy end of the cigar into a nearby tray on the table, letting it rest between her prosthetic runic marked arm.
  42.
  43. "I've taken a good look at the plans and the outcome if all this comes together. Which I'm pretty sure everything will go just /dandy/."
  44.
  45. It took a good amount of her lifetime to assist in finishing this project, and the outcome was likely going to help them with any future endeavors that the empire might have to tumble through.
  46.
  47. "We can't make all the lives we lost during this project go to waste. When all the initial parts are ready and we need to ensure the core is powering the rest of the system? I'll take care of that part."
  48.
  49. Clicking her tongue against the roof of her mouth, she took another long drag from the cigar.
  50. (Freda Von Bohm)
  51.
  52. A sudden screeching would bellow out around the laboratory as upon the ceiling lies an opening hatch and careens outward, revealing a cloudy and thunderous sky. The looming shape of the Entity looks down upon the group within.
  53.
  54. Slowly, with a beam of light that seemed to phase down straight into the center of the room, a singular figure drifts and lands peacefully upon the stone flooring. As its familiar features from whence it first revealed itself in the year 1800AC comes through, Adam, in its powered-down state, emerges.
  55.
  56. Its body ready for reactivation.
  57. [NARRATE]
  58.
  59. Despite its awestriking arrival, the doctor-artificer remains still. Her countenance reveals little to no reaction from her. Only the glossy irises and half-open eyes seemed to exude from her form.
  60.
  61. As the First's body lands before their doorstep, a sudden snap from her fingers would allow runes to flicker to life. Her young synthetic familiars blur to life. Each one seemed to buzz and zoom around the room, providing aid to any scientist through the means of lugging items around, providing built in tools, and other utilities that the Aertas likely installed within.
  62.
  63. She turns back to the rest, clearly determined in her tone despite its monotony. "He arrives. Let us not make ourselves look disappointing to the Coalescence. We are the brightest Achyon has to offer. Let us prove to them that such a title is utterly true."
  64.
  65. And like a switch turned on, Amelia moves to the body of the Synthetic, preparing it for empowerment. The two materials remain on thetable, likely each one tasked to be attended to by one of the two other team heads.
  66. (Amelia Locke pyr Aertas)
  67.
  68. He watches in awe.
  69.
  70. The revelation of Coalescence's actions comes to him as a surprise, for he's never faced something like that before- as much as he observed countless oddities in Achyon before and he could observe them even now.. this is one of the rare things that could surprise him still.
  71.
  72. There's a long, silent pause that lingers in the air.
  73. Only Amelia's call seems to make him snap back to reality.
  74.
  75. "--Of course."
  76.
  77. The core. It would be necessary for them to move forward at all, and without further hesitation he already approaches the powered down synthetic, Adam. Before such installation could begin, there follows the removal of the panel and protection that is needed in order to install any modifications.
  78.
  79. Much like how Amelia taught him, when she revealed the inner design of Synthetics to him.
  80.
  81. There are differences to the body of exceptional synthetic such as Adam, of course.. and it may take Marcel a bit to figure it out properly, to make sure that he does not make a mistake; only once he's most definitely certain he accessed the place of the core, right in its center, there's a silent hum.
  82.
  83. "Mmh.."
  84.
  85. Thoughtful, focused. The fastening of the core is an extended process, wiring any connections that are part of the body and the core itself alike - he had no doubt that the core itself was outfitted to specifically suit the body of Adam. Such wiring, of course, is supported by the workings with the runes..
  86.
  87. An integral part of any Synthetic, more so the complex body such as Adam; careful, detailed runework is used to ensure that the core is attached correctly and that it would remain. There's another moment of silence that lingers on, all the while he ensures that the core is truly fastened, until..
  88.
  89. "I think it's ready to be empowered and tethered with Ceruleum." Much like Amelia told them to do.
  90.
  91. She's essentially a teamleader in this project, and Marcel remains on stand-by, should his further involvement be necessary.
  92.
  93. For now, the core remains fastened already, awaiting within.
  94. (Marcel Delisle)
  95.
  96. Brightest minds the nation of the empire had to offer.
  97.
  98. That comment was met with a roll back of her fleshy eye as the cigar was dragged out one last time. Aiming the smoke away in a different direction and placing it on the rim of the ashtray at her side. There was no point in risking spilling ash or puffing some smoke into the interiors of such an ancient machine.
  99.
  100. All the tools were brought to her sides thanks to those helpful little bots and surrounding technomancers who were just as awfully amazed at the shocking arrival of such a creation was brought to their view.
  101.
  102. "Lets not fuck this up. Be very careful, this is a team effort and we don't want to risk damaging any of the parts or the internal circuitry itself."
  103.
  104. Parting a glance over to the willingly and totally ready to work cybernetic arm that protruded out from her back, a thumbs up was given and Freda pulled out a pair of tactical engineer goggles from the depths of her coat. Covering her eyes with it as she began to handle the work on her part.
  105.
  106. Synthetics were practically one of her prized possessions and past trophies. Even if they hated her for some odd reason.
  107.
  108. Ensuring not to bump into one of her hardworking comrades, Freda began to take part in getting the runic veins mix matched with the cereluem. Bringing this piping heap of junk that could very well destroy a nation if it was agitated enough..
  109.
  110. Some forceful grunts and puffs from her cigar, her hands were dirty but she endured as time went.
  111.
  112. Taking a step back and lifting the goggles over her eyes again. A nod was given towards the others two as Freda grinned.
  113.
  114. "We're all good to go. Hopefully this one won't attempt to choke me out like one of the first trial and error sythnetic models."
  115. (Freda Von Bohm)
  116.
  117. With the two others purging all their focus upon their singular tasks, Amelia switch between, overseeing and providing any aid required to the actions themselves.
  118.
  119. If anything, they were like a well-oiled machine. Cogs working in harmony as the larger contraption whirred with an efficient ferocity.
  120.
  121. Marcel, one of the younger members of Achyon, providing an exemplary set of skills and an unerring swift capability to pick up knowledge from mere action. A seed Amelia helped sow now blooming into not only a powerful soldier, but a season artificer.
  122.
  123. The core is swiftly fastened, the inner soulshard almost whirring to life, attempting to break from its bindings, yet the Energy Core keeps it at bay, its attempts merely being siphoned as runes begin to empower themselves.
  124.
  125. Ferda, the complete opposite in that she has lived and gone through a plethora of years; gathering an incredible amount of wisdom throughout them. The one who taught many things to Amelia herself has now been brought into the fray, providing years of experience that is pricelessly valuable to the team.
  126.
  127. The runes that stream all over the First's body would be intertwined. The sigils shifting and transforming as they are placed, only amplified once the core is attached to the circuit.
  128.
  129. In one sudden action, as the final connection is made, Adam, for the better part, was activated.
  130. (Amelia Locke pyr Aertas)
  131.
  132. As the runic symbols chain and connect among each other, a sudden flurry of energy implodes within the Technomancer laboratory. The light flicker, suddenly causing a sudden power-outage, only for everything to return seconds later.
  133.
  134. It returns with a stronger capacity.
  135.
  136. The light shine brighter than before, machines whir with an unprecedented empowered state, and Synthetics seem to move at an incredibly powerful pace. As the eyelids upon the First begins to shift and open, other Technomancers revel in awe. It seems that the sudden surge and increase of power exudes from the Synthetic itself.
  137.
  138. As if it were a walking power-source.
  139.
  140. It slowly careens its head. It does not speak, nor does it make any moves. For the better part, it seems to remain at a comatose state, attempting to grow accustomed to its newfound sentience. It might take days or weeks for Adam to properly come, but its activation was an utter success.
  141. [NARRATE]
  142.
  143. Event Admin: A flash of white streams through the skies of Achyon's factories, a spearing blast of raw magic that lights the entire city for a few brief moments. To distant observers it might look like an ethereal dagger tearing the sky in two, running itself up on the heavens and parting midnight itself.
  144. [NARRATE]
  145.
  146. It was something glorious.
  147.
  148. When everything connects, the power blackout causes him to look around for a bit- a flicker of lacking electricity and other power that is easily noted, yet his gaze turns quickly towards Adam himself.
  149.
  150. Was it a power source, then?
  151.
  152. This could actually serve as a stepping stone to something greater.. after all, the progress tends to rely on energy consumption, and the more one is capable of producing, the more one can afford to push further - much further beyond than expected.
  153.
  154. "... This is amazing."
  155.
  156. To witness this is to witness the birth of something great, something.. bigger than everything.
  157.
  158. Bigger than anyone else others have done.
  159.
  160. "This will no doubt show others that Achyon is the city of progress."
  161.
  162. "No longer they can hide behind the veil of ignorance."
  163.
  164. No longer they can pretend to be right.
  165. (Marcel Delisle)
