Cope is more like this "you dont agree with my esoteric right wing sentiments? Well you're just dumb or liberal, it doesnt reflect on my persuasiveness at all. Please respond"

The cope comes in for how often these ideas are just vague excuse-making for less accomplished Europeans. Liberalism is in twilight so the more free and wealthy Northern Europeans can be criticized. Sort of from this pov that "we meant to lose on purpose, we knew winning would be bad you meanies"
