  1. Excellent article Natalie, thank you. Nicely rebuts the fuzzy-headedness of 'ethical' vegetarianism. As a biologist (and sometime hunter) I have no problem with the some animals dying so that others might live - or perhaps the vegans believe we should hunt all the lions, wolves, etc. to extinction to stop their 'unethical' behavior. Humans are just another omnivore on the planet. The distinction vegans make between plants and animals is a totally arbitrary one based on a 'warm-fuzzies' bias and lack of clear thought.

  3. And to those vegans who decry the 'inhumanity' of killing a cow or a pig for meat, try watching a moose getting ripped apart and devoured by wolves while still kicking and bellowing. I have. It happens on a daily basis. Makes a human hunter or a meat processing plant look awfully darn 'humane'. Vegans should try getting out of their gardens and taking a hike in a national park.
