  1. "To become someone else who I really am,
  2. A Lover.
  3. This is the Confessional Story of a Serial Seducer."
  4. --------------
  5. From those three lines, we can see that the poet does not have much skill in poetry. There is no indication of meter in the poem, and as such, any regularity is missing. Although arguably, this could be a form of free verse, the poem reads like a train being derailed with extreme prejudice, making it unlikely.
  6.
  7. Furthermore, the poet does not seem to have a good sense of grammar - even though he tries to distort syntax into something equivalent to the kind found in Middle English poetical devices, they do not even make any form of sense. Another problem found in this poet's skill is the punctuation. The rest of the poem is written in the same way as these lines - an overreliance on end-stopped lines, further worsening the flow of the entire piece.
  8.
  9. If the poem was written in a structure that had some regularity, or even some kind of flow to it, the capitalisation would not have been out of place, and would instead emphasise the points that the poem wishes to make: that it is a form of confession of a self-proclaimed Casanova.
  10.
  11. On the subject of confession, however, the poem is referred to as a confession. This is a misnomer, as there is absolutely no humility in all 20? 21? of the lines. Instead, it reads more of a boast, although a tone of regret and brooding to the point of parody can be found in the middle of the poem.

  13. I am sorry for this essay but I finally got in a English Lit mood
