  1. [14:54] With a few things out of the way, she can finally begin her biggest priority. What a daunting task that fell to her primarily.
  2.
  3. But Machines don't spin with singular cogs.
  4.
  5. So, she takes to an expert of the particular task upon her. The woman made her approach. Light clacks of her heels first alert them until she stands before her brother and sister-in-law.
  6.
  7. "I require your set of skills and eye for something of dire importance. Please come with me." Matryona speaks solely to Bruno in this moment.
  8. (Matryona pyr Docro)
  9. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  10.
  11. [14:56] Bruno stares down towards his sister when such a request is made. If she came to him asking him for this kind of work it either had to do with hurting someone or it was, much against Matryona's own claims, something unfit for a weapon. Either way she likely would order him if he decided to make this any longer.
  12.
  13. "I suppose I can help." He said, looking over to Anna and questioning both whether she could come and if she wanted to.
  14. (Bruno pyr Aertas)
  15. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  16.
  17. [14:58] Matryona looks over to Anastasia. As a High Council member, she's soon to depart for that spoken summit. Naturally, the Captain had no reason to be there.
  18.
  19. She hates meetings.
  20.
  21. And would much rather pursue this. Matryona nods to the woman before turning and taking her leave.
  22. (Matryona pyr Docro)
  23. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  24.
  25. [15:02] Anastasia lifts her shoulders slightly indifferently. "I can come and watch for a while. I may need to depart at some point out of necessity." She did have to attend the summit, but that wasn't for another few hours. She had time to kill.
  26. (Anastasia pyr Aertas)
  27. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  28.
  29. [15:03] While not personal, it's of importance and rather quiet for now. But, eventually Anastasia would find out. Unfortunately, there's nothing for her to do but sit and watch.
  30.
  31. Either way, she departs. Out the gates, south and to the Docro manor,
  32. (Matryona pyr Docro)
  33. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  34.
  35. [15:12] Into her room- A workspace primarily. There's things scattered about. Blackened metals bent and curved to form some sort of sphere but it's incomplete.
  36.
  37. She rolls her shoulders back and places Augury elsewhere for the time being before turning to Bruno to properly explain what it is she's doing.
  38.
  39. "I'm heading what could be history." She begin. Dainty gloved hands rest behind at her backside. "I've been tasked in creating something meant to be kept quiet by only those involved. That means it doesn't leave this room."
  40.
  41. No Council or whispering to others. "As said, you have a particular skillset which I in dire need of. Destruction. I need to create something that can annihilate everything in its path and beyond."
  42.
  43. Judging by the structures off to the side, it can be assumed that what she seeks is a bomb. But not any. "Here, look at this," The woman moved to her workspace and rummaged about the desk before precuring an old parchment. She hands it to him and it's rather incomplete but seems to branch off.
  44.
  45. Life or destruction.
  46.
  47. "I'm creating a bomb and no one else can know of this." Family secrets. "Are there any questions?" She first asks before going through her own thought process.
  48. (Matryona pyr Docro)
  49. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  50.
  51. [15:13] {Item} You picked up The Forgotten Master Rune. Dropped by Matryona pyr Docro..
  52. [15:20] Bruno looked around the room that was in far more of a mess than his workshop. It seemed that the infamous family had begun affecting Matryona even to the degree of chaos she would accept in her life. He took ample time to make a comment about it.
  53.
  54. "This room is hardly in order." Because he had to. Who else but her brother would call her out for leaving half-finished projects and scattered materials? Regardless the man took note of the parchment, taking it for himself and scanning it from top to bottom. The depiction of an ancient, long-forgotten rune was upon it. A source of power that could wrought great destruction or breathe alive a new life.
  55.
  56. A few moments passed before he handed the parchment back over.
  57.
  58. "If it's nothing but destruction you seek from this I suggest you power it using occult energies cast forth with the intent to raze, destroy, and kill. The rune alone won't be enough to cause great damage, however. A way to magnify it, multiply it, or simply a great source of energy that it can affect to cause a chain reaction is needed if you aim at anything bigger than a small room."
  59. (Bruno pyr Aertas)
  60. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  61.
  62. [15:21] {Item} You drop The Forgotten Master Rune.
  63. [15:26] Her section lost all sense of order. With how daunting it is and how perfect it needs to be, it's natural that she attempts things and leaves it be to salvage later.
  64.
  65. "I'm aware."
  66.
  67. Ryker's had a chaos of its own but she makes no further comment. There's more important matters. "That, too. I want miles to feel it, like something came from the depths of space and crashed into the earth. I want shockwaves to be felt in the mountains and for the seas to rattle."
  68.
  69. So, bigger. But size won't matter. "I've many ideas that utilize this. I need to test them all." Once more she departs to her workspace and moves scattered papers to reveal a familiar crystal. "What do you think happens if two rifts collide? When under immense pressure, also?" Matryona poses as she brings that crystal over to Bruno.
  70.
  71. "Disaster happens, likely. And if fueled by runes aligned with occult? Large yet also concentrated to better force this collision..."
  72.
  73. "What would happen?"
  74.
  75. One could argue that she's different but always did the woman have an eye for war and craving a path for Barsburg. Literally.
  76. (Matryona pyr Docro)
  77. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  78.
  79. [15:35] There were multiple things she could say in regards to the creation of a bomb, but honestly? It wasn't all that strange for the Empire to be creating weapons of mass destruction was it?
  80.
  81. She merely remained off to the side, quiet and observant of the goings on between the two.
  82. (Anastasia pyr Aertas)
  83. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  84.
  85. [15:38] Bruno looked at the familiar crystal. How ironic that Matryona sought destruction from it while his thoughts laid in using it for protection. He seemed to think about the idea at hand for a few more moments before he nodded.
  86.
  87. "I am not certain of what would happen if rifts intersected, though with how much of a mess this promises to be releasing energy from the void itself would most definitely harm the... bomb's surroundings. It may even create an area in which magic is completely impossible to be used. Judging from what happened to us when we traveled there it seems logical. It may also attract one of those beasts."
  88.
  89. Many possibilities. Many different results. Without proper study of the endless emptiness of the void nothing was certain but everything seemed to be heading towards a great deal of pain.
  90.
  91. "From my point of view the rune should be used to amplify the effects of those unnatural collisions rather than cause further destruction on its own. Using crystals in order to complete and empower the runes before sending them off with enough occult mana to ensure they would react to any change around them seems to be the most efficient way to go about it. All that would be required following such would be a proper mass— fuel for the effect to expand further and further.
  92.
  93. Do keep in mind that as the radius of destruction grows larger it requires exponentially more energy; razing a city using one of these is feasibly impossible without something on the magnitude of that... Spire that she spoke of, but it certainly could cause great damage."
  94. (Bruno pyr Aertas)
  95. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  96.
  97. [16:07] Magic being impossible to use? That's fine. It'd be in enemy territory after all. Perhaps that even better. Several miles of unusable land being the price? Wroth it.
  98.
  99. "Let it. If attracted then it's a bonus: Struggle for the Osronans and beasts for us to capture and utilize."
  100.
  101. She plans for absolute and total destruction of what stands in the way of the Empire. It's unlikely that the bomb will get too close to the city.
  102.
  103. And that's fine.
  104.
  105. Dropping it on an unexpecting Osronan village sent a clear message and picture to Esshar. "But I do agree that the collision could instead be amplified. Doing so would still have the same result either way." Would void spawns spew out as a result?
  106.
  107. "... As for razing a city, an entire city built of stone and fueled by magic? I don't think that's the goal, and we cannot get close." Discussion aside, she brought him here to work.
  108.
  109. "Help me complete this rune. I'll be speaking to Amelia later and constructing smaller tests and utilizing structures and materials to influence pressure." Constrict something powerful until it bursts. That's the idea here. But first steps, baby ones.
  110.
  111. "We'll complete this rune." Tailored towards destruction and amplified. Fueled by the void and occult.
  112. (Matryona pyr Docro)
  113. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  114.
  115. [16:13] "If your aim is Osrona then their church is likely the best place to strike. Provided you can get there."
  116.
  117. It was unlikely, yet, the idea of such a creation being detonated within the Osronan church was likely something that Matryona would appreciate with a bit of thought. For magic to be impossible in the very place where their primordials and their stars are worshipped? It would undoubtedly be a huge hit. Regardless, untold destruction in more vulnerable villages was still proper. It would send a clear message.
  118.
  119. With Amelia being mentionned Bruno soon came to realize how big of a project it was. For all the Aertas to work upon it? It was guaranteed to succeed. A small gesture is made towards his sister, inviting her to lead the way.
  120.
  121. "Tell me what you want me to do when you need me to do it."
  122.
  123. He could hardly work in such a chaotic environment. Any faux pas would cause destruction. He prefered if his sister navigated it for him.
  124. (Bruno pyr Aertas)
  125. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  126.
  127. [16:28] {Item} You picked up Void Crystal. Dropped by Matryona pyr Docro..
  128. [16:28] {Item} You drop Void Crystal.
  129. [16:29] "It's not possible for us to get close and place the bomb. The Church is inside of the city and heavily guarded."
  130.
  131. Not to mention much of the access to the eastern parts of the country are protected by Osronan troops. "I'm deciding where to use it."
  132.
  133. Matryona turned and began making way further into her workshop. "We've called it Achlys' Regards." With the mention of rifts, it's safe to assume Ryker is also on this project.
  134.
  135. "Let's begin then."
  136.
  137. She removes her gloves and clears space on the main table so she could place down the old rune. Potent still be sealed away- Likely due to its own incomplete nature. "My mana does not lean one way or another. It's not as refined as most but I've a large reservoir. Simple mana, even in abundance, will not work."
  138.
  139. With the gloves off could Bruno see those strange symbols that projected forth a map of leylines when in the Worldscape.
  140.
  141. "With your added mana and runes written, this can be guided how we want it to."
  142. (Matryona pyr Docro)
  143. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  144.
  145. [16:33] Bruno followed after his sister, taking note of the name given to the bomb and appreciating it for what it was. Nothing more. As he made his way into her messy workshop eyes scanned over her hands; the symbols which brought such a projection seemed to be a permanent mark upon Matryona's skin.
  146.
  147. How improper.
  148.
  149. While the man reminisced of a time when his sister was far colder and far more reserved he moved in to help with the project, his mana all too ready to be used for such an endeavor.
  150.
  151. "Have you drawn the rune somewhere yet?"
  152.
  153. He assumed she would have, at the very least, prepared for his arrival before asking for his help.
  154. (Bruno pyr Aertas)
  155. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  156.
  157. [16:53] Thanks to Soma did she have these strange markings on her hands. Blessing? Curse? No matter, she starts, "No."
  158.
  159. "My experience thus far has been in deciphering and siphoning. I had no confidence in my abilities to write a proper rune for destruction without someone with the proper knowledge to witness."
  160.
  161. Her methods, her brother's, and sister's all vary. They're different artificers after all. "I'm unsure what I want it to be made of," As she starts she speaks. The woman moved over to precure a sheet of fine Orichalcum for these purposes.
  162.
  163. The parchment places onto it. "Nyeshk is heavy and is difficult to melt. I believe that if contained, the explosion and collision wouldn't die out but simply expand and expand. I wonder if it should have a thicken layer of Nyeshk to build up pressure."
  164.
  165. She speaks aloud. No matter what, she'd consult Amelia on the materials used and how to further the construction of the shell itself. Matryona isn't an expert of warfare like this.
  166.
  167. Yet.
  168.
  169. Dainty hands hover over the rune- Mana takes to her palms with a light, warm glow. A stream goes forth with attempts of etching the already written runes onto the sheet of Orichalcum. This allows for the original to be safe and a more... prototype available without sitting down and etching in every runic symbol herself. Innovative- And a long, boring process of keeping her mana flowing at a constant, steady level.
  170.
  171. Finger tips lower to the sheet and just below the transferred runes. It centers with a particular symbol with various other runic sigils around it.
  172.
  173. Psi- Complimented by Delta and Lambda upon both backs of her hands.
  174.
  175. As she writes, the two sigils merely project out leylines for her to read- They don't seem very cohesive with the project at hand just yet.
  176.
  177. Physical structure is what that runic symbol deals with. Ethereal natures and the like. Guide and enhance- What she seeks cannot be perfect, ironically, without Bruno.
  178. (Matryona pyr Docro)
  179. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  180.
  181. [16:54] Matryona pyr Docro says, "I'm debating a core of Arcanium or Orichalcum- Or a shell, of some sorts, where this rune will lie and the rifts collide inside."
  182. [16:54] Matryona pyr Docro says, "Or around."
  183. [16:55] Matryona pyr Docro says, "Regardless, the rune will be fueled by either material."
  184. [16:55] Ryker had no fucking idea what was happening in the confines of his own bedroom.
  185. (Ryker pyr Docro)
  186. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  187.
  188. [17:00] Anastasia pyr Aertas whispers something.
  189. [17:00] Ryker pyr Docro whispers something.
  190. [17:00] Ryker pyr Docro whispers something.
  191. [17:00] Anastasia pyr Aertas whispers something.
  192. [17:00] Ryker pyr Docro whispers something.
  193. [17:01] Anastasia pyr Aertas whispers something.
  194. [17:02] Bruno observed as his sister drew the runes with a steady hand. The kind that even a chaotic environment and many mistakes — in Bruno's eyes — could never extinguish. Artificing talents and know-how were not so easily broken down. His own opinion came to life as his sister worked on a prototype for proper testing.
  195.
  196. "If it is building up pressure that you seek you could work with Amelia on a more... technical way of doing it. Nyeshk is resistant, yes, but it will collapse eventually. In theory Tyrium would make the bomb harder to detect while remaining unaffected by magic. Though it may dampen the effects of the pressure building up..."
  197.
  198. A subject that Amelia would certainly be far more suited to deal with. She had worked on a container for ADAM, after all, and had held Achlys' core at bay. She was the expert on the matter.
  199.
  200. Without having reviewed the ancient rune for too long Bruno could do naught but wait for Matryona's signal before releasing vile magic into it, powering it up in a manner that only an artificer wielding dark arts could. A manner in which only he had access to at this level of proficiency.
  201.
  202. "Tell me when you need me to act."
  203.
  204. It was easy to get lost when her leylines were projected; he hardly knew how they functionned and what they'd bring to the table.
  205. (Bruno pyr Aertas)
  206. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  207.
  208. [17:16] Matryona and Amelia spoke in length of material. She assisted with the creation of her Synthetics after all- At least in discussion in direction. It's her field of comfort as someone who couldn't quite bend that which isn't physical.
  209.
  210. "Tyrium would greatly dampen the effects. It's to be loud and seen and heard and felt by the masses for decades to come."
  211.
  212. She'll be sure Barsburg goes down in history for a level of destruction that scholars would research in the decades to come.
  213.
  214. Such headed by the artificer Matryona pyr Docro, sending Achlys is regards to his sister's followers. Name curtesy of Ryker.
  215.
  216. "The ground should quake, seas disturbed and stone rattling. I want to feel the shockwave at our gates."
  217.
  218. Likely impossible considering the distance beween Osrona and Achyon. Miles and miles, with trees, bridges, villages, rivers, people, life, animals.
  219.
  220. Everyone will feel it.
  221.
  222. This may be perhaps another singular instance where Matryona wishes to be seen and focused upon. "Ensure that they feel what we're capable of, Bruno. That the Empire is not a force to wildly reckon with. They'll be reduced to the people who dare to oppose us."
  223.
  224. Can one list the eradicated peoples and cultures that stood in the way of the Empire? It creates history and destroys it in the same turn.
  225.
  226. Her gaze shoots to her leyline projection as it focuses- It sought to map the vicinity but she forces it instead to alter. Mana exerts rapidly, draining out but never truly going empty quickly.
  227.
  228. The image shifts to what she tries to picture- The bomb, the area it's in. It's faint and flickers but still present.
  229.
  230. Can he see the turmoil for years to come by thousands? Killed, displaced, erased?
  231.
  232. "You can start."
  233.
  234. One finishing touch- Her finger tips lift from the very end. It hissed out with that heavily exerted mana. It only needs corruption.
  235. (Matryona pyr Docro)
  236. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  237.
  238. [17:28] You can start.
  239.
  240. These were the only words that were required from his sister for Bruno to let it out. To let it all out. His right hand reached out towards the drawn creation, palm facing it. A deep breath is drawn in as the man allows himself to live up to the full extent of his talents.
  241.
  242. It felt like bone-chilling winds were blowing upon them despite the lot of them being inside a room. The unseen breeze howled before the darkness of nightime as the Aertas allowed himself to fall into a truly maddening world. The insanity that had completely claimed its mind demonstrated itself in the most destructive and extreme manner it could. As vile mana slipped out from this fingertips the unseen winds grew in intensity, occult flames being let ablaze along his skin, threatening the safety of his sister. Crimson lightning jutted out in every direction, ricochetting around the room and striking whatever it pleased. His methods were undeniably selfish and showed just how gone he truly was. He was even worse than he had been in the Worldscape, and despite what anyone in this room may believe it was far, far worse than it looked in this instance.
  243.
  244. Amelia knew it best.
  245.
  246. Bruno's occult prowess was being discharged, used to fuel an object of absolute destruction as his own untamed manifestation of vile darkness was wreaking havoc about the room. Stacks of paper were tossed about. Bits of the rug underneath his feet began burning up. Matryona would definitely have to back away from her brother if she wanted to remain safe. His presence alone felt like there was nothing more worth living for, it inspired neither growth nor life, but cold and merciless death.
  247.
  248. Bruno's right hand began trembling, shaking as it clenched up a bit. Every bit of the mana his sister had provided to write the rune was tainted at this point, corrupted by a heart of darkness. Twitches came from his synthetic left hand as the hellstorm couldn't help but course along the length of this artificial limb, fueling its motions with a mind of its own. It rose, joining its counterpart in this delivery of horrifying, soul-rattling occult energies.
  249.
  250. The man had long been a danger to the world.
  251. Now he was a danger to even those he loved.
  252. (Bruno pyr Aertas)
  253. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  254.
  255. [18:06] Not long after did he begin working. Would it be a quiet process? Unlikely. There's nothing subtle about occultism. It's loud, dangerous, maddening.
  256.
  257. Upon feeling those winds that came from no where did she create some distance quickly. She encourages his occultism for the first time. He's a weapon after all. What better way to use it than creating another of mass destruction?
  258.
  259. When sparks fly did she raise her arm to shield her face. While not entirely worried for herself, seeing as her flesh had already hardened over with that thick, protective layer, but instead her brother.
  260.
  261. Havoc runs about her room as a price to pay for his occultic prowess and genius. Sparks hold no mercy nor care. They fuel the prototype runes and soon, when all does go well, they will repeat this with no boundaries for the true creation.
  262.
  263. For now she'll have to survive this. What will become thousands?Did she care?
  264.
  265. Narrowing sienna hues watch the process. She feels tugged at and more prodded at in ways beyond the occasional zap to her person from the hellish storm Bruno conjured in her workspace. "We're creating history."
  266.
  267. She doesn't try to ease him down at all but could he hear her through the hollowing winds and sparks? They keep coming and at a certain point, the woman winces as she feels rattled about...
  268. (Matryona pyr Docro)
  269. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  270.
  271. [18:14] The untold destruction kept on ramping up as time went. There was a limit to how much mana could be poured into a formula before it began spilling out. Without a proper container for his power to be focused and absorbed Bruno eventually reached that limit, occult forces merely washing over the saturated rune, rotting away at the wood which held this first prototype up. It even went as far as tainting the sheet of Orichalcum used to hold it in place.
  272.
  273. Overwhelming. It was the better word to qualify the kind of room-shaking display the man had presented before his sister. He breathed out, ceasing to spill out more mana than necessary.
  274.
  275. And yet, in the deepest parts of his heart he craved more. He craved to develop his own talents to the next step, to demonstrate the full extent of his capabilities. If he were able to... If he could reach that level in time to work on this project, then surely its destructive nature would be amplified even further.
  276.
  277. "I'll do better next time."
  278.
  279. The silence from him was broken with this conclusion. A promise that this mere prototype was far from the finished product he foresaw. A promise, selfish promise, that the might of the Aertas would spread even further. That he would live up to his sister's demands to...
  280.
  281. Master this vile magic.
  282. (Bruno pyr Aertas)
  283. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  284.
  285. [18:48] Overwhelmed entirely but standing her ground. At some point, she steps back just a bit as the sparks run rampant. The room shook, winds continue. It's as though he sought to tear it a part.
  286.
  287. But he holds control. Of all people to master and shackle occultism it's Bruno. The rune lights up and whirls to life, path complete with ethereal destruction. Later will she iron out the specifics of this rune to act as a key core component for this Regard. For now, it's fueled for the prototype at least.
  288.
  289. The golden sheet hissed whilst tainted, powerful mana seeped into the runic lines. Slowly, she lowered her arm. "I know for certain that you will." Upmost confidence in the Aertas name.
  290.
  291. In a way it's a legacy and a strange ode to their family and message to the homeland. Nothing but loyal and stalwart soldiers in this family.
  292.
  293. Matryona exhales lightly and makes her approach. Distancecloses and her bare, dainty hand rose to grip at Bruno's shoulder. Rarely did she even initiate contact. "I can barely contain myself." That hand gripped down at his shoulder. Can he feel a slight shake? Quickly did it remove as her focus shifts down to the golden sheet, runes etched on.
  294.
  295. "This will succeed."
  296. (Matryona pyr Docro)
  297. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  298.
  299. [18:53] The touch his sister brought had him tense up a bit. It was rare that she'd initiate contact and equally rare for him to be surprised by it. They were an odd bunch. And to think Amelia was even more reclusive. Bruno remained completely still as Matryona's hand lingered upon his shoulder, only able to speak after her touch was gone.
  300.
  301. "Perhaps shaping the container in order to leave our family's mark upon the ground it devastates is a proper addition."
  302.
