Are your characters born with magic? Do they get their magic from a god or nature? Once you’ve established that, how do your characters tap into their magic?

Is magic something characters control from within them? Are there rituals, spells or tools required to perform magic? If so, what are the rules and how were they discovered?If there are different kinds of magic (i.e. different powers, different schools of magic): list them. Are there different rules for each?

<br><br><b>What does your magic look like?</b><br><br>

Describe the physical process of performing magic (or if magic itself has a physical appearance).

<br><br><b>What are the costs of performing magic? What are its limits?</b><br><br>

Also consider: what are the defences against magic in your world? What is in place to keep magic from being a quick solution to solving all your plot conflicts?

<br><br><b>Who can do magic? Who can’t do magic?</b><br><br>

And once you’ve established who can and cannot, how do those who cannot feel about those who can?

<br><br><b>How has magic affected your world?</b><br><br>

Does everyone know about magic? Is it a secret? If not, how has your world building been affected by it? Consider: politics, science, religion, architecture, holidays and festivals. Does magic extend beyond human beings? How is nature or the animal kingdom affected?

Create a list of any and all magical artifacts that appear in your project. What are they? What is their purpose? How do they work?
