  1. RosenkrantzGM IT IS THE 41ST MILLENNIUM...
  2. RosenkrantzGM The Green and Gold soldiers defending the town begin to gather around the central square, they come to see the Priest, and when they do, they bow in his presence.
  3. RosenkrantzGM Their language is rooted in Low-Gothic, with only some words remaining the same. Their officers, however, appear to speak Low Gothic proper. It would seem it is the language of the learned in their society.
  4. Lucrezia slowly approaches the town and Caerwyn's position, trying to look as non-threatening as she can be.
  5. Neue-Ziel follows Lucrezia with his servitor.
  6. RosenkrantzGM The troops belong to a faction the locals call the 'Grand Duchy of Ethym'. Duchy troops see Caerwyn as the promised saviour. The “Lost Son” of the last Emperor, Epathus. Only the High Priests of the Sky Rock preserve the lost language of the Emperors. Upon hearing the priest’s High Gothic, they recognize it as the speech of the Imperial bloodline.
  7. Caerwyn_Beraht is swinging his censer hither and yon, getting the rose scented smoke splashing all across the square. "Mea Frateris," he cries, in a fit of holy fervor. "Mea Frateris, He has returned to deliver you from the darkness! Rejoice! Rejoice and praise his name!"
  8. RosenkrantzGM The Sky Rock is worshipped by all factions equally as the place from which the voice of their entombed God speaks to humanity.
  9. RosenkrantzGM Their theology is based around a god, the Lord of the Skies, who in creating them entombed himself in the Sky Rock to forever watch over and protect his creation. He gives up his freedom in order to provide for the planet’s population.
  10. RosenkrantzGM Their commander is one Marshall Stanton Vandire. He is in command of the Dutchy's troops in this war.
  11. RosenkrantzGM Vandire: "The Kingdom of Naegord, my Emperor, wages war on our unprotected towns."
  12. Lucrezia lets Caerwyn speak and deal with the situation for now, not like her approach worked all that great.
  13. RosenkrantzGM He's a man of some 50 years, he has snow-white hair, bushy eyebrows, and facial hair tracing his jaw-line stopping a few inches before his chin. He has the air of a veteran warrior, and by the distance his men keep from him, he is clearly deeply respected.
  14. Caerwyn_Beraht scratches his chin before wrapping his censer around his waist once more. "And why is this so, my son? Do they have a reason to disrupt the halcyon hills of this place?"
  15. RosenkrantzGM Vandire: "My Emperor, they wish to take from us your gift. We have recently found one of the Sky Rock's Ancient Gifts, and begun excavating. That vile wench, Queen Leasah, ignores the Duke's sovereignty!"
  16. RosenkrantzGM Vandire: "But your presence here, your Imperial Grace, proves to us our cause is just," he bows his head.
  17. RosenkrantzGM Vandire: "She means to take the excavation site for herself, the Holy gift you have so generously given us."
  18. Neue-Ziel [Rogue Cant] "Holy Gift?"
  19. Lucrezia looks at Caerwyn before speaking in High Gothic. "You might want to inquire about this Holy Gift."
  20. Caerwyn_Beraht lays a hand upon the man's shoulder. "And such base banditry must be forfended. Allow me to counsel with my peers, good sir, so that we can divine the will of the Lord of the Sky. Praytell, do you know the nature of this holy gift?"
  21. RosenkrantzGM The locals all turn and face Lucrezia, eyes wide.
  22. RosenkrantzGM Vandire: "She, too? Your Imperial Grace, you honor us!"
  23. Caerwyn_Beraht glances over at Lucrezia, and grins. "Haec amant lingua, hm? [They love this tongue, hm?]"
  24. RosenkrantzGM Vandire: "My Emperor, I thought you might know. We only have uncovered the Halls of Steel, we have yet to excavate sufficiently far to know what is held within."
  25. Lucrezia looks at the group and then at Caerwyn, attempting to appear dignified and continuing to use High Gothic. "Seems like it."
  26. Neue-Ziel checks his backpack to make sure "Passions in Battle 2" is undamaged.
  27. Caerwyn_Beraht "Lay your eyes upon her Imperial grace, my son. Her presence does indeed honor you." Caerwyn listens and nods along. "Ah, I suspected as much. Let me confer with my peers. We shall pursue the abeyance of this effrontery and restore peace to the Lord of Sky's realm. Excuse me."
  28. RosenkrantzGM Vandire: "You are Just, your Imperial Grace." he bows his head and backs away, giving you space.
  29. Caerwyn_Beraht herds his companions away from the gawking crowd of primitives, beaming all the way. Finally, he thinks, people who can appreciate his importance.
  30. Neue-Ziel "You seem happy, Priestboy."
  31. Lucrezia turns to Caerwyn once they were far enough from the crowd. "Are we two basically demi-gods now?"
  32. RosenkrantzGM Bolton: "We've got the manpower to take care of things much quicker than that, my Lady..." he says, apparently annoyed by the locals' superstitions.
  33. Caerwyn_Beraht "Lord Ziel," He whispers. "You must understand that it's a relief to find people who actually understand the pride and legacy I carry with me everywhere I go. And yes, Lucrezia. We should formulate a proper image to present to these heathens so we can better set them on the path of righteounsess."
  34. Caerwyn_Beraht "Now," He announces. "Lord Ziel, you are the resident tech-sutler. Can you divine anything from what these heathens are blabbering about? 'Halls of Steel', or what have you?"
  35. =-= RosenkrantzGM has changed the topic to “HIS IMPERIAL HIGHNESS, EMPEROR CAERWYN I”
  36. Lucrezia "Yes, we should but this is a bit of a short notice, no? And yes, what halls of steel and excavation? Also, maybe we should pay a visit to this Queen? I feel like I'd get along with her well?"
  37. Caerwyn_Beraht takes a little holy water and sprinkles his hands. He nods along with the seneschal, little affirmatives streaming from his mouth.
  38. Lucrezia then turns to Bolton. "I'd rather avoid that for now, Hayden."
  39. Neue-Ziel "A metal corridor possibly from a buried ship or some sort of construct. It is difficult to know without seeing it."
  40. Lucrezia "Hmm... considering what our boss knows that might belong to his line."
  41. RosenkrantzGM Outside, the Marshal calls out to his troops and his men begin to form parade formations outside, banners waving, men standing at attention.
  42. Caerwyn_Beraht claps his hands together. "Ah, what a quaint little display. I will grow to like these wonderful little creatures in time at all I suspect. Shall we entertain them for a little while longer before hunting down this Queen?"
  43. Lucrezia "I say we go meet the Queen and the Duke as soon as possible. And then look into the excavation and Sky Rock business. Hmm, maybe one of us goes to the Queen and one to the Duke?"
  44. Neue-Ziel "It has to be one of you 'demi-gods'."
  45. Caerwyn_Beraht "No no, we are going to want to put on a united front for this one. We shall appear before the frightened primitives as a holy band in the service of the God-Emperor."
  46. Lucrezia "Right... then let's go see the Duke. As much as I want to meet this Queen. Also... does this Marshall's last name ring any bells?"
  47. Caerwyn_Beraht bites his lower lip. "It must be a coincidence, dear seneschal. Isolations has no doubt blinded them to the fac tthat the Vandire name is Dross and out of favor."
  48. Caerwyn_Beraht "At least, God-Emperor willing, that is the way it is. Come, let us bid these people farewell and pay a visit to that Queen."
  49. Caerwyn_Beraht heads back to the parading formation of troopers, sprinkling holy water and cantillating the whole way.
  50. Lucrezia "Lead the way oh great Emissary of the skies."
  51. RosenkrantzGM Marshal Vandire: "Your Imperial Highness, allow us to escort you to the residence of Duke Aurelian. He like myself, are your humble servants!"
  52. Caerwyn_Beraht smiles in a gentle, paternal manner, recalling the way his father used to smile at him when he had the fortune of visiting him. "Lead the way, my son. It would please me to visit such a loyal servant."
  53. RosenkrantzGM Vandire: "Forgive us for the insufficient transport, your Imperial Grace. All we have are the cannon carriages. Unless... your steel beast can transport you?" he says looking out to the field where the Aquila landed.
  54. Caerwyn_Beraht looks over to his steed and grins sheepishly.
  55. Caerwyn_Beraht "I suppose we shall, my good man. Would you care to join us?"
  56. RosenkrantzGM Marshal Vandire: "My Emperor..." he dismounts, "you do me much honor," he bows.
  57. Neue-Ziel [Rogue Cant] "This doesn't seem like a good idea."
  58. Lucrezia looks at Ziel and waves at him dismissively.
  59. Neue-Ziel sighs.
  60. Neue-Ziel "Omnissiah help us."
  61. RosenkrantzGM Rising, he calls for one of his commanders. "Take the Army to the Ducal Residence, Colonel. The Duke must know of the return of the Imperial bloodline."
  62. RosenkrantzGM He approaches you, then, keeping a respectful distance.
  63. Caerwyn_Beraht motions for Vandire to follow closer as he waves goodbye to the assembled peoples. "
  64. RosenkrantzGM He slowly closes the distance.
  65. Caerwyn_Beraht "Expande verbumium ! Et reddidit ! Benedicite omni!"
  66. Lucrezia tries to look as the more militarist of the two, maybe she could be some cool warrior deity?
  67. Caerwyn_Beraht gives the crowd one last wave before entering the aquila.
  68. Neue-Ziel enters the Aquila.
  69. RosenkrantzGM The Marshal shyly climbs aboard, looking all around him, curious, confused, amazed.
  70. Caerwyn_Beraht straps himself in, dreamily sighing. He wipes off some of the accumulated waste and dirt on his boots before looking at the marshal. "A wonderful steed, eh? Please, make yourself comfortable."
  71. Lucrezia makes her way to the cockpit and closes the door behind her before speaking. "Hey, we have a native passanger. Don't speak into the passanger compartment."
  72. Caerwyn_Beraht "Also...please don't track mud on the deckplate. It's really...eugh."
  73. Neue-Ziel straps his servitor in. Afterwards, Ziel takes a seat and straps himself in.
  74. RosenkrantzGM Marshal Vandire: "I... I am at a loss for words. How will the beast know where to go?"
  75. RosenkrantzGM Pilot: "Where are we going to, my Lady?"
  76. Caerwyn_Beraht "The Lord of the Sky's will shall guide it, my good man. In its heart it desires nothing more than to obey its God."
  77. Lucrezia returns and seats next to Caerywn, speaking in High Gothic. "Hey, were are we going? Our flyboys need coordinates."
  78. RosenkrantzGM Vandire: "Of course, of course... the holy beast knows His will." he nods attentively.
  79. Neue-Ziel makes the sign of the Omnissiah and say [Techna-lingua] "Omnissiah. Please, forgive this man's ignorance."
  80. Neue-Ziel [Techna-lingua] "And the heresy spoken by the Priestboy."
  81. Caerwyn_Beraht looks dumbstruck, and starts to sweat a little. "I don't know where we are going, ma'am. I thought the auspex would help us be privy to that information. Surely it can detect the large structure in which this despot no doubt lives", he replies in high gothic.
  82. Lucrezia "However, knowing what the persons riding it wish also helps. Part of how it works. Shout it into this vessel." She then opens a comm channel into the cockpit. Making it a one way communication."
  83. RosenkrantzGM "It understands by ritual... you wish me to take part in it? You... you do me much honor, your Grace."
  84. Caerwyn_Beraht "The Lord of Sky recognizes the worthy, my son. Do it. Say your will."
  85. Neue-Ziel unstraps himself and heads towards the cockpit. Ziel uses the augar arrays.
  86. RosenkrantzGM "Past the Planes of Gold! On the Duke's Road, and over the Strongwood Bridge, to my Liege, Duke Aurelian!" he calls, his face bright with pride.
  87. RosenkrantzGM The Auger arrays activate, mapping your surroundings in detail.
  88. Lucrezia smiles softly at the man, carrying a motherly hint to Caerwyn's paternal demeanor.
  89. RosenkrantzGM Pilot: "You will guide me, then, Master Ziel?"
  90. Neue-Ziel "Of course."
  91. Caerwyn_Beraht raises his arms to the sky. "Hear hear! Fugitum, bestius tua nobilite!"
  92. Neue-Ziel [Techna-lingua] "I'm surrounded by idiots."
  93. RosenkrantzGM The Marshal's expression of complete bliss turns into one of deep concern once the engines fire up and screech as the Aquila lifts off.
  94. RosenkrantzGM Vandire: "Have I angered the beast, my Emperor? I beseech your forgiveness!"
  95. Lucrezia shakes her head as she quickly straps him in. "Part of the ritual." She then does the same.
  96. Caerwyn_Beraht "You mistake its roar of triumph for one of anger. You may want to strap yourself in, as I have, my good man. Lest the beast throw you with its furious motion."
  97. RosenkrantzGM "Yes, yes, of course. I thank you, your Grace for your protection."
  98. RosenkrantzGM The Aquila climbs, and the Auger arrays reveal more and more along the horizon. It is a large amount of information, but the pattern begins to emerge.
  99. RosenkrantzGM Beyond the planes to the North-West, you find a network of metaled roads, leading to a bridge - a solid wooden construct. Beyond it, lies a settlement protected by a large stone keep.
  100. Caerwyn_Beraht prays silently, sprinkling holy water on his boots, his gloves, and his face. "I pray the duke will be as obsequieous as the rest of these simpletons," Caerwyn mutters in High Gothic. "God-Emperor willing, this planet will be ours by the morrow."
  101. Neue-Ziel "Follow the roads until we reach a settlement."
  102. RosenkrantzGM Pilot: "Of course, my Lord."
  103. RosenkrantzGM The Aquila speeds up, then, heading towards the planes. The Marshal's face is that of a child living in a wonderful dream. He looks outside the viewports completely amazed, never having seen these lands from anything like this perspective.
  104. Lucrezia responds using the now holier tongue. "Hopefully. With any luck the Queen will submit as well."
  105. Caerwyn_Beraht nods as he joins Vandire in his reverie.
  106. RosenkrantzGM The plains become a slightly wooded area, roads clearing lines of trees. At some distance, a river flows, and large clearance atop a hill reveals a town, walled, with a Keep at its highest point.
  107. RosenkrantzGM Pilot: "Am I to land inside?"
  108. Neue-Ziel "Affirmative."
  109. RosenkrantzGM As the Aquila closes the distance, it comes to a hover.
  110. RosenkrantzGM Pilot: "We have... lots of movement down there."
  111. RosenkrantzGM The pilot slowly maneuvers the Aquila closer.
  112. Caerwyn_Beraht leans forward, a little apprehensive, trying to divine movement through the view port.
  113. Neue-Ziel "They will move or risk getting crushed."
  114. RosenkrantzGM You hear a loud bang on the lander's hull.
  115. RosenkrantzGM Pilot: "They're... firing at us. Some sort of projectile. Not very effective."
  116. Lucrezia rushes to the cockpit. "This thing has loud hailers?"
  117. RosenkrantzGM Pilot: "I'm afraid not, my Lady. I do have the autocannon ready to fire, however..."
  118. Neue-Ziel "A few warning shots should make them stop."
  119. Lucrezia "Don't. Just bring it down as quickly as you can."
  120. RosenkrantzGM Another projectile flies just over the cockpit. The lance-like object missing entirely.
  121. Neue-Ziel "Just land this vessel."
  122. Caerwyn_Beraht hurriedly unstraps himself with a sigh. "More simp- I mean, lost souls, that need educating it seems. Bring us down."
  123. Lucrezia blinks as the projectile passes in front of them. "Was that a ginat crossbow bolt?"
  124. Neue-Ziel [Rogue Cant] "I told you this was a bad idea."
  125. RosenkrantzGM The pilot quickly lands the craft.
  126. Caerwyn_Beraht begins growing impatient, pacing and praying in equal measure. He eagerly awaits for the drop ramp to come down.
  127. RosenkrantzGM The inhabitants surround you in a matter of seconds, weapons drawn and ready to fire.
  128. Neue-Ziel "Tell the Priestboy to speak his non-sense."
  129. Lucrezia moves to the passanger compartment and speaks in High Gothic. "You might want to talk them down."
  130. Caerwyn_Beraht replies in high gothic as well. "That was the plan, Lucrezia. Pray for me."
  131. RosenkrantzGM Vandire: "Forgive them, your Imperial Grace! They act out of ignorance and fear!"
  132. RosenkrantzGM The drop ramp slowly opens.
  133. Lucrezia for once does pray for the priest.
  134. Caerwyn_Beraht adjusts his black armor, making sure the golden accourtments of his station remain immaculate. He takes a big gulp of breath, facing the slowly dropping ramp with a touch of fear.
  135. Neue-Ziel gets up and unstraps his servitor. Afterwards, he readies his boltgun.
  136. RosenkrantzGM The ramp opens up to its widest, revealing the line of soldiers standing several meters away, primitive weapons aimed towards you.
  137. Lucrezia clears her throat and shouts in their holy tongue. "LAY DOWN YOUR ARMS!" In an authoritative tone.
  138. RosenkrantzGM "Double ranks!"
  139. RosenkrantzGM The formation shifts, adding another line of infantry.
  140. Neue-Ziel exits the Aquila with his servitor at his side.
  141. Caerwyn_Beraht extends his arms outward, plaintively demanding the surcease of violence. "My sons, please, recognize reason! Marshall, tell these men to lay down their arms!"
  142. RosenkrantzGM The Marshall rushes out in front of you, sword drawn, barking orders in the local tongue.
  143. RosenkrantzGM "Commanders, you will restrain your men, or be executed!" he then directs himself to the officers.
  144. Caerwyn_Beraht lets the man pass and wrangle his fellows. Why not let his subordinates do the work for him?
  145. RosenkrantzGM The officers echo the Marshall's orders, and the soldiers all shoulder their weapons.
  146. Lucrezia .
  147. RosenkrantzGM Vandire: "Bow, brothers, for you stand in the presence of the Lost Son!"
  148. Caerwyn_Beraht "Et unum solumus, my children. The Lord of the Sky has sent me to act on his behalf!"
  149. Neue-Ziel says to Lucrezia [Rogue Cant] "Lost Son?"
  150. RosenkrantzGM "Long live the Emperor!" one officer calls.
  151. Lucrezia shrugs, looking kind of annoyed.
  152. RosenkrantzGM Soon, the entire garrison cheers.
  153. Caerwyn_Beraht struts forward, drunk on power just a little. "Hear hear! Praise him! Praise him until your throats are hoarse!"
  154. Lucrezia walks up towards Caerwyn before whispering in High Gothic. "Don't get too ahead of yourself, 'son'."
  155. Caerwyn_Beraht puts his arma round Lucrezia's shoulder and lets out a hearty chuckle. "Just doing my job," He says in High gothic, tittering like a little boy pulling an inspiried prank.
  156. RosenkrantzGM The commotion catches the attention of those inside the Keep. An ornate squad of Guard walks out, being escorted at their center, a crowned man approaches.
  157. RosenkrantzGM Vandire: "Your Grace!"
  158. RosenkrantzGM A tall man, of broad shoulders, and a healthy, robust weight. A majestic auburn beard, and full head of hair. The man must be in his mid 40’s, and has the build of a warrior.
  159. Lucrezia smiles and puts her arm around his waist before pulling him in tightly. [High Gothic.] "I'm just saying that you ought to be careful of making promises you can't keep."
  160. Neue-Ziel is clearly annoyed.
  161. RosenkrantzGM "What in the name of the Rock is this all about?! Who have you brou--" the man stops, hearing Lucrezia speak.
  162. RosenkrantzGM His eyes open wide.
  163. Lucrezia smiles at the man.
  164. Caerwyn_Beraht turns his head to look at the approaching regal figure. He pats her shoulder on last time before turning his attentions fully to the duke. "Salve, Dux."
  165. RosenkrantzGM Vandire: "Your Grace... the prophecies are fulfilled. The Children of Epathus are here, in our presence!"
  166. RosenkrantzGM The Duke, instantly kneels before you, removing his crown.
  167. RosenkrantzGM He holds it in both hands, and raises it in front of him, presenting it to you.
  168. Lucrezia looks at Caerwyn.
  169. RosenkrantzGM "My Emperor... I am your humble servant."
  170. Caerwyn_Beraht lays his hands gingerly upon the crown, taking it for a moment and sprinkling some holy water on it. He lays it upon the Duke's head once more. "Sanctitium. Pietas . Regimentis. Rise my son, and be regarded by a Child of Epathus. I know you to be Duke of these people, your rightful role in the eyes of the Lord of the Sky. Stand up, my son, and be proud.
  171. RosenkrantzGM The man slowly rises, and he looks in your eyes for the first time. "My Liege... you are Kind and Just. I shall forever serve, in your name."
  172. Neue-Ziel pulls out "Passions in Battle 2" and starts reading.
  173. Caerwyn_Beraht "Serve in my name and His as well. Hear the first task I bequeath upon thee: I need to know everything about that queen, the one they call Leasah. Why does she vex you so?"
  174. RosenkrantzGM A small boy exits the Keep, running. He stops when he sees the Aquila. His eyes then turn to the Techpriest and his servitor. With the fearless curiosity of a young mind, he rushes to the Red-robed figure, and grabs his leg, amazed.
  175. RosenkrantzGM He then turns to the servitor, and examines it.
  176. Neue-Ziel stops reading and says to the boy "Ah.. hello?"
  177. RosenkrantzGM Aurelian: "Tobias! Stand back, boy!"
  178. Lucrezia "Oh, no no, it's quite alright. Who is this boy?"
  179. RosenkrantzGM Aurelian: "I apologize for my son, your Grace... he knows not who you are."
  180. RosenkrantzGM The boy shyly backs away, and walks to his father, finally standing behind him.
  181. Caerwyn_Beraht looks wistfully at the little boy, a rheumy nostalgia forming across his eyes. It's like looking a ghost, a piece of his past in the present.
  182. Neue-Ziel [Rogue Cant] "That was... confusing."
  183. Caerwyn_Beraht "It's quite okay, sir. Curiousity in all matters holy is the bedrock of rationality and understanding. He may sate his mind as he sees fit."
  184. Lucrezia turns to Ziel. [Rogue Cant] "I think it was adorable. Maybe you should let him go along with you?"
  185. RosenkrantzGM Aurelian: "Your steel servant may soon grow tired, my Emperor. He can be quite incessant."
  186. Neue-Ziel opens his backpack and place his book. He says to Lucrezia [Rogue Cant] "And do what exactly? Tech him the the ways of the machine spirits?"
  187. Lucrezia thinks for a moment. [Rogue Trader Cant] "Entertain him, and yes, maybe teach him the first few steps. Although carefully."
  188. Caerwyn_Beraht "Master Ziel is one of the puissant steel tenders I know. He'll keep up with the boy, despite the challenge."
  189. Caerwyn_Beraht turns to the Tech-Priest and grins.
  190. Neue-Ziel [Rogue Cant] "I guess we can present him with a test."
  191. Neue-Ziel *we can test him
  192. RosenkrantzGM "Please, come inside. I will tell you all you wish to know of that snake Leasah. No-doubt her transgressions offend your holy bloodline."
  193. RosenkrantzGM The boy slowly steps away from his father, his eyes unable to leave the sight of the techpriest.
  194. Neue-Ziel makes the sign of the Machine God.
  195. RosenkrantzGM The boy looks down at his own two hands, and mimics the hand sign.
  196. Caerwyn_Beraht "Ah! Certainly. Come, I wish to hear everything I can about this...'queen'."
  197. Lucrezia can't help but d'aww a little at the boy.
  198. Neue-Ziel smiles.
  199. Varenus_Grandier meets the group after taking notes of the surrounding area
  200. RosenkrantzGM The boy smiles back, giggling.
  201. Varenus_Grandier "Hello, what have I missed?"
  202. RosenkrantzGM You are escorted into the stone Keep, and to a large open Hall.
  203. RosenkrantzGM At the far end stands a tall, long table.
  204. Caerwyn_Beraht leans in and whispers to Varenus, trying to catch the mutant up on events.
  205. Caerwyn_Beraht tears away from Vaernus and follows the Duke to the table, swaying his censer around so he can conscerate the surrounding area.
  206. Varenus_Grandier nods and documents the information
  207. RosenkrantzGM Aurelian takes a seat, and motions you to do the same.
  208. Lucrezia waits for Caerwyn to sit before following suit.
  209. Varenus_Grandier takes a seat
  210. Caerwyn_Beraht sprinkles some holy water on the seat before taking it. His decorum insist that he leave his elbows off thet able and legs close together, but his nervousness is making his person look a little loose. He looks at the Duke intently.
  211. Neue-Ziel commands his servitor to stay in standby mode and takes a sit.
  212. RosenkrantzGM The Duke sighs.
  213. Caerwyn_Beraht tries to soften his gaze, putting on airs of sympathy. "Does this issue distress you greatly?"
  214. RosenkrantzGM "As you no-doubt know, I have claimed the lands near the excavation. The local free-cities bent the knee, understanding my Right to rule... in your name, of course. The site of the Ancient Gift is undoubtedly your gift to us. Your arrival confirms your most gracious will."
  215. RosenkrantzGM "Routing Leasah's army has inspired the men in unshakable faith for our cause. She refuses to recognize the Dutchy's claim, insisting on the neutrality of the Free Cities, and thus claiming the sight for herself. Your gift, my Emperor, to us. She means to steal it, to defy your will!"
  216. Lucrezia "We were considering paying her a visit and offering mercy."
  217. RosenkrantzGM "She is undeserving of your mercy, but you are kind, and just. You are children of Epathus, and yours is the better judgement."
  218. RosenkrantzGM Aurelian's son roams into the hall, and stands next to the Enginseer's seat.
  219. Caerwyn_Beraht nods along with the conversation, ruminating on the circumstances. "I am intrigued by this snake. We should pay her a visit, then. I would prefer an accord be struck, for each death is an affront to the Lord of the Sky. He wishes all his servants to serve him in unity, peacably if possible but violently if necessary."
  220. RosenkrantzGM Aurelian: "Even she shall have to submit to you. Yours is this Empire. The Dutchy of Ethym, and her Nergord Kingdom are both but subjects to your Holy Will."
  221. RosenkrantzGM "With her army in full retreat, thanks to your righteous intervention, the Ducal Army shall secure the Halls of Steel and uncover that which you have given us."
  222. Caerwyn_Beraht "True enough. I think it is time we pay her a visit. Gentlemen?" He turns to his companions, prompting them for an opinion.
  223. Varenus_Grandier "Indeed, let us see this woman."
  224. Lucrezia clears her throat before standing up. "I agree. And we wish the Halls to be undisturbed until we give permission. Your army is to secure it only."
  225. Caerwyn_Beraht In the meantime, he turns to the duke. "If you are to secure those Halls, caution your men against plumbing its depths. That place is sacrosanct and any unhallowed steps upon it may anger the our Lord. "
  226. Caerwyn_Beraht rises to his feet as well. "Duke Aurelian, my son, thank you for entertaining my line of questioning. I am sorry I cannot tarry longer in your august realm, but my duties send me elsewhere."
  227. Neue-Ziel stands up and orders his servitor to follow him.
  228. RosenkrantzGM Aurelian: "You have honored us all with your presence," he nods.
  229. Varenus_Grandier takes a bow and adjust his headscarf
  230. RosenkrantzGM The boy follows close behind the tech-priest.
  231. Caerwyn_Beraht heads back out to the aquila, rubbing his hands nervoulsy. "I fear we may have thrown our lot in with a tyrant," Caerwyn says in High Gothic.
  232. Lucrezia responds in the same language. "We will see..."
  233. Neue-Ziel looks behind him and sees the boy following him.
  234. RosenkrantzGM Aurelian: "Tobias! Get back in here, boy. They have important matters to attend to."
  235. RosenkrantzGM The boy stops.
  236. Neue-Ziel stops and removes a de-activated Fetch from the top of the Shock staff.
  237. Neue-Ziel presents the Servo-skull to the boy and asks "Do you sense anything?"
  238. Caerwyn_Beraht turns to the bid the boy farewell. "Remember your studies!" He admonishes, trying to encourage the boy to follow the scholarly path.
  239. Varenus_Grandier pats the boys head as he passes
  240. RosenkrantzGM The boy places his hands on the skull, somehow amazed by it. He studies it closely, scanning every inch of its construct with his young wide eyes.
  241. RosenkrantzGM He mimics the sign of the Omnissiah again, and bows to the skull, giggling, a big smile on his face.
  242. Neue-Ziel commands the skull to activate using binary.
  243. RosenkrantzGM The boys face lights up in awe as his eyes fix upon the living skull. Under his breath, he expresses his amazement, "whoa..."
  244. RosenkrantzGM He stretches his arm out, trying to touch the floating skull.
  245. Neue-Ziel commands the skull to lower into the boy's reach.
  246. Neue-Ziel "This is the energy. The Life of the Machine Spirit. The gift of the Machine God. "
  247. RosenkrantzGM He places his index finger on the glowing red eye, and then pulls his hand back again. He looks intently up at you, nodding.
  248. Neue-Ziel orders in binary to follow the boy's commands and record/observe the experience.
  249. Neue-Ziel "Take good care of Fetch. I'll be back for him."
  250. RosenkrantzGM A smile from ear to ear shows the boy's gratitude and amazement.
  251. RosenkrantzGM He nods up and down.
  252. Neue-Ziel "Praise the Omnissiah." Ziel makes the sign of the Omnissiah, then leaves for the Aquila.
  253. RosenkrantzGM The boy makes the sign and bows, excited to have the Skull with him.
  254. Caerwyn_Beraht is sitting in the aquilla already, waiting for Ziel to join him.
  255. Neue-Ziel secures his servitor. He takes a seat and buckles in.
  256. Caerwyn_Beraht "What took you so long, steel priest?"
  257. Neue-Ziel "Just saying good-bye."
  258. Lucrezia "I think you have a fan."
  259. Neue-Ziel "His curiosity with machines is interesting. However, I'm not sure if he can sense its spirit."
  260. Caerwyn_Beraht snickers. "I didn't think a red robe had the wherewithal to charm a young boy into fandom."
  261. Lucrezia "Maybe I'll get a fan in the next stop."
  262. Neue-Ziel "I think you already have a fan."
  263. RosenkrantzGM Pilot: +My Lords? Will we be heading back to the Landing Zone?+
  264. Lucrezia "I do...?"
  265. Neue-Ziel [Rogue Cant] "He's a lot closer than you think."
  266. Caerwyn_Beraht To the Pilot: "No. We are trying to reach the savage queen of some other group of heathens. Did the auspex pick up any other large structures nearby?"
  267. RosenkrantzGM Pilot: "Nothing as large as the Keep, my Lord."
  268. Lucrezia "Oh... I didn't knew you thought of me as inspiration, Ziel."
  269. Neue-Ziel starts laughing.
  270. Lucrezia looks at Ziel curiously before refocusing on the task at hand. "Hmm... maybe we should return to the site of the battle?"
  271. Neue-Ziel "Possible. The locals might know something."
  272. Lucrezia "I was thinking that maybe the Auspex would pick it up better there."
  273. Lucrezia "Or that we could follow the retreating army. Worst case, we reach the Aurorae and ask them to find it for us."
  274. Lucrezia "Well, you are the one having all the divinity fun."
  275. Caerwyn_Beraht nods and smiles. "You're a god too, dear."
  276. Neue-Ziel "Ladies, please."
  277. Lucrezia clears her throat. "Sure..."
  278. Neue-Ziel unbuckles and heads into the cockpit. Ziel uses the vox to communicate with the Aurorae.
  279. RosenkrantzGM +...--orae. Do you read?+
  280. Neue-Ziel +This is Enginseer Prime Neue-Ziel. We read you.+
  281. RosenkrantzGM +Bridge here. Glad to hear from you again.+
  282. Neue-Ziel +We require some assistance. We need an auspex scan of the surrounding area for any interesting features, settlements, natural landmarks, etc.+
  283. RosenkrantzGM +The Lord-Captain wishes to sp--+
  284. RosenkrantzGM +How many are there? Are they civilized?+
  285. Neue-Ziel +Lord Captain Wilhelm? Yes, there are 'humans' on this planet. They are primitive in terms of technology, but appear to have a Feudal system.+
  286. RosenkrantzGM +Fantastic... they really do thrive. We are attempting all we can here, but between the Star anomalies and the magnetic field of the planet, comms and auspex systems are not all that they could be. Have they recognized you?+
  287. Neue-Ziel +They believe Lucrezia and Priestboy to be some sort of demigods+
  288. Neue-Ziel +Something about a Lord Sky watching from a Sky rock. They believe the two to be its representatives.+
  289. RosenkrantzGM +No... you are MY representatives. I do wish to know more about their civilization, but there is no need to entertain these superstitions. I will begin the auspex scans now.+
  290. Neue-Ziel +Understood though Priestboy seems to be enjoying the charade.+
  291. RosenkrantzGM +Travel West, to the shores of the Inland sea. If that's not a settlement, I don't know what is.+
  292. RosenkrantzGM +And... don't let the priest get too carried away.+
  293. Neue-Ziel +That's a little too late.+
  294. RosenkrantzGM The Aquila speeds up, traveling in the direction indicated.
  295. RosenkrantzGM Just under an hour later, you can see a large port city. As usual by this point, there are troop mobilizations, and panicking civilians below.
  296. Neue-Ziel +Priestboy, our Lord Captain doesn't want us using the superstitious nonsense when dealing with the natives.+
  297. Caerwyn_Beraht +He doesn't seriously think I'll entertain such a foolish request. Those 'superstitions' will be the bedrock of this planet's faith. It will be our means of bringing them into the IMperial fold.+
  298. RosenkrantzGM Pilot: +Where would you like me to put her down, my Lords?+
  299. Neue-Ziel +We are his representatives, not this heretic Sky God."
  300. Neue-Ziel "Outside the city. Let's try and not cause a scene."
  301. RosenkrantzGM Pilor: +Aye+
  302. RosenkrantzGM He lands the Aquila outside the city itself, along a wide road into what appears to be a mercantile district.
  303. Caerwyn_Beraht unstraps himself from his seat. He shakes himself out a little before muttering a quick prayer. "Alright. We need to find that queen. Shall we ask around or...?"
  304. Lucrezia stands as the aquila lands and stretches. "We leave the aquila and ask whatever welcoming commitee we run into."
  305. Neue-Ziel leaves the cockpit and exits the vehicle with his servitor.
  306. Lucrezia "Also, Ziel, let me take a look at your legs."
  307. Neue-Ziel stops.
  308. Neue-Ziel pulls back his robes.
  309. Lucrezia takes a very professional and detached look.
  310. Neue-Ziel "You like? The finest craftsmanship from the brotherhood of Mars."
  311. Lucrezia "Just checking for anything that boy might've left on you."
  312. RosenkrantzGM The implants are indeed of impressive quality. What they aren't, however, is rigged or otherwise obviously tainted.
  313. Caerwyn_Beraht gives Lucrezia a sideways glance, exiting the aquila as well. "Perhaps these primitives have mastered the art of miniscule listening devices, but not fire arms crafting. Makes sense, I suppose."
  314. Lucrezia pouts as she gets up. "Better safe than sorry, oh great Emissary of Heaven."
  315. Caerwyn_Beraht frowns and nods. "I suppose. Sorry for speaking out of turn, ma'am. Let's get moving, I do not wish to die of boredom."
  316. Neue-Ziel adjusts his robes.
  317. Neue-Ziel exits the vehicle.
  318. Lucrezia follows.
  319. RosenkrantzGM Already, off in the distance, by the gates to the city, you see a troop of men forming up.
  320. RosenkrantzGM Bells begin to sound from inside the city.
  321. Caerwyn_Beraht raises his arms. "Mea Frateris! This child of Epathus comes in peace! Lay down thine arms and hear mine words and those of the Lord of the Sky!"
  322. Lucrezia whistles. "I think you spoke too much, too soon..."
  323. RosenkrantzGM A group of men mounted on red beasts joins those by the gate.
  324. RosenkrantzGM ...and they begin to charge in your direction.
  325. Lucrezia readies her assault lasgun.
  326. Neue-Ziel +Pilot, hover over us and fire on my mark.+
  327. Caerwyn_Beraht "Gentlemen! Please! Ego dominus facienium in pace!" Caerwyn pleads, trying to get their attention.
  328. Neue-Ziel readies his boltgun.
  329. Caerwyn_Beraht "Bah, If you won't come to me I'll come to you..." Caerwyn begins to stroll towards the beast riding men, waving them down. "CAN WE TALK?" He shouts. "I COME BEARING NEWS!"
  330. Neue-Ziel binary commands the servitor into a defensive stance.
  331. RosenkrantzGM The men lower their long spears forward. From here, you can see the shine on the metal tips.
  332. Neue-Ziel "Priestboy, don't be a fool! They don't wish to speak."
  333. Lucrezia sighs. "WE WISH TO MAKE AMMENDS FOR THE PREVIOUS ATTACK!"
  334. Caerwyn_Beraht "INPEDITIUM! INPEDITIUM DESINE IAM! LET US HAVE WORDS!"
  335. RosenkrantzGM The Aquila hovers a few meters off the ground.
  336. Caerwyn_Beraht begins to tug at the eviscerator at his back, his nerve giving way as the lizard riders keep coming.
  337. RosenkrantzGM The pilot fires in their direction, missing them.
  338. RosenkrantzGM The beasts are spooked, two of the riders fall off their mounts, the others turn to flee, breaking formation.
  339. Lucrezia lowers her weapon. "Ziel, contact the Aurorae! Tell them to keep a track of us, we are about to get captured. And tell the damn Aquila to disengage!"
  340. Lucrezia then drops her lasgun and walks towards the lot.
  341. RosenkrantzGM The footsoldiers now advance, marching towards you.
  342. Neue-Ziel +Aquila, disengage. I repeat Disengage!"
  343. Neue-Ziel *+
  344. Lucrezia walks with her hands up in the air. "We wish an audience!" She then repeats the same in High Gothic.
  345. Caerwyn_Beraht marches towards the soldiers, equally resolute. He stands behind Lucrezia, peaking over her shoulder and repeating her demand.
  346. RosenkrantzGM The lander ceases firing, and flies off out of sight.
  347. Lucrezia [Rogue Trader Cant] "Ziel, grab my weapon, but keep it low."
  348. Neue-Ziel grabs Lucrezia's weapon and slips it under his robes.
  349. RosenkrantzGM As they get closer, another group of riders joins behind. They are different, however. A man with an ornate crested helm in the middle of their formation. They don't charge, staying behind the infantry formation
  350. Lucrezia "Could we get a response!" [Low Gothic]
  351. Neue-Ziel starts advancing forward with his boltgun lowered.
  352. RosenkrantzGM Some 20 meters away, the infantry formation spreads out, forming a long line in front of you. The mounted figure stops behind, with his escorts doing the same.
  353. Neue-Ziel [Rogue Cant] "This is their response."
  354. RosenkrantzGM "Identify yourselves, demons!"
  355. Caerwyn_Beraht "I am Caerwyn Beraht, Child of Epathus, speaker for the Lord of the Sky!"
  356. RosenkrantzGM "Blasphemer!"
  357. RosenkrantzGM "Ready arms!"
  358. Neue-Ziel "That's a lie."
  359. RosenkrantzGM The infantrymen ready their primitive fuses.
  360. Makh_Chomun +Need some assistance?+
  361. Neue-Ziel "We are representatives of the Rosenkrantz Warband."
  362. Neue-Ziel "Don't listen to the boy. He's a fool."
  363. Lucrezia sighs and looks back at Ziel, staring.
  364. Makh_Chomun is currently in Aquila 2, which is circling from above, waiting for the call for back-up.
  365. Lucrezia [Rogue Cant] "The fuck are you doing?"
  366. Caerwyn_Beraht "BLASPHEMIAM?! Quomodom tu!"
  367. RosenkrantzGM "Take aim!"
  368. Caerwyn_Beraht "Is my knowledge of the holy tongue not enough?! What you are doing is HERESY!"
  369. RosenkrantzGM The commander, then dismounts.
  370. RosenkrantzGM He removes his helmet.
  371. RosenkrantzGM A warrior in his prime. He is handsome, with a sharp jaw-line, strong chin, and a slightly crooked nose once broken, which rests below his crisp light green eyes. His dark gold hair is tied back in a short ponytail, for ease in wearing and removing his beautiful crested helm.
  372. RosenkrantzGM "Shoulder arms!" he calls, arms extended out.
  373. Neue-Ziel pushes the boy aside.
  374. RosenkrantzGM "Say that again, stranger!"
  375. Lucrezia "Which one?"
  376. Neue-Ziel "The boy is a liar. A con artist."
  377. RosenkrantzGM "Silence, Knight. I don't speak to you!"
  378. Neue-Ziel [Rogue Cant] "Lucrezia, deal with this."
  379. RosenkrantzGM He steps in front of his men, walking directly towards you.
  380. Caerwyn_Beraht "Dic quid est?" Queries Caerwyn, walking towards the handsome man. "Do you not understand the holy tongue?"
  381. Caerwyn_Beraht despite being shorter than the man by a long shot, tries to face him down and appear intimidating.
  382. RosenkrantzGM Placing his helmet under his arm, he instantly takes a knee and bows his head.
  383. RosenkrantzGM "Your Grace."
  384. RosenkrantzGM His men immediately shoulder their arms and stand at attention.
  385. Lucrezia turns to Ziel. [Rogue Cant] "You try that again and I'll shut you up. You could've gotten us killed as much as he was!"
  386. Makh_Chomun +He got another group huh?+ Makh's laughter can be heard over the vox channel.
  387. Neue-Ziel +I hate this fucking planet.+
  388. Caerwyn_Beraht smirks, smug and triumphant. "Rise, my son. Thank you for clearing up this misundertanding. I seek an audience with Queen Leasah. Praytell, where might she be found?"
  389. Lucrezia [Rogue Cant] "Well, I can ship you back to the Aurorae after this."
  390. Caerwyn_Beraht takes his vial of holy water and begins to sprinkle across his hands and the ground before him. His censer rattles with every jerk of his hands.
  391. Lucrezia sighs and corrects Caerwyn. "We seek an audience."
  392. RosenkrantzGM "Her Majesty is in her Palace, my Emperor. I will be honored to escort you and your servants to her."
  393. RosenkrantzGM He looks up at Lucrezia, eyes wide.
  394. RosenkrantzGM "Children of Epathus..." he whispers under his breath.
  395. Neue-Ziel [Rogue Cant] "This is heresy and we both know it."
  396. Lucrezia [Rogue Cant] "It is not as long as we aim it in the right direction. Now hold your bloody tongue."
  397. Makh_Chomun +I'll be joining you soon, lady and gents.+
  398. Neue-Ziel [Rogue Cant] "Understood. These situations are getting a bit too intense."
  399. Caerwyn_Beraht +Affirmative, Mr. Chomun.+ Touches his microbead and turns to the the warrior before him. "I would very much appreciate my son. What is your name?"
  400. Lucrezia then refocuses on the apparent leader and removes her own helmet.
  401. RosenkrantzGM "Marshall Gideon Bendegar, your Imperial Highness."
  402. Neue-Ziel pulls his hood up.
  403. Neue-Ziel commands his servitor to follow in passive mode.
  404. RosenkrantzGM Gideon: "Do forgive our insolence. Our army was attacked by one of your demons. We thought your group hostile."
  405. Lucrezia "A regretable misunderstanding."
  406. Lucrezia "And part of why we have come here."
  407. RosenkrantzGM "Please," he rises, "Follow me."
  408. Lucrezia "And not demons, just steeds."
  409. RosenkrantzGM The formation turns around, and act as your escorts into the city.
  410. Neue-Ziel "They are blessed instruments of the Omnissiah."
  411. RosenkrantzGM The city gates are ornate, made of fine metals.
  412. RosenkrantzGM A crisp coastal breeze circulates through the city, and the faint sound of crashing waves is heard at a distance.
  413. RosenkrantzGM You soon arrive at a wonderful palace overlooking the harbor. large glass panels allow sunlight to enter the palace, filtering it in different colors.
  414. Makh_Chomun "Pilot, bring me in around their group 10 feet out, time to make an entrance!" He then turns to the other armsmen on-board, "stay ready in case I need you for a dynamic entry."
  415. RosenkrantzGM It doesn't take long before the Marshall's request is heard and you are asked to wait in the Throne room. Precious metals adorn every corner of the room, as does art of all kinds, beautiful chandeliers, and fine pottery.
  416. RosenkrantzGM "Ready, sir!"
  417. Caerwyn_Beraht "Ostentatious. I like it." Caerwyn sprinkles water with every step, quickly emptying out the remaining contents of his vial as he arrives before the palace. "We shall wait for Master Chomun."
  418. Makh_Chomun hits the release rune for the ramp, and jumps out.
  419. Lucrezia looks around. "Hmm... I wouldn't mind a room based on this place."
  420. Neue-Ziel asks Lucrezia [Rogue Cant] "How long do you think these 'humans' lived on this planet?"
  421. Makh_Chomun Makh hits the ground with a roll, he then picks himself and dusts himself off, acting as if it was an every day thing to drop out of the sky. +Stay on stand-by Aquila-2, thanks for the ride.+
  422. Lucrezia responds as she studies one particular piece of art. [Rogue Cant] "A few generations, I'd wager for minimum."
  423. Makh_Chomun proceeds to head inside to regroup with his compatriots.
  424. Lucrezia turns to Makh. [Rogue Cant] "Nice of you to join us."
  425. RosenkrantzGM Behind the Throne, from a hidden entrance, exits the crowned figure.
  426. RosenkrantzGM Queen Leasah - A beautiful woman of 30-odd years. She has a pale face, piercing blue eyes, a fine nose, and ornately-arranged brown-red hair.
  427. Neue-Ziel [Rogue Cant] "They have been living under an unstable star without suffering any mutations. Or at least any visible ones. They might be mutants or a subspecies."
  428. Makh_Chomun [Rogue Cant] "Sorry for my tardiness." Makhs says with a sheepish grin.
  429. Lucrezia turns to the Queen as she approaches, once more removing her helmet.
  430. RosenkrantzGM She slowly approaches, every step graceful, until she stands in front of her Throne.
  431. Caerwyn_Beraht ignores the conversation going on behind him and smiles warmly at the approaching queen. "Ah, her royal highness I presume? Greetings. Come and be regarded by the Children of Epathus."
  432. Neue-Ziel [Rogue Cant] "You missed quite the adventure."
  433. Neue-Ziel [Rogue Cant] "They think our Priestboy is a god."
  434. RosenkrantzGM Leasah: "Tell me, how do I know you speak truth?"
  435. RosenkrantzGM At that moment, an old robed man enters the room. An adviser to the Queen, it would seem.
  436. Makh_Chomun [Rogue Cant] "So I've heard, my view gave me quite a good look at the flock our brother has found for himself."
  437. Caerwyn_Beraht shifts a little uncomfortably, turning a little red as he eyes the queen up and down. What a looker. He bites his lip and remembers himself. "Princeps lingua loquoris. I have descened from the sky upon a beast of steel and fire bearing the word of the Lord in the Sky. Is this not proof enough, or do you require more of me?"
  438. RosenkrantzGM He looks at you skeptically.
  439. Neue-Ziel [Rogue Cant] "Look at him go."
  440. Lucrezia stands behind and to the side of Caerwyn, focusing on the man for the time being.
  441. RosenkrantzGM The Queen looks instantly impressed, she takes a step forward to approach you, but the old man holds out a hand, stopping her.
  442. Lucrezia "Is there a problem?"
  443. RosenkrantzGM "You speak the ancient tongue. But tell me... what is your name, /son of Epathus/."
  444. RosenkrantzGM The old man's tone is inquisitive.
  445. RosenkrantzGM Piercing.
  446. Neue-Ziel [Rogue Cant] "Chomun, prepare an exiting strategy ."
  447. Lucrezia "We know him by Caerwyn."
  448. Caerwyn_Beraht looks at the older man, trying to smile that gentle and paternal grin but looking a little too sour for it to be effective. He shoots a glance at Lucrezia, grimacing a little but he would have divulged that anyway.
  449. RosenkrantzGM "Caerwyn..." he looks back at the Queen.
  450. RosenkrantzGM "Leave the room. Find safety."
  451. Neue-Ziel binary commands the servitor to move near him.
  452. RosenkrantzGM She looks at him, surprised.
  453. Caerwyn_Beraht "I beg your pardon? Ego autem non pateretur, pro quibusium indignent!"
  454. Lucrezia takes a step forwards. "And why would that be? Have we not come here in relative peace? Searching for civil discussion?"
  455. RosenkrantzGM "YOU BLASPHEME!"
  456. Lucrezia "And hopefully ammends for the earlier misunderstandi-"
  457. Caerwyn_Beraht stamps his feet and turns a little red. "Mentire! You know nothing!"
  458. Lucrezia "What's with that accursed word!"
  459. RosenkrantzGM "I have studied with the High Priests of the Sky Rock."
  460. Lucrezia "Blasphemer this and blasphemer that..."
  461. Lucrezia "It's getting damn tiring."
  462. RosenkrantzGM Leasah: "Enough!"
  463. Caerwyn_Beraht "And you think they know everything? That their word is infallible? Use your eyes, man! Am I not-" Caerwyn stops and stares at the Queen, surprised.
  464. Lucrezia turns to Caerwyn, staring at him."
  465. RosenkrantzGM Leasah: "Tell us, Caerwyn" she smiles at the young priest, "what is it you have come here to say?"
  466. Lucrezia whispers, hoping that Caerwyn listens. [Rogue Cant] "Be very fucking careful..."
  467. Neue-Ziel makes the sign of the Omnissiah and whispers "Omnissiah have mercy on us."
  468. Caerwyn_Beraht "The violence between you and the Duke must surcease, for the good of all upon this world. At the very least, you must abandon your project at the Halls of Steel. But this peace, this blessed peace, can be created if you and your rival have a dialogue. The Duke already is amenable to an arrangment if he believes it will further my goals. If you so wish, the fighting between your two peoples
  469. Caerwyn_Beraht can end immediately, and a new golden age can down upon this planet."
  470. RosenkrantzGM She sits on her throne before she speaks.
  471. RosenkrantzGM "Aurelian has taken hold of the Free-cities. They used to belong to Naegord... we gave them freedom, and now he moves in to take the Hall of Steel."
  472. RosenkrantzGM Old man: "And I suppose you intend this new age of gold to be under your rule?"
  473. Lucrezia "Under our guidance... not quite rule."
  474. Lucrezia "You will all be allowed to remain autonomus for the most part."
  475. Caerwyn_Beraht "Do you not see hor your squabbling is costing you so much? Why not join with the duke, under our guidance?"
  476. RosenkrantzGM "Someone... must... /rule/" the old man says, eyes fixed on Lucrezia's.
  477. Makh_Chomun watches on in silence, remembering how tiresome shipboard politics was.
  478. RosenkrantzGM Leasah: "Who will have control over the excavation?"
  479. Neue-Ziel [Rogue Cant] "It is the right of Lord Captain Wilhelm to rule."
  480. RosenkrantzGM Old man: "We will never cede control to that fool Aurelian, not under your guidance, nor anyone's!"
  481. Lucrezia "That will be decided once we revisit the Halls. It's been quite some time."
  482. RosenkrantzGM Old man: "Yes... revisit. Do remind me, for my studies are years behind me... who are you?"
  483. Neue-Ziel [Rogue Cant] "This planet belongs to the Rosenkrantz Dynasty. They will have no choice."
  484. Lucrezia "I am one of Caerwyn's guardians. And, sadly, the one who caused the problem earlier at the field."
  485. RosenkrantzGM "You... cost us our victory?"
  486. Neue-Ziel [Rogue Cant]"What do you think of these fools?" he says to Chomun.
  487. RosenkrantzGM The Queen looks at the old man, and at you, her face suddenly sad, hurt.
  488. Lucrezia "I wouldn't quite put it in those terms but that's one sad way of looking at it... I wish to make ammends."
  489. Makh_Chomun [Rogue Cant] "I think the old man needs to hold his tongue."
  490. RosenkrantzGM Leasah: "What is it you propose?"
  491. Lucrezia "For my ammends? What do you need that I can do for you, your ladyship?"
  492. Neue-Ziel [Rogue Cant] "We could do so much worse then ruining their pathetic victory."
  493. RosenkrantzGM "I have a legitimate claim on the Free Cities, a war against an aggressive Duke in the East, a fragile trade relationship with the Patrician of Heralle across the Inland Sea, and serious threat to my own merchants by that so-called Captain Anjanette."
  494. RosenkrantzGM "I have multiple problems you can help with. Reigning is not an easy task."
  495. RosenkrantzGM +Master Chomun, do you read?+
  496. Caerwyn_Beraht sighs, a little peeved. "If it will help, then I suppose we can make ourselves useful."
  497. Lucrezia "Oh, believe me, I understand. Your war with the Duke is something regretable and we wish to solve that through compromise. However, I would be more than willing to aid with this Captain and trade situation."
  498. Lucrezia "To those ends, my skills and assets are yours."
  499. RosenkrantzGM "Anjanette Hogon... Captain of the 'Morning Star', must be the largest privately-owned strongwood vessel in the Inland Sea. Calls herself a 'governess' of a dreadful pirate haven of an unknown location to the Admiralty. She has strained relations with the Merchant Republic of Heralle with her incessant raids."
  500. Caerwyn_Beraht "She will be dealt with easily, methinks."
  501. Makh_Chomun +Go ahead+
  502. RosenkrantzGM_ "End the threat, and I will sit with you as intermediaries to negotiate a lasting peace with Aurelian."
  503. RosenkrantzGM_ +An Aquila is being requested to return to the Ship. Captain wishes to arrive planetside.+
  504. Lucrezia nods. "Very well, we appreciate your time and understanding, your ladyship. We will start to work on it at once."
  505. Makh_Chomun +Send back Aquila 1, I'd rather have Aquila 2 on stand by with the armsmen....the vomit was hosed out, right?+
  506. RosenkrantzGM_ Old man: "Good day" he says dryly.
  507. RosenkrantzGM_ The Queen graciously nods, giving you a smile.
  508. RosenkrantzGM_ +Ah... yes, Master Chomun, I can confirm your Lordships' vomit has been cleared out.+
  509. Makh_Chomun +Very good, also, keep that to yourself, I'll be sure to buy you a drink later for your troubles.+
  510. RosenkrantzGM_ +Aye, sir+
  511. Lucrezia returns to the group. [Rogue Cant] "We are heading back up."
  512. Neue-Ziel [Rogue Cant] "You saved our collective hides."
  513. Makh_Chomun "That right? You wanna make a daring exit or meet our transport outside the city?"
  514. Neue-Ziel "Let's not."
  515. Lucrezia [Rogue Cant] "Yeah, yeah. Now let's make sure our good Captain doesn't put us in danger once more. Let's meet the Aquila heading up outside of the city."
  516. Caerwyn_Beraht nods, following along.
  517. Makh_Chomun +Aquila 2, land just outside the city, we're making our exit. Don't try to scare the locals too much.+
  518. Neue-Ziel follows the group with his servitor.
  519. RosenkrantzGM_ +Aye, sir. Landing just outside the city gates.+
  520. Makh_Chomun walks back towards the outside of the city, letting Lucrezia lead the way, since she and everyone else came in before.
  521. RosenkrantzGM_ The Aquila lands outside, kicking up dust.
  522. Lucrezia boards the Aquila
  523. Neue-Ziel enters the Aquila.
  524. Caerwyn_Beraht enters the aquila, mumbling to himself.
  525. Makh_Chomun is the last to board the aquila. "We're onboard pilot, take us back to the ship if you please."
  526. Neue-Ziel "So, we are pirate hunters?"
  527. Makh_Chomun "Soon shall be, wouldn't be our first time, eh?"
  528. Neue-Ziel "And trade negotiators? On top of being that, we are holy men. Did I mention I hate this planet?"
  529. Makh_Chomun "Don't you hate all non-Forge worlds?" Makh teases.
  530. Neue-Ziel "True."
  531. Caerwyn_Beraht "What's wrong, red robe? Envious of my divine station upon this place?"
  532. RosenkrantzGM_ The Aquila speeds up, and climbs sharply.
  533. Neue-Ziel "Priestboy, we almost got killed by our own stupidity."
  534. Caerwyn_Beraht chuckles and playfully pats the priest's shoulder. "MY stupidity? We are in an advantageous position because of my divine mandate."
  535. Makh_Chomun "I think he doesn't care much for your machinations, brother." He has a quick laugh at that.
  536. RosenkrantzGM_ Out the viewports, you can see the planet in larger and larger perspective.
  537. RosenkrantzGM_ Soon you're outside the atmosphere.
  538. Makh_Chomun "Say..." Makh emphasizes with a pointed finger, "where is your sister care-taker, brother?"
  539. RosenkrantzGM_ The Aurorae's lighter bays open, and the Aquila enters its protective hull. The Gun-Cutter arrives just behind it.
  540. Caerwyn_Beraht shrugs. "At the base camp, I believe. Or at least I hope. I wouldn't put it past her to follow me around without my knowledge"
  541. (RosenkrantzGM_ Tao: "IS THAT SO?" she whispers into the priest's ear) NIGHTMARE MODE
  542. Caerwyn_Beraht "Oh, Tao Xen, I have never felt so much...resentment...towards a Sororita. Those holy women humble me with their piety, but Tao is a caustic snake."
  543. Caerwyn_Beraht "Praytell, why do you ask Master Makh?"
  544. Baine_Mort has the arms men and Katherine carry out the remains of the servitor from the Gun Cutter.
  545. Neue-Ziel exits the Aquila.
  546. Makh_Chomun "With how she dogs your steps I wouldn't expect you to leave her sight." He answers as they exit the Aquila.
  547. Baine_Mort has the armsmen and Katherine places the servitors remains on a nearby table.
  548. Baine_Mort looks for Ziel and waves him over.
  549. Makh_Chomun "Ho, what do they have there?" Makh says pointing towards the other party.
  550. Neue-Ziel approaches the table and asks Katherine [Tech] "What is this?"
  551. Caerwyn_Beraht grunts, a hint of worry in his voice. And Lo and behold, who else is there but the woman herslef, once again in more comfortable robes with a quarter staff in her grasp. Her cold, almost reptillian glare sends a chill up his spine.
  552. RosenkrantzGM_ Katherine: [Techna Lingua] "A servitor of peculiar design. Ancient."
  553. Neue-Ziel "Amazing... have it transported to my office immediately."
  554. RosenkrantzGM_ The Lord-Captain then enters the bay, a veritable troop of serfs carrying his belongings to the Gun-Cutter.
  555. Baine_Mort "The strange thing about it, it almost looks human to."
  556. Neue-Ziel "Impossible."
  557. Baine_Mort "At least from what we could tell"
  558. Neue-Ziel "Why is it fulled with bullits?"
  559. Makh_Chomun "Sounds like you found yourself a new toy Ziel." Makh then winks at Katherine before going to greet the Lord Captain.
  560. Baine_Mort "It got shot, we saw something moving and reacted."
  561. Caerwyn_Beraht looks at the near human thing. "Heresy. Hoc naturan est corruptio"
  562. Baine_Mort "There maybe more on that station, but we didn't get a chance to check yet."
  563. RosenkrantzGM_ Katherine looks flustered for a moment, immediately breaking eye contact with the Master-At-Arms.
  564. Neue-Ziel [Secret tongue Tech] "Have it transported and guarded at all costs."
  565. Caerwyn_Beraht Tao Xen hovers around her master's back, repeating his curses against the vile machine man. She stares at Makh for a moment before wandering around a bit aimlessly.
  566. RosenkrantzGM_ Wilhelm: "Ready all my belongings, have transports prepared for an escort. I want a Company's worth of men. We are to make an impression on the inhabitants of Faith."
  567. Neue-Ziel [Secret tongue Tech] "No one will examine it without my supervision."
  568. Makh_Chomun "Finally decided to explore the planet, M'lord?" Makh asks as he approaches him under the loading ramp of the Gun-cutter.
  569. Neue-Ziel heads toward the Librarium.
  570. RosenkrantzGM_ Wilhelm: "I have found out all I can from here, and with comms so horribly broken between the ship and the planet's surface, I'd rather go there myself than continuing to berate poor Olga" he says with a childish smile.
  571. Baine_Mort "Well this is going to be fun, not one for the outdoors much."
  572. Makh_Chomun "Careful of the ride down, m'lord, the turbulence can be a surprising wench."
  573. Caerwyn_Beraht "I urge you to exercise discretion, milord. Our status upon that plan is predicated on the presumption that we are divine mediators, not conquerors."
  574. RosenkrantzGM_ Wilhelm: "You are an Honored Witness to my Claim upon this world, my dear Caerwyn. I am not here to conquer, but to enforce my legitimate claim on the planet. I welcome your helping the natives realize their lot in life as subjects to the Dynasty and He on Terra."
  575. Caerwyn_Beraht sprinkles a little holy water on his lord's boots, saying a little prayer.
  576. Caerwyn_Beraht "Milord..." He growls, a little testy. "These people need to be gently led into the Emperor's faith, not forcefully yanked."
  577. Baine_Mort "My Lord, if you permit, I would like to return to the space station to continue to explore it, along with Ziel."
  578. RosenkrantzGM_ "I don't care what you do, Mr. Mort, so long as it is in service to the Dynasty... and you use something other than my beloved Gun-Cutter."
  579. Neue-Ziel is searching the Librarium vaults for servitor schematics, history, and Adeptus Mechanicus lores/legends.
  580. Baine_Mort looks around for Ziel, "Where did Ziel go?"
  581. RosenkrantzGM_ "Mr. Beraht, these people are my subjects whether they realize it yet or not. You are free to be as loving or as merciless as you like to help them come to this realization."
  582. Caerwyn_Beraht bows his head. "Understood, mea dominus."
  583. Baine_Mort +Ziel where are you, I need to speak with you?+
  584. Caerwyn_Beraht Tao Xen taps Makh on the shoulder. "Hair-'pon-chest, Savage one. May we have words now."
  585. Neue-Ziel shuts off his internal mircobead in order to continue his studies.
  586. Baine_Mort "Well I'm guessing I'm tallking with him later." He turns to the Arms Men Sargent, "Be ready to return to the station. I will contact you later when we leave again. though we may have to take less men next time."
  587. RosenkrantzGM_ "Of course, my Lord."
  588. Makh_Chomun waves the Lord Captain good bye and then bows, before turning to the Sororita, "ah yes, Sister, would you like to do so here, or somewhere more private?"
  589. Caerwyn_Beraht "Here. I have but one question: Twenty hands of the moons ago, 'pon this ship, did you and Master Beraht eat dinner together?" Tao Xen tilts her head, waiting for your answer. Caerwyn Beraht moves behind her back some distance before turning to face you, his eyes pleading as he nods his head.
  590. Caerwyn_Beraht clasps his hands, nodding even more vigorously. Tao shoots a look back, and Caerwyn makes himself scarce.
  591. Makh_Chomun Makh stares at her, looking as if he's wracking his mind, "ah yes, I invited him to dinner with my officers to get him better acquainted with the crew, I also introduced him to a drinking game I learned. He didn't take to it too well." He finishes with a bark of laughter.
  592. Makh_Chomun "Why the inquiry, sister?" Makh asks with a quirk of his brow.
  593. Baine_Mort returns to his quarters.
  594. RosenkrantzGM_ Wilhelm: "Careful with that table, you fool! That set of Regicide is worth more than your life!"
  595. Caerwyn_Beraht Tao Xen's face curls into a wicked grin, and she cocks her head. "Ah, just curiousity. You have illuminated much for me, Master Makh. I lay my thanks before you like the whisper of Hanuman." She does an exaggerated bow, and titters like a school girl. Creepy.
  596. Makh_Chomun "Happy to help, littler sister." Makh says as she skips off.
  597.
  598.
  599. POV:
  600. Baine Mort
  601. Baine_Mort exits his quarter's and heads for the bridge
  602. Baine_Mort arrives on the bridge
  603. RosenkrantzGM Heinrich, Wilhelm, and several Dynastic scribes are inside the bridge, cataloging as much information as they can gather.
  604. Baine_Mort approach Wilhelm, "My Lord Captain, how goes the landing parties progress?"
  605. RosenkrantzGM Wilhelm: "It's been some time now since we have had any contact. The magnetic field on this planet makes comms rather difficult, Mr. Mort."
  606. RosenkrantzGM Wilhelm: "I may have to conduct things planetside myself, if we can't find a more permanent solution."
  607. RosenkrantzGM Heinrich: "Greetings, Mr. Mort. It would seem the Gillam Star is highly active. Solar flares only add to the complications.
  608. Baine_Mort "And Greetings to you as well Lord Heinrich, is there no other way to break through the interference my lords?"
  609. RosenkrantzGM Heinrich: "Olga has been trying to find a solution. So far without success."
  610. Baine_Mort "Could something else planet side be causing the interference as well?"
  611. RosenkrantzGM Heinrich: "It is possible, though so far the interference seems to be natural in origin."
  612. RosenkrantzGM Wilhelm: "Mr. Mort, will you do me a favor?"
  613. Baine_Mort "Yes, what is it you wish my lord?"
  614. RosenkrantzGM Wilhelm: "Take command of the Gun-Cutter, Mr. Mort. Take a contingent of Armsmen with you, and fly to the Station in high-orbit. Scout ahead and relay any information back to me."
  615. Baine_Mort "As you wish my lord, is there anything thing in particular there that you expect us to find?"
  616. RosenkrantzGM Wilhelm: "No, Mr. Mort... this is why you are a scout," he says with a half-smile.
  617. Baine_Mort nods to Wilhelm and then exits the bridge. He then contacts several arms men to me him at the Gun-Cutter.
  618. Baine_Mort arrives at the Gun Cutter.
  619. RosenkrantzGM The lighter bay is busy with crewmen preparing the Gun-Cutter for space travel. Some 20 Armsmen are lined up waiting to board.
  620. RosenkrantzGM A Sergeant-At-Arms approaches you.
  621. RosenkrantzGM "My Lord, it is our pleasure to be a part of your expedition."
  622. Baine_Mort "Good, are your men ready, who knows what we will find on that station."
  623. RosenkrantzGM "Aye, m'lord, we are ready on your order."
  624. Baine_Mort "Also I believe we should bring along a tech priest, they may come in handy."
  625. RosenkrantzGM "As you wi, my lord. There is more than sufficient room in the Cutter.
  626. Baine_Mort "Good, now go and find me one of the higher ranking tech priest so that we can depart."
  627. RosenkrantzGM He calls into one of the vox-stations for a request to the Mechanicus.
  628. Baine_Mort check over the Cutter while waiting for the tech priest to arrive.
  629. RosenkrantzGM Some minutes later, Magos Enginarium Katherine enters the bay.
  630. RosenkrantzGM "Master Mort," she nods.
  631. RosenkrantzGM "I am to join you in an expedition?"
  632. Baine_Mort turns towards Katherine, "Yes, I believe your skills may be needed in this expedition."
  633. Baine_Mort "We are to scout out the station that is orbiting the planet."
  634. RosenkrantzGM "Of course, Master Mort. Shall we?"
  635. Baine_Mort "We shall." turns towards Cutter and boards it.
  636. RosenkrantzGM The Armsmen soon follow and board the Gun-Cutter.
  637. RosenkrantzGM The Pilot starts the engines.
  638. Baine_Mort sits down and buckles in for take off.
  639. RosenkrantzGM The bay is sealed, and the crew outside the cutter clear the floor.
  640. RosenkrantzGM The cutter lifts off and flies into the void.
  641. RosenkrantzGM The engines speed up, jolting the inside of the cutter, and you make for the station.
  642. RosenkrantzGM Katherine: "The signatures we have picked up suggest a very ancient station..."
  643. RosenkrantzGM "It has remained dormant for ages. But the Machine Spirit yet seeks a response."
  644. Baine_Mort "And what kind of response is it looking for?"
  645. Baine_Mort "Or is that currently a mystery at this moment?"
  646. RosenkrantzGM "That we do not yet know. Master Ziel is the best-informed in such matters. There must be hidden knowledge there. Valuable knowledge."
  647. Baine_Mort "Well then, it is a mystery we shall try to solve, though if it looks like we cant solve it, make sure to gather what and all you can for Ziel so that he may analyze it once he returns or we can get in contact with him."
  648. RosenkrantzGM Pilot: +We're withing scanning range.+
  649. RosenkrantzGM Katherine: "Allow me."
  650. Baine_Mort "Go ahead" Baine says to Katherine.
  651. RosenkrantzGM Katherine sits by the augury console.
  652. RosenkrantzGM "I'm receiving signatures from dormant weapons systems. Multiple las-turrets..."
  653. RosenkrantzGM "Interesting... the docking arm hasn't been properly sealed."
  654. Baine_Mort "Well that is going to be a problem."
  655. Baine_Mort "Also are the turrets going to be of any problem?"
  656. RosenkrantzGM "They appear dormant... though they may be activated by scanners."
  657. RosenkrantzGM "We should approach with caution."
  658. Baine_Mort "That would be wise." +Pilot, bring us in slowly.+
  659. Baine_Mort "Any ideas on where we should board from then?"
  660. RosenkrantzGM Katherine: "We will have to attempt the Docking Arm, though the station is likely depressurized. Voidsuits will be necessary... as will extra caution."
  661. Baine_Mort "Well then that seems like the best plan." +Pilot, bring us in as close as you can to the docking arm.+
  662. RosenkrantzGM Katheine: "We will soon be within the weapon scan's range..."
  663. RosenkrantzGM "5... 4... 3... 2... 1..."
  664. RosenkrantzGM Katherine hold onto her seat, head ducked.
  665. RosenkrantzGM But... nothing happens.
  666. RosenkrantzGM Katherine: "It seems all systems are dormant. No doubt an energy-conservation mechanism.
  667. Baine_Mort "Good, lets hope that are luck keeps up then."
  668. RosenkrantzGM She nods.
  669. RosenkrantzGM The cutter maneuvers underneath the center of the station, and slowly adjusts to align with its docking arm.
  670. RosenkrantzGM Pilot: +We are... locked in.+
  671. RosenkrantzGM The Sergeant-At-Arms quickly shouts orders to his men to gather their gear and seal their voidsuits.
  672. Baine_Mort unbuckles from his seat and puts on one of the voidsuits.
  673. RosenkrantzGM Pumps begin to hum all around you as your compartment slowly begins to depressurize.
  674. RosenkrantzGM One of the cabin lights turns green.
  675. RosenkrantzGM +Pressurization equalized. All valves sealed.+
  676. RosenkrantzGM The Sergeant-At-Arms nods, and begins to turn the large hatchvalve up above you.
  677. Baine_Mort checks his bolt pistol as he readies to disembark.
  678. RosenkrantzGM The hatch opens up. Above you, the dark insides of the station.
  679. Baine_Mort +Lights on people, keep your eyes open for anything+ Baine turns on his void suits lights.
  680. RosenkrantzGM The Armsmen follow, and the lights come on.
  681. Baine_Mort makes his way down the hall of the docking arm.
  682. RosenkrantzGM The Sergeant-At-Arms and his men climb up the hatch, and onto the docking compartment of the station.
  683. RosenkrantzGM There is a sealed hatch in front of you, otherwise the hall is empty and dark.
  684. Baine_Mort looks over the hatch. to see how to open it.
  685. RosenkrantzGM There is a simple valve system.
  686. Baine_Mort tries to turn the valve but its doesn't budge.
  687. RosenkrantzGM An armsman comes to help you.
  688. RosenkrantzGM Both of you pulling together manages to turn the valve, opening the hatch.
  689. RosenkrantzGM On the other side is a wide circular room.
  690. RosenkrantzGM Not including yours, there are three other hatches.
  691. RosenkrantzGM There are consoles on the walls. Katherine immediately hops on one and attempts to access its systems.
  692. Baine_Mort enters the room cautiously.
  693. RosenkrantzGM With the corner of your eye, you see something... or someone, move just out of view, into one of the adjacent compartments through one of the open hatchways.
  694. Baine_Mort turns with his bolt pistol aiming toward the open hatchway.
  695. RosenkrantzGM Katherine: "I am routing power to the systems controlled by this console..."
  696. Baine_Mort +I don't think we are alone+ Baine says through the comms.
  697. Baine_Mort +Sarge, have you men ready, there is something else on this station.+
  698. RosenkrantzGM +Aye, sir.+
  699. Baine_Mort +What ever it was moved through that hatchway over there.+ Baine points out to the Sargent the open hatch.
  700. RosenkrantzGM He makes hand signals for a few of his men to stack up near the hatchway.
  701. RosenkrantzGM They hold their shotguns at the ready.
  702. Baine_Mort +Katherine, whats the status on the power?+
  703. RosenkrantzGM +I am doing what I can. The Machine Spirit speaks to me in ancient ways.+
  704. Baine_Mort +Ok then, though I would like to have some more light here as soon as possible, Sarge, have some of you men all stack up on the other door, just in case.+
  705. RosenkrantzGM +Aye, sir.+
  706. RosenkrantzGM Another squad of 6 stacks up on the door on the far end of the room.
  707. Baine_Mort scans the room looking for anything else
  708. RosenkrantzGM In the low light, you can see a large screen on the central rune-table.
  709. RosenkrantzGM There are a few wires and bits of broken tech floating all about you.
  710. RosenkrantzGM Katherine: "I think I've got it."
  711. Baine_Mort moves over to check out the large screen.
  712. RosenkrantzGM All that floats around you, then, falls to the gravplate below you.
  713. RosenkrantzGM Katherine: "At least we have gravity... I can't seem to access control to the lights from here."
  714. Baine_Mort feels the gravity come online, "Well at least we have that for now. Any idea where the light controls might be?"
  715. RosenkrantzGM Katherine: "We will have to keep looking."
  716. Baine_Mort "Well then, we have two options, we either go the direction that what ever it is went, or we take the other open hatch."
  717. RosenkrantzGM The Sergeant-At-Arms looks to you.
  718. RosenkrantzGM "Just give the order, sir."
  719. Baine_Mort takes a moment to think it over, "Ok we are going head down the hatch to are left, and see what we find, be ready, It might attack." Baine moves toward the hatch the the unknown thing and moved through earlier.
  720. RosenkrantzGM +Of course.+
  721. Baine_Mort enters the open hatch with caution.
  722. Baine_Mort +Pilot, contact Lord Willhelm, let him know that we are on board the station, and also tell him that there is something else here. as well.+
  723. RosenkrantzGM +Yes, my Lord.+
  724. RosenkrantzGM On the other side of the hatch is a long corridor.
  725. Baine_Mort +Eyes open people look for any important panels, and keep a look out for any movement.+
  726. Baine_Mort orders the men to form up to cover all directions as they proceed down the corridor.
  727. RosenkrantzGM You feel a sudden shaking. It lasts only a few seconds, before fading away.
  728. Baine_Mort "Well that was odd."
  729. Baine_Mort +Pilot, report, did you detect anything just now?+
  730. RosenkrantzGM +A slight gravitational shift... must be the passing asteroids+
  731. Baine_Mort +Understood+ "Lets keep moving then."
  732. RosenkrantzGM The rattling them comes again. This time more violent.
  733. RosenkrantzGM Katherine: "This is not a stable orbit..."
  734. Baine_Mort "Do you think this station will fall out of orbit soon?"
  735. RosenkrantzGM +Contact!+
  736. RosenkrantzGM The Armsmen begin firing down the corridor.
  737. RosenkrantzGM The flashes of light are almost blinding as they saturate the corridor with shotgun fire.
  738. Baine_Mort takes takes aim
  739. RosenkrantzGM +Hold fire!+
  740. RosenkrantzGM Ahead, several meters, lies the figure of the Armsmen's kill.
  741. Baine_Mort pulls out his power sword, he turns it on and approaching the figure that lies out the ground.
  742. RosenkrantzGM As you approach, the figure becomes more clear...
  743. RosenkrantzGM it is disturbingly human.
  744. Baine_Mort "What the....."
  745. RosenkrantzGM Now destroyed by the concentrated fire, it is hard to find every "piece", but pale human flesh is visible.
  746. RosenkrantzGM Oddly, however... there is no blood.
  747. Baine_Mort "Katherine, come here, this thing."
  748. Baine_Mort "It looks like it was human, but there isn't any blood."
  749. RosenkrantzGM Katherine: "A servitor... ancient design..."
  750. Baine_Mort "Well it looks like it could of fooled me. Never seen a servitor that looks almost human"
  751. RosenkrantzGM Katherine: "I have never seen anything like it... I will need to take samples back to Master Ziel."
  752. Baine_Mort "Go ahead and take what you need."
  753. Baine_Mort +Pilot, get me in contact with Lord Wilhelm. He may want to hear this.+
  754. RosenkrantzGM Pilot: +I will attempt to make contact with the bridge+
  755. Baine_Mort +Understood,let me know when you do.+
  756. Baine_Mort "Sargent, if your men see another one of these servitors I want to try to take it with out damage, now that we know what is most likely on this station."
  757. Baine_Mort turns to Katherine, "Have you got the samples you need?"
  758. RosenkrantzGM "I will collect what I need later. We must make sure there aren't any more on the station."
  759. Baine_Mort "Ok then, though if we can capture one that would be ever better, lets keep moving then."
  760. Baine_Mort begins moving forward down the corridor.
  761. RosenkrantzGM You are followed by the Armsmen.
  762. RosenkrantzGM_ +Bridge here. Come in.+
  763. Baine_Mort +This is Mort, is Lord Wilhelm there?+
  764. RosenkrantzGM_ +He's preparing to leave the ship, I don't think he'll be around for long.+
  765. Baine_Mort +Patch me through to him, he may want to hear this.+
  766. RosenkrantzGM_ +One moment+
  767. RosenkrantzGM_ +Yes, what is it?+
  768. Baine_Mort +My Lord, as you know we have arrived and are on the station, but we found something here.+
  769. RosenkrantzGM_ +What have you found?+
  770. Baine_Mort +It looks to be a ancient servitor, but unlike the ones we have, it looks almost human.+
  771. RosenkrantzGM_ +Emperor's Teeth... that's something for the Enginseer to look at. Bring back a specimen.+
  772. Baine_Mort +We will, though if we find more of these, i will try to get one that is more... intact then the last one we ran into.+
  773. RosenkrantzGM_ +Ah... you broke it?+
  774. Baine_Mort +At the moment there is no lights on so we had no choice at the time but to take it out. And it wasn't really something we saw fully right away as it ran from us upon boarding the station.+
  775. RosenkrantzGM_ +That's fine by me. Ziel, on the other hand...+
  776. Baine_Mort +Yes I know. Hopefully we will find another, Though they still could be dangerous.+
  777. RosenkrantzGM_ +Bring the destroyed servitor with you. Return to the ship, I will be making use of my Gun-Gutter+
  778. Baine_Mort +Understood, we will be back soon.+
  779. Baine_Mort "Looks like we need to return to the ship now, lets gather up what we can from that servitor and get back on the Gun-Cutter." Baine says to the squad and Katherine.
  780. RosenkrantzGM_ +Understood, sir. Securing the servitor and heading back.+
  781. Baine_Mort and the squad gathers up the remains of the servitor and returns to the Gun-Cutter, from there the ship disembarks from the station and head back to the Aurorae.
  782. RosenkrantzGM_ The Aurorae's lighter bays open, and the Aquila enters its protective hull. The Gun-Cutter arrives just behind it.
