Reasoning:

* To raise in the ranks of the Proxima.

* Destroy anything that crosses with Proxima and its goals as it aligns with Oga’s.

* He'd want his swordsmanship to grow to the point where his soul could resonate with one of the swords, specifically Soul Edge.

* Given the recent events he failed to take part in he feels inadequate and frustrated at those who harmed his boss and ‘family’ within the cartel. Therefore, he seeks to gain power by any means necessary.

* To do better and not let his emotions deter him from his goal to 'reforge' himself.

* While subjecting himself through mental and spiritual meditation in order to temper his soul into something more flexible, with his boss (Honolulu Proxima)'s guidance on how to access, flow of his chi and spiritual energy in order to manifest his spiritual power.

* The apex of his want for power came with the brutal defeat from Cero (Lance Noroi). Not only was he defeated soundly, his weapon, the first thing he received from his boss, his pride and joy was shattered. Feeling like a sever bond was severed, he took what was left of the broken pieces, not caring what happened to his body back to the Cartel in order to seethe his want for power after his blade shattered.

Summary thus far:
Oga’s a loyal member of the Proxima Cartel and seeks to better himself as a swordsman for his boss’s goals given the amount of respect he shows towards them and the underboss. Recently he felt his skills waning. In addition, there was the potential feeling of inadequacy given his various defeats at the hands of rival gangs and other situations he wasn’t able to attend. And while through no fault of his own the seeds of doubt still plague his mind.

During the heist at the hospital, Oga stayed behind and wondered the city’s slums to gain some info, while there he was ambushed by someone going as “The Snake King”. Despite the disadvantages, Oga was able to survive a close encounter somehow squeezing out a win, but he wasn’t happy, it was far too close for his liking. Because of this set back he decided to train himself once again, through Honolulu Proxima's guidance this time around he attempted to make a breakthrough, or at least attempt at one.


Are they getting their enablement through some other method? Yes, the statue Honolulu bought that he regularly meditates around. But also some guidance from Honolulu themselves
