  1. 01[21:59] <@SpaceThor> With your day off, it's as good a time as any to check back in with Halyna, see how her consumption is progressing.
  2. 06[22:08] * Rowen leaves Max at home this time, and takes a seat nearby Halyna once inside. He smiles at her, 1"How are you feeling?"
  3. 01[22:09] <@SpaceThor> Halyna smiles back, but coughs lightly. "Stronger, a little bit. I can get out of bed sometimes, on good days."
  4. [22:11] <Rowen> "That's great, I'm glad it's working as well as it is. You're really taking to the treatment." 6He begins to gather things from his bag and set them on the table nearby, 1"Few more weeks of this, and who knows. You might be out and running around."
  5. 01[22:11] <@SpaceThor> "I'd like that. Thank you doctor."
  6. 01[22:13] <@SpaceThor> Andriy comes upstairs, sweat on his brow. Mold Hill has been much more alive recently (no pun intended) with the influx of new blood. The farm especially has required a lot of work to produce enough to feed the new arrivals, and it seems Andriy has been helping. He sits down, drinking some water. "Do you need anything, doctor?"
  7. [22:14] <Rowen> "I'd like that as well, so let's get to it then and make it a reality." 6He smiles faintly, 1"Though when we do cure you, you'll still have to go a little slow. Your muscles are, unfortunately, surely weakened from the bed." 6When Andriy arrives he waves, but shakes his head, 1"No, thank you. I was just about to begin this week's round of treatment."
  8. 01[22:18] <@SpaceThor> He nods, and watches patiently.
  9. 06[22:23] * Rowen does his routine of checking up and administering treatment, refills her weekly medicine that he leaves for her and packs his things, 1"Well that should be all for this week, another successful treatment I'd say."
  10. 01[22:24] <@SpaceThor> "Thank you doctor." She nods. Her brother adds. "Thank you. We owe you so much for this."
  11. 06[22:24] * Rowen smiles faintly, 1"Well, I'm going to take a guess and say you're helping with the farming? That's repayment enough, really. People helping each other."
  12. 01[22:25] <@SpaceThor> "But for you personally, I mean."
  13. 01[22:27] <@SpaceThor> "I mean, surely there's something you wish for that I can pay you with?"
  14. 06[22:30] * Rowen shakes his head, a small smile on his face, 1"Not really. I don't mean to be rude, but I'm not doing this for payment or a reward. If I wanted money..." 6He shrugs, leaving 'I could go anywhere and get paid a hell of a lot better' unsaid, 1"It's for me. I wanted to help people with my life."
  15. 01[22:30] <@SpaceThor> He shakes his head, but smiles. "They don't make enough like you, doc."
  16. [22:32] <Rowen> "Unfortunately not." 6He grins and stands, offering a hand to Andiry, 1"Until next week, then?"
  17. 01[22:33] <@SpaceThor> He takes it, shaking it firmly. "We'll be here."
  18. 06[22:34] * Rowen turns and offers a wave to Halyna, 1"Get some rest, I know you're probably sick of hearing but, but it'll help. I'll see you later."
  19. [22:34] <Rowen> 6With that, and with his things packed, Rowen departs, heading back to Dolores' manor.
  20. 01[22:34] <@SpaceThor> Outside, there's a man watching. You recognize him from the first arrival of them, Douglas Matthews, the bounty hunter.
  21. 01[22:34] <@SpaceThor> He acknowledges you with a nod. "Doc."
  22. 06[22:35] * Rowen nods back, 1"Douglas, right?"
  23. 01[22:36] <@SpaceThor> "That's right. And you're Rowen? Where's the pup?"
  24. [22:37] <Rowen> "That's right. I left him home this time," 6He offers a shrug, 1"You need him for something? I can let him know." 6A smirk, joking.
  25. 01[22:38] <@SpaceThor> "Nah, he just reminds me of a pup I had back earthside, when I was working Montana Territory."
  26. [22:39] <Rowen> "Sorry I didn't bring him this time. I'll be sure to next time."
  27. 01[22:40] <@SpaceThor> He nods. "If you find a bitch for him and get a litter, save one for me, eh? I'd love another like ol' Bolt."
  28. 06[22:43] * Rowen smiles, 1"Of course. Though out here, that's a harder prospect than some might think. I guess some that come through the portal don't come out quite right..." 6The thought of this makes him frown, 1"Perhaps why you left Bolt back earthside?"
  29. 01[22:45] <@SpaceThor> He shakes his head. "Lost Bolt a few years back. He had a good, long life, but it caught him eventually."
  30. 06[22:47] * Rowen frowns a little deeper, but nods, 1"Like us all, eventually, I suppose. Glad he had a good life. Same, uh... Profession, back there?"
  31. 01[22:48] <@SpaceThor> He nods. "A lot who got in trouble back East ran West to avoid it. Some of the worse ones get bounties sent all the way out to Billings. That's where I come in. Dig up a mountain hideout, put him on a train back to Philadelphia, or Kansas City, get a nice payday in return."
  32. [22:50] <Rowen> "Is what you do strictly legal? I hear there's some grey area to it all."
  33. 01[22:51] <@SpaceThor> He makes a noncommittal hand gesture. "A lot of it works real close to the line of what's legal and what ain't. Strictly speaking, you can't just clap a man in chains and drag him out of the Rockies unless you got the proper authority."
  34. [22:51] <Rowen> "That matter much out here?"
  35. 01[22:52] <@SpaceThor> "Little bit. The dead part gets real tricky out here."
  36. 01[22:52] <@SpaceThor> "Most times a fella drags a corpse through downtown, a pack of death marshals want a word."
  37. 01[22:53] <@SpaceThor> He pulls out a little pin with a star on it, about the size of a thumbnail. "Get you one of these, they'll walk you to the Guard office at least."
  38. 01[22:54] <@SpaceThor> "If you don't, you're gonna ride there in one of them pine boxes they carry everywhere."
  39. 06[22:54] * Rowen blinks, 1"Dead? Isn't it usually more for alive?"
  40. 01[22:55] <@SpaceThor> "Sure, but sometimes a fella is more dangerous alive. And sometimes the guard stop caring as long as they can get 'em in and put down that they caught a dangerous criminal."
  41. [22:56] <Rowen> "Fair enough. Guess they aren't going to have a bounty on them without earing it."
  42. 01[22:58] <@SpaceThor> He nods. "Train robbers, and killers, mostly."
  43. 01[22:58] <@SpaceThor> "Nobody's gonna pay twenty dollars for a horse thief 'less it was their horse got took."
  44. [22:59] <Rowen> "Paying 20 dollars may as well get a new horse... But I can't say that I blame them, we get attached to animals that are around us all the time."
  45. 01[22:59] <@SpaceThor> He nods. "Ain't that the truth."
  46. 01[23:01] <@SpaceThor> He stands up, dusting himself off. "Speakin of work though, I better get back to it. Some nut who went crazy with a knife in the slums is supposed to be around here somewhere, and someone's gotta bring him back in. Talk to you later, doc."
  47. [23:02] <Rowen> "Around here? Hope you find him. If some nut gets a lucky shot in, you know where to find me." 6He offers a wave goodbye, and continues back up to the manor.
  48. 01[23:03] <@SpaceThor> He starts heading out into the wilderness of the Quarantine Zone.
