The police are still investigating Mr. Kamoshida, so I can't say anything myself.

As a teacher though, I'm ashamed for not having noticed that a student was suffering like that...

弁解じゃないけど、同僚として見る限りじゃ、鴨志田先生は、まあ普通の人だったから。
I'm not defending him, but as a colleague, he just seemed like... well, a normal person.
