background:
	Mariko grew up in Vancouver, Canada where her parents had met. She grew up in a wealthy household with her father the ceo of a chain for a pharmaceutical company and her mother a surgeon at one of the most expensive and well off hospitals. Growing up she was showered with love from her family members and wasn't the type to feel like she wasn't loved. But at the same time she felt like she wasn't ever listened to. I think one of the main reasons why she's so used to bottling her emotions was because there was never someone back home that she can talk to because they were all busy, she felt like there was never someone there to listen to her. I think she grew up with the mentality that no one will be able to have time to listen, to stop and focus on what you're saying because it's not that important. Or at least in her case she feels as though she's not that important to be focused upon.
	For a majority of her childhood she was always told what she couldn't do. Not because of her parents but mainly because she attended a Catholic private school that she simply loathed. She was always told that her dreams was impractical, that becoming a producer or dancer wouldn't pay the bills and that it doesn't add up to the lifestyle her parents had. See, because her parents were so good and intelligent it didn't match up. In the eyes of many she was always judged for what she loved and pursued. To them it didn't make sense that the daughter of a wealthy scientist and a well known surgeon should be something as stupid as a producer or dancer. She grew up with her siblings who supported her no matter what. She remembers playing music with them and singing and dancing in their large, empty living room whilst the nanny was making dinner since their parents weren't to return until late at night. She grew up with music, she grew up with the arts and music because her brother and sister were people who knew how much it motivated her, how much it made her happy. She played music at a young age, mainly the cello or the piano. And then as she got older her span of instruments grew to the guitar, the trumpet, and many more.
	Her life at the academy isn't anything special, mainly because she tries her best not to stand out. Though she is well known in the academy as a prestigious music producer and one of the most phenomenal dancers that's all they know her for. She doesn't try to stand out. Because of her quiet nature she's seen as either cold or bitchy with her resting bitch face, but it's not her fault she doesn't care enough to try. Everyone finds it odd how her only friends were those who are Merlins (of course they don't know) but they're people who are nothing like her so it'd odd. She doesn't try to stand out much and prefers to focus on her music producing and dancing. Because she refuses to speak with others there are several rumors about her. The one she hears the most is that she got into the academy because of her parents' wealth.

personality:
	I think the root of why she always bottles up her emotions is something she dealt with as a child. It's not something she does purposely, but it's something she does because she's so used to it. Growing up she never knew how to share her emotions, to truly express it, and this may be because her parents were working and she was in that awkward phase where she wondered if it was okay for her to tell her siblings. And I think because she bottles up her emotions she's always so stressed and bitter, hence why she doesn't show her positive traits. She's so focused on her own problems that she's not sure how to deal with other people's happiness or their good attitude when she can barely take care of her own problems. She grew up with the mentality that not everyone has time to listen to others' problems and that it's best to take care of things on your own. She taught this to herself and I think she struggles the most with how to take care of herself.
	But this flaw of her, this inability to express her emotions and bottling up will definitely be her downfall. She's so focused on others that she tends to have this idea that she's not important, she's not good enough to be focused on. And at this point she's bottled everything up that she knows that the moment she releases all those emotions, all those feelings, everything will go to Hell. In a way it's almost like she's protecting others from seeing another image of her, a different side of her that is not the person she is or the person she stands for.
	Though this does tend to her awkward side. She's very blunt, she's very honest, and this was the environment she grew up in. It may have been harsh, but it honestly shaped the person she is. She grew up with teachers telling her that she's not good enough and in a way it sort of made her have thicker skin, to stand up and to be blunt if she has to. I think she uses her honesty as a shield, to prevent herself from getting hurt if the truth is already out there. Sometimes her honesty isn't the best, like she'll tell you straight up if your relationship is going to shit or not or if that dress really looks good on you when everyone else will lie to you. But she's honestly one of the most genuine human beings on this Earth. It's because she grew up so honesty she hates when people are untruthful or not genuine. She loves as much as she hates. Truth be told if you're crying or you need advice she may not be the best person to go to. But she cares in the most secret way, it's almost like she'll personally deal with your problems for you. Like for example someone picked on you, don't go crying to her because honestly she'd just awkwardly pat your back and nod her head. But the minute you're gone she's going to go find that bully and beat them up for you or give them a good mental breakdown with some tough words for hurting the people she loves.
	Mariko is strong, I think in many ways. She's the opposite of ENDING SCENE in the way that she's not as emotional. I feel as though she's emotionally strong enough to stop herself from breaking down in front of others and to not do anything reckless as well. I think she's strong in the way where she's not graceful (only when she's dancing) but she emits this aura that's really intimidating.
	She's also very careful and studious. Since she handles the combat aspects she studies on the other's moves, their aura, their body, and her surroundings. I think this ties in with her intelligence where she can mentally multi task and study and make decisions on the spot considering all their consequences and the actions it'll require.
	She's definitely quiet, but not always in good way. She's the silent but deadly type of girl where she doesn't say much unless it's something on her mind. She will not be afraid to stay still and watch everything before making the last blow. She won't speak unless she's being addressed, something that involves her, or if someone she cares about is involved as well. Majority of the time she doesn't talk, she refuses to, but it's because she's thinking, wondering, and trying to contain her emotions.
	Protective is what she is as well. I honestly can compare her to that of a soccer mom. Like someone protective over their kids (in this case, her friends) and will bad mouth others if she has to. Definitely foul mouth and isn't afraid. Words are her best attributes, her best weapons, and she will not hesitate to dig your own grave with the words she sprouts.

how they met:
	He was looking for Hoseok in the dance room and found her there practicing a piece that's for an upcoming assignment. I imagine it to be almost like an auditorium stage or something like that and she's practicing by herself even though it's a couple's piece. He could see her getting frustrated and smirks and would probably join her by surprise. Like she's trying to focus on the steps and he's suddenly behind her with his hands on her waist trying to follow her guide. Knowing Mariko she definitely got surprised and tried swinging a right hook at Taehyung, but he caught her fist and gave a cheeky grin like 'Hi nice to meet you.'
first impressions:
	HER:
		She's easily annoyed by him. Immediately she classified him as a pretty boy who's trying to have fun or try his luck with another girl. I think it's because he interrupted her knowing how annoyed and frustrated she is with dancing and he doesn't seem to care. Her first impression is that he's reckless or childish.
	HIM:
		He thinks she's beautiful, of course, but he thinks she has a stick up her butt. I think immediately he thinks she's uptight and that she doesn't know how to have fun or that she's too serious. In his eyes he thinks that she doesn't know how to have fun or the idea of fun at all.

how they act around each other:
	BEGINNING:
		They definitely annoy each other. I think she's more annoyed with everything he does that she doesn't know what to do. For her this is the first time she's met someone like him and it frustrates her that she cannot simply push him away. He's definitely clingy and loves to annoy her mainly because of the reaction he gets out of her. She tries to avoid him as much as possible, but knowing him he probably does it because it's his new source of fun. She gets angered more easily because of him and finds herself becoming more childish with her remarks because of him.
	MIDDLE:
		I think slowly he realizes what type of person he is and in his eyes he feels as though there's now no one to really take care of her. He wants to take care of her and slowly he's subconsciously watching out for her. Truthfully she's more open towards him which is odd because she's not as open with the other slots. She's definitely more quiet and sometimes even a little more shy towards him. I think at this point they realized that they sort of like one another and it's getting complicated for both of them. They both know the nature of one another and at this point they're slowly trying to separate one another and get distance. But it's hurting them both which sucks.
	END:
		He can't be what she needs and he never can. I think at this point he's not the same person he was before for her and he's trying to distance himself even more. But for her she's finding herself change for him which is terrible. He's toxic for her. But I think she feels as though she can't be without him, that her life is bettered now because for once there is someone to listen to her. She's more lenient for him.

	Knowing her she's probably dreaming about a drama of her life where she's the main lead and what not.

	She's probably trying to find shelter or go home right away. Like she hates being in the rain.

your character has a choice between a knife and a gun and they can only take one or neither, what does your character choose? why?
	I think she'd take the knife because she's more use with hand to hand combat and I think for her a knife is like another extension to her body.

what genre of music does your character listen to? how often and why?
	Probably Korean ballads and it's because she loves the lyrics and the melody. It's mainly because she's trying to decipher the keys or the notes being played and the different instruments.

a jump-scare occurs in a horror movie! how does your character react?
	She'd curse so badly and would probably kick or close her eyes or like cover her eyes immediately.

there is a kitten meowing in a dark alleyway; it is late at night and your character needs to catch the bus, but it sounds desperate. what does your character do?
	Mariko would curse, run to the kitten and run towards the bus with the cat screaming for the driver to wait for her. She'd curse along the way like 'Goddammit why me of all days. I swear to God I am not taking care of this kitten. FIrst thing tomorrow I'm going to the adoption center.'

if your character was not a merlin, how do you think their life would be?
	I think it'd be very plain. Like her music wouldn't transition or grow at all because she gets most of her inspiration by being a Merlin, by doing what she loves. She'd probably be a loner at school with no friends because let's be honest she would never make friends on her own.
