  1. [23:12] Agrien Vandroy says, "I'll step upstairs to let Eve know we're here, she loves to cook and brew teas, go ahead and take your seats, please."
  2. [23:12] Bertrand Volgin says, "I usually let the host pick my spot. I'm... Not really invited to dinner or something more than putting up an act to fancy stuff like this."
  3. [23:12] Agrien Vandroy says, "You can use the harpsichord if you know how to use it too, Mr. Volgin. I always fancied music."
  4. [23:13] Tanya Ise says, "Dunno if ya' want me sittin' might leave behind a stench."
  5. [23:14] Had no clue about proper seating arrangement for things, so she'd hop into a seat at one of the ends of the table since it seemed like it'd have the most stretching room.
  6.
  7. Finding her spot, she'd plop, practically throwing her back into the chair and sat with her legs crossed, hunching forward, looking over the table at the others with a hint of glee in their eyes and curiosity.
  8. (Ishizu)
  9. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  10.
  11. [23:14] Agrien Vandroy says, "Tanya my lass, if I weren't wearing this perfume I'd be smelling like roasted mud after being stepped on by a walking flower."
  12. [23:14] Agrien Vandroy says, "That's alchemy for you- But go ahead and sit down."
  13. [23:14] Agrien Vandroy says, "I'll call Eve."
  14. [23:14] Bertrand Volgin says, "Hmm... I'll sit here."
  15. [23:15] Ishizu says, "I'm at least a 'bit' clean today after digging coins out of the fountains."
  16. [23:15] Nerin says, "Hm."
  17. [23:16] Ishizu says, "The guards didn't like me and my friend bathing and taking coins from the fountain though."
  18. [23:16] Ishizu says, "Figured two birds, one stone while we were collecting."
  19. [23:16] Agrien Vandroy asks, "I mean, you weren't unclothed in public while at it, were you?"
  20. [23:16] Nerin says, "Hopefully not..."
  21. [23:16] Ishizu says, "Nah, was wearing these dirty rags."
  22. [23:16] Ishizu says, "Rather clean up in a stream."
  23. [23:17] Ishizu says, "Or a barrel."
  24. [23:17] Ishizu says, "That way, I can keep it warm."
  25. [23:17] Bertrand soon enough moves towards the harpsichord. A few moments are taken to analyze the instrument. It looks like a piano, but it feels different to look at it, or so he thought.
  26.
  27. One key, then the next, then the next. He starts experimenting, right then and there, perhaps for the hatred of them all - Although his notion of rhythm certainly isn't underwhelming. One by one, he starts to pick up the pace.
  28.
  29. After a brief recognition of what each key sounds like, he starts experimenting further. Chords, and then, both hands at once. This takes some time for him to realize, however; But the air seems to try and help him, muffling the sounds whenever any taps were botched, or at least trying to tune in.
  30.
  31. Sometimes, it resulted in horrendous noises spreading from the harpsichord - Other times, it resulted in a beautiful succession of quick notes.
  32. (Bertrand Volgin)
  33. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  34.
  35. [23:19] Amidst this conversation, he turns his gaze to Ishizu, speaking out.
  36.
  37. "Why not start somewhere in life though? Begin doing manual labor if you got nothing else, save up coin, get a house, etcetera."
  38.
  39. "I'm technically from middle-class, but I got jackshit from my own family and just banded with other guys my age - guys that I call family now. We worked for ourselves and got pretty far by now."
  40.
  41. "Don't have to keep wearing those rags, you know."
  42.
  43. Then again.. he's heard that there's certain mentality to some people, that they simply enjoy living this way - and even if given opportunity, they wouldn't change it up. How odd.
  44. (Nerin)
  45. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  46.
  47. [23:21] Agrien liked the music, even if often times it sounded like a dying animal of some kind. She never had the ears for the fine tunes, growing up to harmonicas and other foot-stomping bard songs in the slums. Anything coming from a piano - or a harpsichord - would immediately be good for her.
  48.
  49. Still, she leaned forward on her seat, turning her face to look at Tanya. Since Nerin was holding his talking with Ishizu, she decided to keep it with the other girl so no one would be left out.
  50.
  51. "So, Tanya. What is it you do in Sudbury most of the time? You're not one of the pit fighters, are you?"
  52. (Agrien Vandroy)
  53. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  54.
  55. [23:22] Was sat in their chair with their legs crossed and feet seemingly digging into the corners of the chair, tail swaying behind them without a care.
  56.
  57. "Manual labor pays little most of the time compared to the work itself around here. Reason I went on a spree when I came out in the Noble district through the sewers on accident. Figured they wouldn't notice a few missing things here and there. Even had some princess looking one toss a bag of coins at me when I bet they couldn't hit me with any.~"
  58.
  59. Giggling to themselves, she seemed rather upbeat, clearly feeling as if she outsmarted the richer folk into giving her their disposable income!
  60.
  61. "Besides, it ain't like I haven't done hard labor, I bounce around to test lots of waters. Even checked out the church, but they were really playing up seeing a dead gingers body. Acting like bodies ain't common in the slums in general."
  62. (Ishizu)
  63. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  64.
  65. [23:26] Perhaps it actually was part of mentality.
  66.
  67. It's not something that Nerin could understand; what he could relate is feeling jaded due to noble-born having such immense advantage right off the bat, and deliberately push that into your face - but regardless of advantages that are had, one could always rise up.
  68.
  69. Somewhere, to be something. Though..
  70.
  71. "A spree..?"
  72.
  73. "Oh. So... you take people's things, I assume?" Well, she quite literally said that, hadn't she?
  74.
  75. "Careful. One day luck can be really against you, and that activity is exceedingly dangerous."
  76. (Nerin)
  77. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  78.
  79. [23:27] She'd take a seat, attempting to sit at a seat away from the others, but that wasn't really doable. The only ones that she was familiar with were Aranea and Evelyn, the rest were complete strangers. Strangers were something she wasn't all to comfortable with.
  80.
  81. They were being hospitable though, so she wouldn't be rude seeing as they weren't. Plus they weren't annoying either really.
  82.
  83. "A pit fighter? Nah, I like fightin' and all but I ain't ever been in any pit fights. Though I would be lyin' if I said somethin' I ain't ever seen or tried before didn't someone interest me, only cause' it involves fightin' though."
  84.
  85. She had a thing for fighting if they couldn't tell. Whether that was by her own choice or simply because she had to. She wouldn't really go into specifics on that. She didn't feel that it was something worth telling or something they needed to know.
  86.
  87. "I don't do much in Sud though, just messin' with people here and there and havin' the occasional scrap against someone if they try and rob me or do somethin' to piss me off, y'know?"
  88.
  89. That last part, was rather easy to do. She wouldn't say that either though.
  90. (Tanya Ise)
  91. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  92.
  93. [I Got DC'd here, but I assume I got enough of a log here]
  94.
  95. [00:37] The actor looked over to the new pieces of armor made by Agrien. A brief clap came from Bertrand, a wide smile supplanting on his face as he positioned back again on the harpsichord, stroking at each key occasionally to try and assimilate the sound once again.
  96.
  97. "It looks like a true piece of art as all your crafting, miss Vandroy." He comments, before going back to striking a particularly sharp note, assimilating its sound carefully.
  98.
  99. Yet, he had to spare some thought to it. "This is the sort of thing that you should really value, miss... Tanya, wasn't it?" He turned towards her, a wide smile present on the actor's face for a second, before he turned to the instrument once again.
  100.
  101. "But I wonder, wouldn't the heavier metal stop you from being fast?"
  102. (Bertrand Volgin)
  103. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  104.
  105. [00:43] "I got the idea after we've treated our masked friend the other day." she said as she leaned against the back of the red chair, putting both of her crossed arms on top of it, and resting her chin on her arms, looking at Nerin first. "His hands were pretty messed up, so I thought how someone could throw some punches without hurting themselves like that. It had to be something...Uh, something that wouldn't get on the way, too. That's the first idea I had, I'll definitely improve the design based on what Tanya tells me here."
  106.
  107. She grinned for a moment, ever so proud of her works, and she nodded at Ishizu across the table.
  108.
  109. "Oh definitely. Keep in mind I've designed that but I don't know how to fight, so all the effort there is almost totally from my head. Theoretical and all."
  110.
  111. With a playful smirk she remained on that position, resting her chin on the top of the back of the chair as she continued.
  112.
  113. "Well I...I can make you gauntlets more akin to those of a plate armor but I'm not so sure you'd be able to swing your arms with something so heavy around them. Steel could do, but...Well. We don't have much steel around, so we'll have to sit on that idea for a while."
  114.
  115. With a wink at Tanya, she glanced back at the pianist, with a tilt of her head.
  116.
  117. "The true artist here is you, Mr. Volgin. I'm just a sharp toy maker. Speaking of art...Do you have any music you've made yourself, or you play- What do you call music that were made by other people?"
  118.
  119. She asked as if she was trying to ask if Volgin was a composer too.
  120. (Agrien Vandroy)
  121. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  122.
  123. [00:50] So it appeared as part of the idea behind what they've both seen.
  124.
  125. He could get behind that, truthfully; though safety was not his concern anymore, the fact that such gloves could be made to actually empower the combatant was... certainly alluring. If anything, he imagines that something unique could be made in order to bolster the martial artist's efficiency.
  126.
  127. Something that was never seen before.
  128.
  129. "I think I'm having few ideas myself over this.. hm." Although, after saying that much, he evidently falls silent for a moment, mulling over that thought.
  130.
  131. "Perhaps something to enhance one's strikes or accelerate them instead. Something with runework."
  132.
  133. Something to actually give an additional edge, and not just the protection.
  134. (Nerin)
  135. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  136.
  137. [00:51] "Hmm.. well. Ya'd probably focus the metal parts more around the hands and feet instead of across the wearers whole arms and legs, ya'? If ya' going for some extra punch and protection for the hands rather than the whole arm. Would still be a bit difficult to wield but nothin' a bit more muscle couldn't fix."
  138.
  139. She was already decently muscular, but she didn't plan on stopping at her muscular level really. The more muscle she had, the stronger she could punch and kick. That's how she saw it really. It's why she had her own set of improvised weights at her house.
  140.
  141. "Steel might be a bit difficult to get ya'. I heard some rumors about a fee bein' required to enter the mines now. Something the Enarchs or nobles put in place. It's why I ain't gone there recently."
  142.
  143. It was still a shame really. She wanted to venture deeper into the mines and see what all was in the depths, but that didn't seem possible as of now. She could just imagine what cool things could be down there to gather, or fight.
  144.
  145. Something popped into her head though.
  146.
  147. "Whatever happened to that tea? It's been quite a while."
  148. (Tanya Ise)
  149. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  150.
  151. [00:53] "I'm not a musician. My true calling was on different fields of arts." He commented, still playing on the harpsichord; The composition slowly grew more complex, as if he was simply assimilating the small parts of how it worked. Whatever combinations of notes... Struck.
  152.
  153. "Art is, however, anything we make. Fighters can be artists. Artificers can be artists. As long as you express yourself, you're an artist." He commented, although it was obvious his speech was out of place here, at least for now. They were talking about crafting and fighting.
  154.
  155. Two things that he did not understand well, to say the least.
  156.
  157. And as such, the actor continued to play, calmly.
  158. (Bertrand Volgin)
