38. The world's finest heroes found the Justice League in order to stop an alien invasion of Earth.
 39. Reviewed by: Dare Devil Kid

Rating: 4.2/5 stars

A new high for DC Entertainment's direct-to-video animated features. It works as a terrific origin story for the Justice League and in spite of its approximately 80 minutes, short time frame, still manages to draw comparisons - albeit at a rudimentary level - with Marvel's blockbuster celluloid origin release, "The Avengers". Matter of fact, the direct-to- video section is the only avenue in which DC manages to consistently trump Marvel.

As far as, Justice League: War" goes, it does a swell job of bringing all the famous DC superheroes together; setting up their interaction through witty retorts and smart interplay; fluently transcending the passage from their initial aversion to eventual solidarity for each other; and finally culminating into some stunning action scenes worthy of the pedestal this esteemed costumed ensemble deserves. What's more, we get to see superheroes like Shazam and Cyborg in action after eons, as also the supremely potent villain, Darkseid.

Steered by the assured hands of direct-to-video master helmer, Jay Olivia; the plot is highly elaborate and more importantly very well executed, which is befitting for an origins setup of this magnitude. And the icing on the cake is a neat little segment midway through the end credits, which brilliantly sets up the plot for a sequel. Here's hoping for many more such high quality video offerings from Warner Bros. and DC Entertainment. Now, only if they could combine their resources and bring such stupendous entertainment on the big screen - something other than Batman that is - in the same vein that Marvel Studios does justice to all its superheroes.
 40. This movie seems to be another retelling of the DC characters' origin, especially Cyborg's. Maybe it's gotten to the point where I've seen so many of these movies that I'm not that impressed with them anymore. Don't get me wrong, this is still enjoyable. It's still not that unique. It makes you wonder what costume Wonder Woman will wear next. I really do like the stuff with her and the ice cream. In this movie, we get to see Desaad, Darkseid's assistant, for the first time. It's weird to see Darkseid as literally a giant. Hey, I remember whose parademons from the end of "Justice League: Flashpoint Paradox"! Dang, I'm just becoming more familiar with superheroes constantly.

The animation was very slick. I think this might be the first time any animated superhero movie included the word "shit". Well, everything is PG-13 including the cartoon movies nowadays! The fight scenes are always great and while the characterizations aren't that perfect, we still get some good study of the characters. Are these movies ever going to run out of different animation styles? Just how many different times can you reimagine Batman and Superman? ***
