  1.
  2. Veyha YanjahlBalmung: | Veyha draws her staff and offers a simple bow to the other before readying herself. Her painted features are grasped and stricken with an ugly, visceral sentiment all at once. Aether swells in the palm of her hand as she hurdles the central platform and encroaches upon the Hyur until they're no more than an arm's length away from one another, and then less as her palm is held out and the approximation of a Goblin's exposive bomb detonates at near point blank towards Tieve.
  3. Tieve Corwell: It goes all too fast for the hearer. Before Veyha's position is made evident, she is before her, and while the round shield is raised, the spell isn't deflected. She falls on her back, nearly ejected out of the platform.
  4. Marceau DelacroixBalmung: "Wow, I barely was able to follow that, at least until the explosion! A massive first strike for Veyha! Can Tieve recover?!"
  5. Edda VincentsBalmung: "...Mimicry. Outside the Coliseum, I've witnessed this sort of thing sparingly -- thought it the domain of charlatans. Knowing this woman's prowess already, however, I find myself wondering."
  6. Tieve Corwell: The woman gets back on all four, some clarity found after the strike. As she rises, she chants. Retribution comes violently: a single pillar of thorned vine bursts near Veyha's feet, to slap her away with force, likely damaging the stage in the process.
  7. Veyha YanjahlBalmung: | Retaliation comes within a blink and the Keeper is tested sorely. The lash of thorned vines strike out against her and drive her back a step, but no more before she plants her foot back and braces. A Coeurl's roar bellows from her as the pupils within her eyes swell, and near eclipse the sickly, yellow rime that borders them. Levin crackles a scintillant course around her before the ozone between them flashes over and Heat Lightning hews a white-hot scar towards Tieve.
  8. Edda VincentsBalmung: "Curious and curiouser -- I recall her last performance being somewhat bestial. Flora versus fauna?"
  9. Marceau DelacroixBalmung: "Don't worry about the stage folks, we'll have that fixed before the next match. We're prepared for giant vines, even if Veyha isn't!"
  10. Tieve Corwell: The Hearer is steady, newfound confidence keeping her in place. She does a single step forward to negate any kind of magic that would come towards her in a flash of blue. The energy that first formed a ward is then changed, and pushed towards Veyha with force: a violent gust looks to sweep the entire stage. It cuts.
  11. Veyha YanjahlBalmung: | The lacerating gale shunts her off balance and rips a path right to the heart of her wards. She bares tooth and fang as the density of her aether swells, and billows out fabric and all else on her person. Inhaling deeply and deeper still, Veyha's chest is filled with an umbral haze that trickles from her maw and frys the air with an audible 'hiss' before she exhales a whorling cloud of Bad Breath towards her opponent.
  12. Tieve Corwell: Stalwart, Tieve takes yet another step forward, through the greenish haze. It swallows the stage for a time, though a brief moment of thrill later, she comes out unscathed, violent winds swirling about keeping her intact. With a quick gesture, she seizes control of the vine again, as if it were her own arm. The sweeping motion translates simply: the vine looks for Veyha's legs, that she may fall.
  13. Edda VincentsBalmung: "Ugh, how hideous. I suppose it's /effective/."
  14. Veyha YanjahlBalmung: || The sweep of the vine made for her legs catches her unawares as the seedkins magic fades and she's delivered back to the forefront of herself. Before she knows it her legs are knocked from underneath her, and her last ward shatters spectacularly. A wince, twists her features briefly as she pushes herself up to a knee and holds a hand up in a show of yielding.
  15. Edda VincentsBalmung: "The elementals must be on this one's side -- Now I'm curious as to how she'd fare elsewhere. Fewer vines back in Thanalan."

  19.
  20. Defiant BrideBalmung: "If Miss Nyau wins t-this round, she's g-guaranteed a spot in the finals... but s-should she lose, it's s-still anyone's game!"
  21. Nyau KotsuBalmung: Readys her staff. Twirling it a few times with her fingers, before readying stance, with glaring eyes, but a warm smile showing along her face.
  22. Nyau KotsuBalmung: | Eye. one is covered. Duh.
  23. Tieve Corwell: The woman breathes in and out, muttering some prayer to Nophica. She then readies herself.
  24. Marceau DelacroixBalmung: "And here we are, Stage two, round two! Can Nyau keep up the momentum? I have my doubts! Mages to the ready! Annnnnd, fight!"
  25. Tieve Corwell: Tieve is alert, this time. The moment the fight is on at the arbiter's notice, she raises her wand. The flowers bloom, and the ground shakes behind Nyau. Several vines suddenly rise from the ground, akin to some wave, to crash on the stage and swallow the mage opposing Tieve in the process.
  26. Nyau KotsuBalmung: Nyau cocks her staff back, and was readying to fire a fireball straight for the Conjurer, though her staff get's caught within a ting of vine. "W-wha-?" Then most of her body, was getting squeezed and grabbed by the wave of vines against her tiny chubby frame. "A-ahhh?!"
  27. Edda VincentsBalmung: "Just burn the vines! Wait, am I meant to be giving advice? No matter, I'll be even about it. Make more vines when she burns them."
  28. Edda VincentsBalmung: "...There's something funny about all this."
  29. Marceau DelacroixBalmung: "A thorn bush of disappointment as Nyau gets her first taste of offensive magic tonight! Will it be enough to unseat her? Let's watch and see!"
  30. Edda VincentsBalmung: "Oh that was AWFUL, Marceau."
  31. Edda VincentsBalmung: "Traders above."
  32. Tieve Corwell: The hearer keeps Nyau between her clutch. There's something cruel about it for a split second, as it looks as though the vines will cradle her, and leave to rest to the ground... But instead, they seize her by the ankles proper, looking to hurl her across the stage, closer to Tieve.
  33. Nyau KotsuBalmung: Nyau get's flung. There's a nice loud thud, as shit hits the Ground a few ilms closer to the conjurer. She'd groan, and slowly pick herself back up, and adjusts her hat with a dazed expression. "Okay....ow....I'm okay...." She'd mutter shaking her head.
  34. Marceau DelacroixBalmung: "And the vines keep on coming! Nyau is on the ropes, it's not looking good folks!"
  35. Edda VincentsBalmung: "Was that another pun? I should flay you. Perhaps the treehugger will do it for me."
  36. Nyau KotsuBalmung: Was still dazed, but got over it quickly. She'd huff, before raising her staff high as levin starts ot enuglff it's metal weapon of magics. The sky has bits of lighting for a second, before she'd cast out a orb of thunder. Right above Tieve before it suddenly bursts down with three seperate strikes in a arc towards her postion all at once.
  37. Tieve Corwell: A miscalculation, perhaps. Tieve misjudges the power of the levinbolts sent her way--The magic likely boosted by the natural energies of the Sylphlands. Her shield is raised, but the barrier is flimsy, and cracks at the second impact. She staggers back, lightning coursing her body as she holds her sides in pain.
  38. Marceau DelacroixBalmung: "Ooooh, the vines have wilted! A withering counterattack by Nyau."
  39. Edda VincentsBalmung: "I did wonder when they'd give out -- striking at the source seems to have worked. Bring us more vines, conjurer! Smash your opponent into the dirt!"
  40. Edda VincentsBalmung: "...I suppose you could technically do something else, but the vine strategy has rather successful."
  41. Edda VincentsBalmung: has been* D'OH ))
  42. Tieve Corwell: retaliates, and any capable magicker, or fighter in the crowd, might notice that it is done in anger. The spell is strong, but uneven. Tieve snarls, wand used in the fashion of a conductor. Vines dance back into earth, and disappearing for a moment... Reappear as a woven fist.
  43.
  44. Tieve Corwell: || It looks to punch Nyau's offstage, sideways.
  45. Nyau KotsuBalmung: Blinks. Her whole body went numb and sulked just from the appearance of a large vine fist. "Oh Dear...." She'd quickly cast a manaward, though is still struck, and sent flying for a good second before tumbling and landing in the dirt off the stage with a good few "Oofs" and "ows"
  46. Edda VincentsBalmung: "FANTASTIC! Can they form into a spiked mace as well? I fondly recall splattering a handful of muggers with a fist of ice on my way home once-- Oh! She's out."
  47. Edda VincentsBalmung: "...Where'd she go?"
  48.
  49.
  50. Tieve Corwell: Tieve raises her wand and her shield heavensward. The wood and flora manipulated, their forms shift, melding, leaving some elongated mass of aether. The two-handed staff in her hands seized, she bows, ready to begin her ultimate duel.
  51. Nyau KotsuBalmung: twirls her staff. readying herself. She'd grin as the Spear glows with surging aether from her body.
  52. Nyau KotsuBalmung: staff*)
  53. Marceau DelacroixBalmung: "And here we are folks, the finals. The best of the best, two mages enter, one mage will leave victorious. Who will it be. Let's find out! Final round, Fight!"
  54. Edda VincentsBalmung: "...It is as if she wishes to summon forth an avatar of nature, a captain of the world itself that will rid it of all pollution."
  55. Tieve Corwell: The woman immediately drags her staff as one would with a scythe: it is taken with both hands, and the harvesting motion, focus lifted upwards, draws stalagmites piercing through the stage, rushing towards Nyau.
  56. Nyau KotsuBalmung: puts up her staff as it finishes casting. Flinging bursts of fire bals towards The woman. Though they'd colide with some of the stalamites, though there's more of them then her own spell. She'd suddenly duck and put up a shield to block though it fazes from the impact leaving her winded for a moment. "Tsk."
  57. Nyau KotsuBalmung: Nyau huffs and grins before standing back up. She'd raise her staff as violent winds surrounded her person, before firing an orb of air towards Tieve in a curved manner. Then a duel cast of fireball bursting towards the other angle in a pincher attack aimming to colide and cause a minature explosion.
  58. Tieve Corwell: Nyau's guile proved efficient, the second spell impossible to foresee. The decoy of air was deflected, but fire hit her ward, and she staggered, nearly losing the grip on her focus.
  59. Marceau DelacroixBalmung: "To hell with the stage repairs, we're just goign to have to replace this thing! Tieve strikes first, but Nyau hit's back hard, with fire! This is shaping up to be one heck of a finale!"
  60. Tieve Corwell: Tieve reiterated, relentless. Though the new stalagmite bursting forth are a decoy: to lead Nyau where she would want her. Rain and dew gathered in the background look to strike the lalafellin figure from behind, with the force of a flood.
  61. Tieve Corwell: stalagmites* )
  62. Nyau KotsuBalmung: manages to fall for the diversion. casing a few scathes to dispell the stalagmites though gets hit with a burst of water from behind causing her to stumble and huff out.
  63. Marceau DelacroixBalmung: "And Tieve strikes back, the ground itself doing her bidding! It's not looking good for Nyau!"
  64. Tieve Corwell: With both hands, she plants her staff before her, summoning vines, thorns, water. They circle as Nyau as serpents would. Streaks of clear liquid, green, brown; flowers come to bloom on the roots. Tieve twists her staff in a dry motion, and coils spin closer to Nyau's figure, sudden, to smother her.
  65. Nyau KotsuBalmung: BLinks at the sights , and tries to dispell it. Though she'd eventually gets tangled up, and smothered and held together with water, vines, and flowers. Grunting. she'd wiggle abou unable to really move, while also getting drentched with the spell.
  66. Tieve Corwell: Tieve keeps her staff steady, empty and clouded eyes turning towards where the announcers might be.
  67. Edda VincentsBalmung: "Excellent work!"
  68. Tieve Corwell: Tieve releases Nyau.
