  110. Hi K-
  111.
  112. Are you able to send the tape back? It clearly seems as though this
  113. project is not a priority for you and I
  114. would like to have it done by someone else. It really shouldn't take
  115. over 2 months to digitize a single
  116. tape.
  117.
  118. And to be honest, the bigger issue here has been the near complete
  119. lack of communication from your side.
  120. Completely ignoring emails unless I post on the forum and complain.
  121.
  122. The address to send the tape back to is:
  123.
  124. <redacted>
  125.
  126. Please respond at your earliest convenience, thank you for your
  127. time.

  298.
  299.
  300. Greetings-
  301.
  302.
  303. I am inquiring about using your services to transfer some VHS tapes to digital format. Here is the
  304. information requested from your Contact Us Page:
  305.
  306.
  307. - What type of video do you need work done on? (Example: VHS tapes)
  308.
  309.
  310. VHS Tape(s) converted to h.264.
  311.
  312.
  313. - How many videos are in the project? (Example: 2 tapes)
  314.
  315.
  316. I would like to send in one example tape, see the result, and then decide if I would like to have
  317. your
  318. company proceed with the rest of the tapes. If I decide to proceed, I think the project could
  319. consist of
  320. dozens more tapes (I still need to go through and catalogue what needs to be transferred, so this
  321. number is
  322. still not final).
  323.
  324.
  325. - What is the running time of the videos? (Example: 3 hours, 45 minutes) Give your best guess if
  326. you're
  327. not entirely sure.
  328.
  329.
  330. As far as the the first tape I would like to have you do, I believe it is about 90 minutes long. The
  331.
  332. rest of the tapes (that would potentially be coming later, I still need to catalogue like I said)
  333. are
  334. unknown at this time.
  335.
  336.
  337. - If you need the audio or video restored, describe the errors you see or hear to the best of your
  338. ability (tech terms not required).
  339.
  340.
  341. The example tape I am sending was recorded in 1984, and as expected has deteriorated over time
  342. (which
  343. is why I am trying to archive it). There is some blown out areas (like outside where it is very
  344. bright),
  345. some "curvyness" to the image, and color correction that needs to be down (often times there is a
  346. green hue
  347. everywhere). Part of this may have to do to the fact I was looking at it on an old crappy consumer
  348. VCR with
  349. a cheap video capture device. I have attached a screenshot of the video. I suspect your equipment
  350. and
  351. workflow is much better. I'm not expecting miracles here, but I'm sure whatever you do is much
  352. better than
  353. what I could coble together.
  354.
  355. - You must give your budget. We want your business, and we'll let you know what services can fit
  356. into
  357. your available price range.
  358.
  359. The short answer to this is that I am willing to pay whatever it takes to get as good copies of
  360. these
  361. tapes as possible. You mention pricing starting around $30-$40 per video and that it depends on each
  362. tape
  363. and I think this is a fair starting point. I'm sure we can work something out.
  364.
  365.
  366. Please let me know how I can send you the tape, any questions you may have, and what the next steps
  367. are.
  368. Hopefully this is only the first of many tapes I can send you. Thank you.
  369.
  370.
  371. Looking forward to your response.
  372. Regards,
  373. J E
