I've made a horrible mis step and unfortunately because of it there is work to be done
I'm going to have to rewrite supermental
Which is something I don't intend to do for some time

The truth is I told nat and lexa the entire plot when we were working
so this is the last step I need to take in order to be rid of them
once I reveal the plot, afterwards nothing will be canon

pent is trans
deja is the final antagonist
he can best be described as a drifting evil
he is a man obsessed with the concept of movement
unlike most foes you come across he has no powers of which to speak of
he is a concentrated hate bullet that is, against his will, the final thread holding reality together
as far as anyone knows, anyhow
the supermental, completed, functions in simple terms
whoever uses it has their thoughts manifested into tangible things
the user cant choose what comes forth, it just becomes
the supermental arrived from another world where the laws of physics are reversed
it is to say, in our world we have cause and effect
"i pushed the ball, so it rolled down the hill"
in this other universe, the law would be "the ball rolled down the hill, so i pushed it"
the supermental was responsible for the big bang

the inverse of "something mustve happened in order to start the big bang" was "the big bang happened because it had to exist"
a scientific law that allows the laws of physics to change

he can dive into peoples minds
turning the brains abstract concepts into tangible things that he can freely change
smack and pent set off to collect the supermental pieces for no other reason than the thrill of the adventure
but one day pent gives up
and when he explains why, smack notices he doesnt tell the truth about it whatsoever
that is because days prior, their first supermental piece heist was thoroughly planned out
in fratelli's pizzeria
gino fratelli is the boss of fratelli's pizzeria, and pents boss as well
after their heist is a success, pent notices he forgot something in the chaos of the heist
his diary was gone
the one who ended up in possession of this diary was gino fratelli
pent realizing he must have it, confronts gino in his restaraunt
gino, realizing he has some leverage over pent, but not quite understanding why, attempts to play this to his advantage
he promises to return his diary in exchange for a favor
he has to break into an unspecified building and drop off an unmarked package within it
thinking the job sounds easy, he agrees and does so with relative success
he returns to retrieve his diary, which gino hands him with no resistance
the next day, however, he learns the nature of what he had actually done
the package was filled with a deadly poison which had killed everyone inside the building he placed it in
it was a retaliatory effort on ginos part to kill the family members of those opposing his mob lifestyle
and as pent nervously flips through his diary he notices the final straw
all the pages mentioning his desire to be who she truly is
every page mentioning shelby
has been torn out
gino texts him and tells him he has one more job
and should he complete it, he will get the rest
smack notices pents behavior becoming more erratic
pent would rather die than tell smack who she really is
she cannot risk it

as tensions rise between smack and pent, disaster strikes
deja makes his grand appearence
he has been running through nickville mowing people down
the entire city is in bedlam as no one is able to stop him
people are being rended through by a  man and his gauntlets, and so smack decides to put their fight on hold and persue deja
pent now at wits end, threatened into killing again, with the town being torn up and everything upside down, is inspired
he invites a soothing rage to take over
his head is playing one phrase on repeat "lets go for a walk"
he walks directly to fratelli's pizzeria and encounters gino watching tv drinking whisky
he doesnt even notice pent walk in
pent brandishes a switchblade and slits his throat
and then carves up the rest of his body to make it look as if deja had struck
he returns home, bloodied and battered and collapses
smack returns, fearing the worst. he dives into pents mind
trying to find the source of his misery he is immediately drawn to the one idea occupying pents headspace
the concept of shelby
a violently pulsating light, visibly depressing his other faculties
this concept of shelby is putting pent under such stress that it may very well kill him
smack doesnt know how to interpret this
he has no idea who or what shelby is
as this is the very first time the idea of shelby had ever reared its head to him, smack sees an opprotunity
perhaps he can fix all of these horrible things happening to pent
he chooses, in error, to destroy the concept of shelby
now for the answer
why pent is he
instead of she
during the events of khonjin house
there is no shelby
there is no girl to identify as
when pent wakes up, he is a husk
no semblence of who he was
he is not happy, sad, angry
he is just alive

the days pass
and nothing happens
he pretends that everything is ok with the knowledge he is able to glean
people call him pent
people say pent likes gambling
so he adopts these things and struggles to find something that makes him feel anything
but there is nothing to feel, because there is no one there
that is until
episode 1 of supermental
pent returns home, once again locking the doors to his room
he reads the diary he has been reading for days. he sees what is written, he remembers what is written, but there is no connection made
until he manages to find one scrap
the word shelby on the corner of a page
and in that moment everything changes
he doesnt know why, but seeing that name makes him feel SOMETHING
he feels desire
whatever shelby is, he knows he wants it
he notices the pages have been ripped out
the pages that could've told him what shelby is, are conveniently gone. pent grows suspicious
he thinks someone is keeping shelby from him
that someone ripped out the pages of his diary to prevent him from knowing how to find her
tensions between smack and pent rise again
smack notices that every single thing pent has said since his mind dive has been a lie
things that shouldnt even be lies are lies
smack questions if he really is pent
pent, bluffing, says he was right to suspect he wasnt actually pent, hoping to catch smack off guard
but smacks powers wont quit, and they tell him that this too is a lie
enraged and confused, smack starts to feel the weight of his actions
"are you shelby?"
pent again, says yes
but this too, is a lie
smack, completely out of his element, panics and tries to figure out what went wrong
he talks pent down and convinces him that they will both get to the bottom of this
and so their next adventure begins: fixing pent
it is not meant to last
during their journey pent gets kidnapped
smack and pent plan to steal the second piece from a neighboring kingdom
but when they attempt to pull off the scheme, pent accidentally gives away their position
pent is captured and jailed and so is smack
smack eventually finds the means to break free, and searches for pent who was taken elsewhere
after some searching, smack finds pent who greets him and offers a hug to celebrate their escape
as smack goes in for it hes given a single seconds look into the future
revealing pents intent to pull his switchblade
his swipe misses and smack begins to piece together what has been happening
pent stole the first supermental piece
he gave away their position on purpose so they could be captured
pent having the stolen piece would use it to kill the guards
he waltzes out of his prison and takes the piece for himself
the second piece rather
pent has come to a conclusion about smack
his journey for the supermental pieces has taught him the rules
anything you will into existence is destroyed when you die
alright
well anyways
pent takes these rules into consideration while observing smacks motives
he wants to kill deja
the only information known about him is that he was forced to use the supermental, and a lot of the reality seen could very well be his handiwork
pent realizes
he woke up one day
out of nowhere
with nothing going on inside of him
with no explanation until now
pent believes he was created by the supermental when deja was forced to use it
he believes if smack kills deja, he will cease to exist
so the new plan: kill smack before he gets the chance
thats why in khonjin house khonjins father looks similar to deja
pent believes that deja is the one who created him
pent and smack, both drowning in betrayal and rage come to blows
smack intends to incapacitate him as the fight goes on
but pents animosity and goading begins to urk him
and so smack decides to be selfish for the first time in his life
he doesnt fight to neutralize him
he fights to hurt him
instead of throwing a punch
he elbows smack in the forehead as hes coming in for another swipe
pent is rattled and falls to the ground
pent has lost
with no other reprieve, he gives up
he pulls out the supermental piece
he begins to drift into a comatose state
a world begins to form
the supermental attempts to bring what is inside of his head outwards
but there isnt anything there
just odd fabrications of what things are supposed to be
the world of khonjin house is formed in his head
and he resides there as the blissfully unaware khonjin
with smack unable to dive into his mind due to the supermentals power
that is when the events of khonjin house begin

smack proves it works by causing pent to revert back

and when hes in his khonjin persona, hes not even aware he exists
its only through brief lapses like when he meets gino that he has some semblance of who he is supposed to be
he recognizes gino
he thinks he may be back in nickville square

smack works for khonjins dad to get closer to khonjin and try to figure out what this world is and how to bring pent out of it
its sort of a race of two people figuring out the same thing
if pent learns he has godlike power in his mind, smack may never escape
if smack hesitates, pent will never be saved
pent starts searching for anything related to shelby
which of course culminates in his date with GSC
no one knows anything about shelby because they all came from his mind
he grows frustrated
it all eventually culminates in the encounter of episode 50
his head periodically bleeding, as it is mentally something he cant shake

to him the elbow to the head was proof that his paranoid suspicions were correct
he feels it when smack is there
fortunately, just like the barrier to his head
he is able to break down khonjin to his components
the illusion, and pent
in the end pent is powerless and in a desperate attempt lunges at smack
khonjin freezes him and they are banished outside of his head
this is where the final development comes in for them
smack appears with pent, crystalized in the outside world
within the cathedral of their last encounter
pent breaks free of the ice
smack pleads with him to believe that he doesnt want to hurt him
that killing deja wont get rid of him
the floor begins to crumble
and a pool of magma rears itself
pent slips and begins to fall
but smack, stretching his arms, catches him
pent is now dangling upside down over a pit of lava, and smack tries to pull him up
but something peculiar starts happening
pent starts swinging
he is shifting his weight back and forth
smacks arm swinging with him
and with every ounce of strength pent has
with every fiber of his being
he kicks smack in his hand
smack lets go
and pent falls to the lava
he sees his life flash before him
and then it happens
right before he is consumed by the lava
he remembers
every feeling starts rushing back
he knows what has happened
he knows why hes here
she remembers who she is
she is consumed by the lava
smack, broken, takes a deep breath as he often does
he does not shed a tear
and begins to leave
that is before the ground gives way one last time
bursting forth from the magma shelbys bones are spit onto the cathedral floor
from the sockets black crystalized links form
out of the top a pink flame
the flame opens its mouth
and reveals two eyes inside of it
and finally the beast roars
and smack understands what is left for him
smacks atonement is to withstand the rage of someone he nearly destroyed
and the firey shelby rampages through the halls
like a blind bull, just expelling energy
smack stays and takes the hits until shelby withers out
she collapses into a pile of rubble
smack is now confronted with the reality that he will die with his own secret
the illusion created by deja was smack
and when smack defeats him
he will die
all that is left is the confrontation with deja
in the meantime, deja has left little else for him
he has brought ruin to the kingdom
left nickville desolate
no one is entirely certain what dejas motives are
he has gone after those who have used the supermental
but for no stated reason
he has killed many, saved many lives as well
though vehemently violent, is a man who is not above doing what he thinks is right
to no satisfaction, however
he found a miserable prince, a man who enslaved and raped those whom he could easily lure
deja found him
he would grab him by the back of the head, and drag his face along a brick wall
but to no satisfaction
he would prop him up on his legs to knock him over
to no satisfaction
he would hold his jaw in a vicegrip until it began to crack
but no matter what
no matter how long the punishment game played out
not an ounce of pleasure
he would only grow more upset
and he would remove the gauntlets and rip the skin off his face and gain nothing but new opportunity to test the limit of his ire
and as he slaps the face of a man long dead
he comes to the same realization as before
that what he is doing
is so close to what he wants to be doing
but it isnt quite it
deja wants to be killed in a grand spectacle
not for the honor of such a thing
he is reborn into a world where he is unchecked
he yearns for a check
and for a little more than that but
it just occured to me that i never told anyone about dejas true intentions
so perhaps ill keep my mouth shut about him
he can still be saved
