Bearing the flame

[22:49] Terran pulled out a chair sitting down, he was surprised at Ashe's question but it was to be expected he knew that he wouldn't just join her guild. Despite them knowing each other they were basically strangers. Trying to collect his thoughts Terran paused briefly.

"So as you know my name is Terran, I grew up with my brother Nero a huntsman, Nero died in a hunting accident a few years ago. I was unable to retrieve his body due to the beast that decided to have him for a meal. I first realized my weakness then."

Terran sighed remember how weak he felt unable to even burry his brothers body.

"Which this brings me to why I want to join you, I've had two run in with demons both times I've survived due to grace of others or some form of sick pity those monsters have for me, due to how weak I am. But I'm tired enough is enough, I've decided I'm going to get stronger and face my fears including fighting the demons."

Talking about his own weakness and inability didn't seem to bother Terran the youth seemed used to it.

"So I decided to accept your offer I want to be stronger so I don't have to be at anyone else's mercy. I want to be strong and your guild seems like one of the best roads to my goal."
(Terran)

[22:55] "I see...." Ashe pondered, looking into the hands of the grandfather clock. "Well we don't hunt demons, so if you want to hunt demons go join the Black Watch. We're a defense guild only, no demon raids, just defending our people."

She didn't care for the back story as much as she used to, the stories of so many over the course of the last year melting together. All that matter was his intent on the future. Ashe frowned.

"I appreciate your want to be stronger and to fight demons, but that's simply not what the guild is for." She noted professionally. "If you want to join our community and help defend Osrona in times of need, so be it, but I'm not going to play into the mindset of yours that believes you can overcome demons and fear with pure strength."

She paused only for a moment.

"That is a mindset that will lead to your death."

[23:38] Terran says, "I see I guess I was misinformed about your purpose that was my mistake."
[23:40] Terran says, "However I'm no fool, I'm not one to believe that strength will overcome my fear of demons."
[23:40] Terran says, "It takes more than just strength to fight foes like that and I don't think I'll ever overcome my fear for them."
[23:42] Terran says, "I also don't plan on doing something reckless that wil get me or others killed, but I do firmly believe that the demons are getting bold. I was attacked shortly outside the city gates."
