# Terms of Service — AutoRole Bot

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the **AutoRole Bot** Discord application (the "Bot"). By inviting, configuring, or otherwise using the Bot in a Discord server, you ("you", "the server owner", or "user") agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not add or use the Bot.

## 1. Description of Service

AutoRole Bot is a Discord application that automates role management for Discord servers, including (but not limited to) automatic role assignment on join, age- and loyalty-based roles, temporary and timed roles, connected/linked roles, reaction roles, and optional VIP custom roles and private channels.

## 2. Eligibility

By using the Bot, you confirm that:

- You meet Discord's minimum age requirement for your country, as defined in the [Discord Terms of Service](https://discord.com/terms).
- You have the necessary permissions (e.g. **Manage Server** / **Manage Roles**) to add and configure the Bot in any server where you do so.
- You will comply with the [Discord Terms of Service](https://discord.com/terms) and [Discord Community Guidelines](https://discord.com/guidelines) at all times.

## 3. Acceptable Use

You agree **not** to:

- Use the Bot for any unlawful, abusive, or malicious purpose.
- Attempt to exploit, overload, disrupt, reverse engineer, or gain unauthorized access to the Bot or its infrastructure.
- Use the Bot to assign roles or permissions in a way that violates Discord's rules or harms other users.
- Resell, sublicense, or commercially exploit the Bot without prior written permission.

We reserve the right to restrict or terminate access to the Bot for any server or user that violates these Terms.

## 4. Permissions and Role Hierarchy

The Bot requires certain Discord permissions (such as **Manage Roles** and, for VIP channels, **Manage Channels**) to function. You are responsible for:

- Granting the Bot appropriate permissions.
- Positioning the Bot's role above any roles it is expected to manage.
- Reviewing and configuring the Bot's features responsibly.

The Bot can only manage roles and channels that are below its own role in the server hierarchy, in line with Discord's permission system.

## 5. Availability and Changes

The Bot is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We do not guarantee that the Bot will be uninterrupted, error-free, or available at all times. We may, at any time and without prior notice:

- Modify, suspend, or discontinue any feature of the Bot.
- Update these Terms (changes take effect when posted; continued use constitutes acceptance).

## 6. Disclaimer of Warranties

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Bot is provided without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. You use the Bot at your own risk.

## 7. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Bot's developers and operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, roles, channels, or server configuration, arising out of or related to your use of (or inability to use) the Bot.

## 8. Termination

You may stop using the Bot at any time by removing it from your server. We may suspend or terminate the Bot's service to any server or user at our discretion, including for violations of these Terms.
