- That that is, is. That that is not, is not. Isn’t that it? It is.
- (You could also do: James, while John had had “had had”, had had “had”. “Had had” had had the teacher’s approval. = James, while John had used past perfect, had used simple past. Past perfect had received the teacher’s approval.)
