弓教授
「諸君、飛行要塞グールから多数の[機械獣]が射出された。
敵は総攻撃を仕掛けるのではなく、波状攻撃を
続行するつもりのようだ」
Prof. Yumi: Everyone, the Flying Fortress Ghoul has released several more [Mechanical Beasts]. It seems the enemy plans to keep attacking in waves rather than launch an all-out attack.

(Everyone other than Yumi is on comms.)

甲児
「こっちをとことんまで消耗させてから、
息の根を止める気か。グールがノコノコと
やって来たら、ぶっ叩いてやろうと思ってたのによ」
Koji: They’re trying to tire us out and then go in for the kill, I bet. And here I was wanting to smack the Ghoul right out of the sky when it came down.

アムロ
「それを恐れての布陣だろうが、
そこにチャンスがある」
Amuro: That’s probably what they were afraid of, but using this battle formation gives us a chance.

弓教授
「うむ。機械獣を全て撃破されたら、
敵はもうグールで仕掛けるしかない」
Prof. Yumi: Yes. Once all Mechanical Beasts have been destroyed, the enemy will have no choice but to send in the Ghoul.

甲児
「ここで総攻撃を食らうよりは
マシだってことか…!」
Koji: It’s better than taking a full-on assault anyways, so that works for me...!

さやか
「お父様、万が一に備えて地下に避難してください」
Sayaka: Father, please be ready to take shelter underground if anything goes wrong.

弓教授
「いや…甲児君やアムロ大尉、そして娘のお前が
戦っているのに、逃げるわけにはいかん」
Prof. Yumi: No... I won’t run when Koji, Lieutenant Amuro, and you, my own daughter, are still fighting.

弓教授
「指令室でしかできないこともある。
私も、共にここで戦うのだよ」
Prof. Yumi: There are some things that can only be done from the Command Room. I will fight with you from here.

さやか
「お父様…」
Sayaka: Father...

アムロ
「いい指揮官をもったな、甲児」
Amuro: You’ve got a good Commander, Koji.

甲児
「まったくですよ。
俺にはもったいねえや」
Koji: Don’t I know it. Honestly, he’s too good for me.


第3話
『黒鉄の城』
Episode 3
Black Iron Castle


(Scene begins on the map of the Photon Power Lab. Amuro and Koji are in Mazinger Z, Sayaka is in Aphrodite A, and several Mechanical Beasts have appeared.)

甲児
「奴らめ、ここで勝負を決めるつもりだろうが…
そうはさせねえぜ」
Koji: They’re trying to decide the victor here and now... But we’re not gonna lose.

さやか
「ええ、研究所とお父様たちを必ず守ってみせる…!」
Sayaka: Yes, we’ll protect the lab, my father, and the others...!

アムロ
(アフロダイAが加わったとはいえ、
ここからは激戦となる)
Amuro: (Even when Aphrodite A backing us up now, we still have a hard fight ahead of us.)

アムロ
(甲児は気丈に振る舞っているが、
戦闘に耐えられるかどうか…)
Amuro: (Koji’s putting on a brave face, but I’m not sure he’ll be able to handle the battle...)

甲児
「アムロ大尉、駄目だぜ?
ここまで来て、俺を降ろすってのは」
Koji: It’s not gonna happen, Lieutenant Amuro. There’s no way I’m getting out at this point.

アムロ
「甲児…」
Amuro: Koji...

甲児
「ニュータイプじゃなくたって、わかりますよ。
それが人情っていうか、人の優しさってもんだ」
Koji: I don’t need to be a Newtype to figure out what you were thinking. It’s just human nature to show kindness.

甲児
「でも、今回は…最後まで見届けますよ。
俺が守った人が神となるのか、悪魔になるのか」
Koji: But, this time... I’m gonna stick it through till the end. And see if the guy I saved will become either a god or a devil.

さやか
「絶対に救いの神様よ、甲児君。
私もいるんだし、大丈夫!」
Sayaka: He’ll be a God of Salvation, no doubt about it, Koji. I’m here too, so we’ll be fine!

甲児
「なら、さやかさんは救いの女神様かい?」
Koji: Does that make you a Goddess of Salvation then?

さやか
「美の女神と言ってほしいわね」
Sayaka: I’d prefer it if you called me a Goddess of Beauty.

甲児
「ヘヘッ、そうかい。さあ、始めようぜ!」
Koji: Heh heh, sure thing. Now, let’s get this started!

アムロ
「ああ、グールを引きずり出すぞ…!」
Amuro: Right. Time to lure out the Ghoul...!

(Battle 1 begins.)

(This line triggers when Amuro battles an enemy.)

アムロ
「同じ機体を何度送り込んできたところで!」
Amuro: Just how many times are they gonna send in the same units!?

(This line triggers if Sayaka battles an enemy.)

さやか
「遅れた分、頑張らなきゃ!」
Sayaka: I have to work hard to make up for being late!

(Battle 1 ends when all enemies are defeated.)

アムロ
「よし、片付いたな」
Amuro: Okay, that’s all of them.

甲児
「アフロダイAがいてくれるだけで、全然違うぜ。
やっぱり頭数は必要だな」
Koji: Aphrodite A being here makes a huge difference. We really need all the help we can get.

アムロ
「ああ、こちらが二人三脚な今、
専属のパイロットがいる機体は心強い」
Amuro: Yeah, now that we’re all working together, I can see how reassuring it is to have a specialist on our side.

弓教授
「諸君、グールが来るぞ!」
Prof. Yumi: The Ghoul is here, everyone!

さやか
「ようやくお出ましね!」
Sayaka: It’s finally come out!

アムロ
「甲児、もうしばらく耐えてくれ」
Amuro: Hang on just a little longer, Koji.

甲児
「ああ、こんな所で気絶なんてするもんか!」
Koji: Don’t worry, I’m not gonna pass out now!


(Scene ends.)

(Next scene picks up where it left off. Mechanical Beasts and Baron Ashura is on the map in his Ghoul.)

甲児
「アムロ大尉、あれが飛行要塞グールだぜ」
Koji: That’s the Flying Fortress Ghoul over there, Lieutenant Amuro.

アムロ
「まるでガルダ級だな…!」
Amuro: It’s a lot like a Garuda...!

あしゅら男爵
「兜甲児に重傷を負わせ、ガンダムを
行動不能にしたという報告はなんだったのだ!」
Baron Ashura: I thought it was reported that Koji Kabuto was seriously wounded and the Gundam was rendered inoperable!

甲児
「その情報は間違っちゃいねえぜ、あしゅら男爵!」
Koji: Your info isn’t wrong, Baron Ashura!

あしゅら男爵
「兜甲児!?
お前が操縦しているのではないのか!?」
Baron Ashura: Koji Kabuto!? You’re still piloting!?

甲児
「見りゃわかるだろうが!」
Koji: Take a good look and maybe you’ll figure it out!

あしゅら男爵
「確かに…違う男が操縦席にいる!
何者だ、そいつは!」
Baron Ashura: Wait... There’s another man piloting! Who is that!?

さやか
「アムロ・レイ大尉よ!
名前ぐらい聞いたことあるでしょ!」
Sayaka: Lieutenant Amuro Ray! I’m sure you heard the name before!

あしゅら男爵
「アムロ・レイ…!
『連邦の白い悪魔』か!」
Baron Ashura: Amuro Ray...! The Federation’s “White Devil”!

アムロ
「どんな文献を見たのか知らないが、
実際にそう呼ばれた覚えはない」
Amuro: I don’t know where you heard that from, but I don’t remember ever actually being called that.

アムロ
「そして、甲児…俺は神にもならない。
人として、持てる力を使う」
Amuro: And Koji... I’m not a god either. I’m just a person, doing what he can.

甲児
「アムロ大尉…!」
Koji: Lieutenant Amuro...!

あしゅら男爵
「どのみち、敵はマジンガーZとアフロダイAのみ!
援軍が来る前に片付けてくれる!」
Baron Ashura: Regardless, Mazinger Z and Aphrodite A are the only enemies! I’ll do away with you before your reinforcements arrive!

アムロ
「お前はここに来るのが遅かったのさ。
おかげで、この機体の扱いに慣れた」
Amuro: You took too long getting here. Because of that, I’ve had time to get used to this machine.

アムロ
「ラー・カイラムの救援を待つまでもない。
俺たちの手でグールを沈めてみせる…!」
Amuro: We don’t need to wait for the Ra Cailum to rescue us. We’ll bring down the Ghoul with our own hands...!

(Battle 2 begins.)

(This exchange triggers if Amuro battles Baron Ashura.)

あしゅら男爵
「アムロ・レイ!
マジンガーの首ごとねじり切ってくれるわ!」
Baron Ashura: Amuro Ray! I’m going take Mazinger’s head right off!

甲児
「俺もまとめてか!
欲張るじゃねえか、あしゅら男爵!」
Koji: Trying to take us both out at once, huh!? I think that’s a bit much for you, Baron Ashura!

あしゅら男爵
「怪我人の分際でその余裕はなんだ!?
我らを甘く見るな!」
Baron Ashura: Does someone who can barely move have any right to say that!? Don’t look down on me!

甲児
「お前こそ甘く見るんじゃねえ!
今のマジンガーZをな!」
Koji: You’re the one looking down on us! And especially Mazinger Z!

(This exchange triggers if Sayaka battles Baron Ashura.)

あしゅら男爵
「アフロダイAごときが! 引っ込んでいろ!」
Baron Ashura: Begone, Aphrodite A! You stay out of this!

さやか
「それはこっちの台詞よ! 覚悟しなさい!」
Sayaka: That’s what I should say to you! Now get ready!

(Battle 2 ends when Baron Ashura’s HP is 30% or lower.)

甲児
「正直言って、今回はてめえにしてやられたぜ!
だがな、運が悪かったんだよ!
アムロ・レイ大尉が一緒にいたからな!」
Koji: If I’m honest, you nearly had me this time! But luck wasn’t on your side! Because Lieutenant Amuro Ray was here with me!

あしゅら男爵
「ぬうう!
かくなる上はこのグールをぶつけてやるわ!」
Baron Ashura: Ngh! I’ll take the Ghoul into the air and crush you from above!

甲児
「やらせるかよ!
大尉、最大出力でブレストファイヤー発射だ!」
Koji: Not if we can help it! Lieutenant, use the Breast Fire at maximum output!

アムロ
「ああ!」
Amuro: Right!

(Amuro uses Breast Fire on Baron Ashura. A battle animation begins.)

アムロ
「もらったぞ!」
Amuro: I’ve got you now!

アムロ
「燃え尽きろ!」
Amuro: Burn to nothing!

(The battle animation ends. Baron Ashura is defeated.)

あしゅら男爵
「お、覚えておれ、兜甲児、アムロ・レイ!
この恨み、この屈辱…必ず晴らしてやるぞ!」
Baron Ashura: I-I’ll remember this, Koji Kabuto! Amuro Ray! I will have revenge for this...this humiliation!

アムロ
「撤退したか…」
Amuro: He retreated...

甲児
「ふう~っ、やれやれ…」
Koji: Phew, good grief...

さやか
「甲児君、アムロ大尉、
ロンド・ベル隊が来てくれたわ!」
Sayaka: Koji, Lieutenant Amuro, Londo Bell has arrived!

(The Ra Cailum, Kamille, and Four appear.)

カミーユ
「やっぱり、vガンダムがいない…」
Kamille: I knew it, Nu Gundam here...

甲児
「遅かったじゃねえか、カミーユ。
あしゅら男爵はさっき尻尾を巻いて逃げやがったぜ」
Koji: You’re late to the party, Kamille. We already sent Baron Ashura packing with his tail between his legs.

カミーユ
「甲児、アムロ大尉は…?」
Kamille: Koji, what happened to Lieutenant Amuro...?

アムロ
「ここだ」
Amuro: I’m here.

甲児
「そっからじゃ、
マジンガーのコックピットは見えねえか?」
Koji: Can he not see us in Mazinger’s cockpit?

カミーユ
「どういうことだ?
大尉は今、どこに?」
Kamille: What’s going on? Lieutenant, where are you?

アムロ
「事情を話すと長くなるが…そうだな」
Amuro: It’s kind of a long story... Oh yeah.

アムロ
「…黒鉄の城さ」
Amuro: ...I guess you could say I’m in a Black Iron Castle.

アストナージ
「vガンダムはすぐに修理するが…
散々な目に遭ったな」
Astonaige: We’re doing repairs on Nu Gundam right now... But man, you must have really went through a tough time.

アムロ
「そうでもないさ。
あの戦いは、vガンダムのテストデータ以上の
価値があった」
Amuro: I wouldn’t say that. And the battle had more value than just providing test data for Nu Gundam too.

アストナージ
「しかし、マジンガーZにアムロがねえ。
想像できんなあ」
Astonaige: But still, Amuro in Mazinger Z. I can’t even imagine it.

甲児
「…なあなあ、いいじゃねえか、カミーユ!
俺が乗るなら、あれしかねえんだよ!」
Koji: ...Oh come on, it’ll be fine, Kamille! This is the only way I’ll get to pilot one!

カミーユ
「駄目だ。
それにゼットガンダムじゃないって、
何度も言ってるだろう」
Kamille: Not a chance. And I’ve told you over and over again it’s not the Zeto Gundam.

甲児
「変形するロボットって操縦したことがねえから、
腕が治ったら乗りたいんだよ!」
Koji: I’ve never piloted a robot that can transform, so I wanna give it a shot as soon as my arms are healed up!

アストナージ
「やめとけ。ゼータはピーキーな機体だからな」
Astonaige: Give it up. The Zeta’s a real picky machine.

アムロ
「それより、甲児…腕の具合はどうだ?」
Amuro: By the way, Koji... How are your arms doing?

甲児
「しばらく出撃できないけど、
ちゃんと治るって話です」
Koji: They tell me I can’t launch for a while, but I should be fixed up in no time.

アムロ
「よかった。
しっかりと休んでくれ」
Amuro: That’s good to hear. You can take it easy for a while.

甲児
「本当に感謝してます、大尉。
俺だけじゃ、光子力研究所を守れなかった」
Koji: But seriously, thank you, Lieutenant. If it was just me, the Photon Power Lab wouldn’t have been saved.

アムロ
「いや、君は俺を守ってくれたじゃないか。
だから、救われた俺が君に報いた。
それだけだよ」
Amuro: No, you were the one that protected me. I was just returning the favor. That’s all.

甲児
「アムロ大尉…」
Koji: Lieutenant Amuro...

アムロ
「それに、貴重な経験だった。
マジンガーZという機体…
いや、スーパーロボットに乗ったということはね」
Amuro: Besides, it was a valuable experience. Piloting Mazinger Z... Or rather, just piloting a Super Robot at all.
