- "There's more than one underworld. One of them will keep you. Though I do like that even Hades has standards. Some people are just too depraved." Greg looked as the ball was thrown, looking over at her. "Kyn, look out!"
- It was only after she was hit that he steeled himself, holding himself together only barely. Think, think....
- He spoke to the resurrected enemy again. "It's not very unconditional if I want that you let Kyn go unharmed and unmolested, is it?" he asked, keeping his voice level, trying to keep from panicking. Rivers was right. He couldn't risk hurting her. But he did speak nonetheless. "Let her go as I said just now, and I'll think about it. And no, I don't think you'll stay to a deal. Or at least not let me off without giving me the worst end of it." He looked again to Styx, adopting a completely bored expression once more. "Do you even know how this works? This is a video game multiverse. You kill the bad guy before his lackey, and the lackey just gets more powerful and you have to deal with him when he does everything the bad guy does. That's why you kill the lackey first. Far easier."
- Back to "Rivers" again, his voice cracking just a bit. "... let her go. Alright?"
