- from /hhg/ Helluva Hotel general #647
- -------
- You wouldn't work to undermine the efforts of the hotel, would you, anon?
- -
- Nope
- Trying to repent for your sins and become a better person is something that takes a lot of self-reflection and willpower. It's actually admirable, if anything, and I'd help if I could.
- -
- I fully expect that to be a story arc that happens in the show. Someone (probably one of the Vs) will send a lackey to pretend to check in who will then deliberately sabotage the hotel or just try to dupe/lure other sinners into giving up on redemption.
- -
- Probably one of Val's girls.
- -
- It'd be cool if charlie befriended a warlord from Wrath to help guard the hotel
- -
- Seems like the most likely candidate. He's got a lot of hookers at his disposal, and Charlie seems like she'd probably fall for whatever sob story they tell hook line and sinker. My question would be if Angel Dust falls for it. Would he sympathize with them/try to bond over the fact that they're both (supposedly) trying to get out of Val's clutches or would he see through their lies?
- -
- >Angel Dust sees she's bullshitting
- >tries to convince everyone she is
- >no one believes him
- -
- >Vaggie doesn't want to believe him, but she has her doubts
- >accidentally stumbles upon the woman talking to Val
- >tries to convince Charlie - pleas fall on deaf ears
- >actually gets scolded for trying to drive away the new guest!
- >swallows her pride, and talks to Alastor instead
- >Al pretends not to believe him, but has secretly been paying close attention to the newcomer since day one
- >the moment the hooker slips up, he snatches her, catching her off-guard
- >with a little scare and a stern voice, she has her spill the beans
- >tries to take all the credit for finding out the impostor...
- >...but Charlie's too busy apologizing to Vaggie and Angel to notice his gloating
- >meanwhile, the prostitute had a change of hear - really, she just doesn't want to go back to Val after failing her mission, and Angel can sympathize with that
- >they agree to let her stay, but she has to break all contact with Val

- I have this if that helps...
- --
- >Inb4 Vals plan backfires and she actually joins the hotel for real
- >Val is absolutely foaming at the mouth trying to get Angel Dust back on board and starts shooting up his office
- -
- See that's one of the main ways the arc could ultimately conclude. The whole
- >Character is secretly working for the villain
- >Character finds they genuinely like the good guys
- >Character stops undermining the good guys/starts working against the villain/wants to join the good guys for real
- thing isn't exactly new. Terra's arc in Teen Titans comes to mind (the show, not the comics). But there's always that moment afterwards where they newly reformed saboteur has to come clean to their new friends, and we've got a cast of characters who are probably a lot more vindictive and ready to use violence than a bunch of squeaky clean superheroes. Charlie would probably still welcome them with open arms, but Vaggie will be on high alert looking for even the slightest reason to start slitting throats, Angel Dust will likewise be furious/forever suspicious, and Alastor might give them a taste of what he did to Pent without any further provocation just to make a point.

- Sounds really familiar but i can't put my finger on it
- -
- Yeah I'm sure there's a nice succinct name for the trope but it eludes me right now.
