  2. [20:14] <Jacek> "That man is a disgrace!"
  3. [20:14] <Jacek> Jacek seems... Rather peeved.
  4. 01[20:14] <SpaceThor> Dwali, with her finely honed dwarven senses, already has mugs of beer for you.
  5. 06[20:16] * Sepideh_Madani enters, looking intrigued.
  6. [20:18] <Jacek> Jacek drains a mug in one gulp, slamming it down with a grumbled curse. "Murder on his lands, and he does nothing, nothing! Ignoring innocent blood for petty politics... He's no nobleman!" He pauses, looking rather dejected, grumbling something about 'Although she's not much better'.
  7. 06[20:19] * Tanoran drops her things in a corner and joins Sepideh at a table nearby. "That was really weird, actually."
  8. [20:20] <Sepideh_Madani> "I do not think nobility of spirit actually has an effect on nobility of bloodline."
  9. [20:20] <LawfulPhone> Eliza arrives a few minutes later. "Sorry. I needed to pray for guidance."
  10. [20:21] <LawfulPhone> She sits and sighs. "Unfortunately Bahamut didn't tell me what to do, but that's because I already know I need to seek the truth."
  11. [20:24] <Tanoran> "The short version, Sep, is that the noble guy for the area is preeeeetty much in on it, at least as regarding people killing the pilgrims. He's set on blaming someone across the border, like he's itching for an excuse to go to war."
  12. 06[20:25] * Sepideh_Madani sighs, rubbing her temples. "That is worrying."

  14. [20:25] <Jacek> "And people call Krzymosze warmongers."
  15. [20:25] <Jacek> More grumbling ensues.
  16. [20:26] <LawfulPhone> "It's all a pretense. An excuse to wage war
  17. [20:27] <LawfulPhone> "I just wish I understood why."
  18. [20:27] <Tanoran> "Greed. Pride. Ambition." Tanoran shrugs. "The stories are full of reasons for why people do stupid and bloody things."
  19. [20:27] <Jacek> "Blood and honour. They lost last time, badly." He grumbles more. "But there's way to start a war properly..."
  20. [20:28] <Sepideh_Madani> "How old is he?"
  21. [20:28] <Tanoran> "Eh, like their age." She points to Jacek.
  22. [20:29] <LawfulPhone> Eliza thinks, ordering tea and tapping her fingers on the table.
  23. [20:30] <Sepideh_Madani> "Very young...he may not have fought last time, potentially." She nods. "That would explain a lack of caution."
  24. [20:31] <Jacek> "...Wasn't there something about his father being killed, and the bugger on the other side building your temple?" Jacek frowns. "...My tutors tried to keep me abreast of local politics..."
  25. [20:33] <LawfulPhone> "Do you think it's a quest for revenge, using a war as a way to strike?"
  26. [20:33] <Jacek> Jacek pauses, looking at Eliza again. "...Oh bugger."
  27. [20:34] <Tanoran> "Lots of buggers in your speech tonight."
  28. [20:35] <Jacek> "It was probably a bad idea bringing you with us, Priestess..."
  29. [20:36] <LawfulPhone> "I would help no one hiding away."
  30. [20:36] <LawfulPhone> "I'm stronger than I look, you know." Though she sure does bleed a lot.
  31. [20:37] <Jacek> "I more meant that... I think he sees your temple as an insult."
  32. [20:38] <LawfulPhone> "And me as the bearer of that insult, right to his door?"
  33. [20:38] <Tanoran> "Well...I'd be surprised if he wasn't already planning all of this, so would it matter...?"
  34. 06[20:39] * Sepideh_Madani nods, noting this all down in her book.
  35. [20:40] <Jacek> "Well, it's unlikely to have helped."
  36. [20:40] <LawfulPhone> "If he takes offense to justice and truth because of the source, he doesn't truly care about either."
  37. [20:44] <Tanoran> "That much was obvious with the way he treated us. When presented with actual truth, he deflected it and stuck with his pretexts."
  38. [20:46] <LawfulPhone> "There's only one thing to do."
  39. [20:47] <LawfulPhone> "We must expose him to the light of truth."
  40. 06[20:48] * Sepideh_Madani chuckles. "In that case, evidence will be important. An accusation of the nobility without it would be...difficult."
  41. [20:49] <LawfulPhone> "Unfortunately." Eliza nods.
  42. [20:50] <Jacek> "...Who would we even take it to?"
  43. [20:53] <LawfulPhone> "The people."
  44. [20:54] <LawfulPhone> "A throne only holds someone for as long as others support them."
  45. [20:55] <Jacek> "...I'm not sure. Nobody here wants a war, but I'm not sure they're sympathetic to the people who burned it down the last time."
  46. [20:58] <LawfulPhone> "We have to give them a chance." She sighs. "Maybe I should drink something stronger than tea."
  47. 03[21:01] * Aurora ([email protected]) has joined #stpfic
  48. [21:01] <Tanoran> "We can always try it." She smiles just a bit. "Emotions can go a long way toward influencing proper thinking, after all~"
  49. [21:03] <LawfulPhone> "Indeed. Truth leads the way but emotions move people to act."
  50. [21:05] <LawfulPhone> Eliza hesitantly orders a drink. She doesn't drink enough to know what it's called, but it was colored green so it's probably got herbs.
  51. 06[21:05] * Sepideh_Madani nods. "If he was involved, there needs to have been a way he communicated with them."
