The only thing capable of drawing you from your deep sleep seemed to be the scent of breakfast. It sat thick in the air over the normal smells of cinnamon candles and ambient baking products. It took you a minute, the heavy feeling of sleep still infesting your mind and body.

Your back pops as you stretch. The blankets that were previously made are now strewn haphazardly around the ridiculously sized bed; You know it's gonna annoy the living hell out of him later but you'd make it up to him with your anniversary present. You had to admit you might've outdone yourself but you wanted the first to be memorable.

You move to sit on the edge of the bed, your feet falling heavy on the cold wood floor. Normally the blinds are still closed by now but they were left open, warm morning rays of sun spilling out into the room lighting it to be a deep warm orange. After rubbing the sleep from your eyes and walking into the kitchen your eyes are greeted by a stack of painfully thick pancakes sitting on the small kitchen table in your spot.

    "Guh-mernin'..." You mumble, your tongue seemingly fighting back with whatever words you were trying to say.

The sudden clatter of a metal spatula against cast iron serves to rip you completely from whatever sleep was still weighing heavy on your mind. It seems you were a bit stealthier than you meant to be as Ralsei lets loose a giggle under his breath, turning to face you.

    "You scared me!" He says, setting the spatula down next to the stove.

He turns the heat down on the burner and moves to you, wrapping his arms around your waist. You're a bit taller than him; not too much but definitely noticeable. You return the hug, squeezing him close with all the possible strength you can muster. Unfortunately this is still dwarfed by Ralsei's seemingly compacted strength. Short, fluffy, chubby and strong seemed to be his gimmick and it didn't take you long to pick up on it.

You ruffle his hair and, as calmly as you can, let him know that any harder and you might not be able to walk without the help of a motorized wheelchair.

He lets go and blushes, his thick white fur somehow doing nothing to stop his face from turning a stark red.

    "S-Sorry" He scratches the back of his neck nervously and adjusts his glasses, sliding them back up the bridge of his nose.

You can't help but smile with him and ruffle his hair, planting a kiss on his forehead.

 He giggles softly and looks up at you, "I made us breakfast! I tried something new and just put the blueberries straight into the batter."

He lifts the bowl from the counter and proudly shows you, indeed, he has just thrown maybe a few too many blueberries straight into the batter. He shakes the bowl a bit to mix the blueberries back into the batter and sets it back on the counter. Flipping a pancake out of the pan and onto a warm waiting stack of even more ludicrously thick pancakes. Now with Blueberries!

You leave him to his work, but not before planting another kiss on his forehead and causing his blush to intensify. It seems you weren't the only one with anniversary plans and he beat you to it.

Smiling at your gote who begins to flip and cook his own stack of pancakes, you sit down after pouring yourself a glass of milk and just take a moment to admire the breakfast monstrosity before you.

...okay, maybe you were overreacting a little bit, but this was seriously more than what you were used to eating for breakfast.

But it looked so appetizing nonetheless...

Damn this adorable gote. You swear he's doing this on purpose to get you to be a similar size to him.

As you chuckle silently to yourself, you begin to use a fork and knife to slice up your stack of fluffy, blueberry filled pancakes.

Already evenly doused in syrup and topped off with a small slice of rapidly melting butter, you set the knife down and use the fork to get a decent stack of the pancakes into your mouth.

And, while blueberry pancakes weren't necessarily your favorite kind of pancakes, this was far better than any other pancake you've ever had.

Not much to your surprise, since you know how much of a talented baker your fluffy boy is.

Ralsei sits down on the other side of the table and notices the look on your face as you go for another bite. He smiles as he begins to cut up his stack of pancakes as well.

"I assume that you like them, Anon?"

You nod happily, your face stuffed with blueberry pancake.

God it was so good.

Ralsei begins to happily eat his own pancakes as well, the two of you enjoying a comfy morning together.

You never were a morning person, but god damn if Ralsei wasn't trying his hardest to make you one.

Before you could go for another pancake stack, you notice Ralsei holding up his fork towards you, a cut up stack of pancakes on it and a soft little blush on his face.

You can't help but smile and chuckle a little at his heartmelting act, obliging him by leaning forward and eating the pancakes off his fork.

He giggles as you tug on the fork a bit, with you doing the same as he begins to eat for himself now.

It's the little moments like these that only strengthen your love for this adorable prince you've fallen for.

"So Anon, what do you have planned for today? I know you're not one to forget important date- ah!" He pauses as you hold your fork out for him, returning the favor as you feed your gote, smiling all the while.

"Once we're done, I'll show you. Promise." You say with a soft smile.

You hope Ralsei would be happy with your anniversary gift. Despite his excitement for the Light World, he always was more of a homebody, especially after a year here.

And that suits you just fine, since you were a homebody as well. Nothing really beats cuddling up on the couch watching movies and snacking together.

Even if you should probably help your gote become more active and keep one another healthy.

So the two of you continue eating in a peaceful, comfortable silence until you both finish up, having the heartiest of breakfasts in a while

You and Ralsei then begin to clean up the dishes, with Ralsei cutely humming to himself as he does, leaning his head against your arm and softly nuzzling.

You lean down and place a kiss in between his horns and he responds by wrapping his arms around you, hugging you tight but not too much so that you feel like you're being suffocated by his love.

After cleaning the dishes, you tell your lover to go to the living room while you go get your anniversary gift. He had an excited look in his eyes as he nods and makes his way to the living room.

You then walk over to the closet in the hallway, right next to the bathroom. Opening it up, you push a couple boxes aside, filled with some miscellaneous stuff that you nor Ralsei never bothered to unpack when you both moved in together.

Once those are out of the way, you see it.

A very big, fluffy blanket with a very special design on it, displaying a rising sun over a clear morning sky, at the bottom a clear green hill, with rosebushes on each side and trees over them. In the middle of the hill was a sown in black heart.

You smile brightly as you bring it down to your arms. This blanket here - based off a picture you took of Ralsei on his first days in the Light World, took several months, along with countless restarts, secretive nights in which you got out of bed to work on this and a decent amount of pinpricks on your hands. Ever since Ralsei showed you how to sew, you've been putting those skills to good use, honing in on them by focusing on this single blanket.

And now it was finally ready to be presented. Just in time too, since you were able to finish it two nights ago.

As you walk back to the living room, you see Ralsei looking around the stack of Blu-Rays underneath the TV stand, before looking back at you.

His eyes then widen and he gasps, "I-is that... did you...?"

You smile widely and unfold the blanket to completely show off the design on it, albeit it was kind of hard to do due to just how big and wide it was.

Regardless, Ralsei stepped ever so slowly towards it, reaching a paw out as he looked at your handmade blanket in awe, tracing his fingers over the horizon.

You then begin to wrap the blanket around your fluffy prince, making him twirl around in unison with it, fully embracing the entire thing.

It was quite humorous, as well as incredibly adorable to see Ralsei all wrapped up and comfy in your home made blanket that was about three times his size, (which says a lot but don't mention that to him)

Ralsei opens his mouth to try and speak, but instead he lets out a sound that can only be described as a happy sob as he reaches out and hugs you tightly, completely disregarding your earlier concerns at his strength this morning.

But you don't mind one bit. Because all you can focus on is Ralsei holding onto you as if you're the only other man alive. You make sure to hug him back as tightly as you can, planting a kiss on his cheek all the while.

"Y-you did this all by yourself, Anon...?" He asks, his voice muffled due to his face being buried in your chest.

"H-heh, yeah I did. It took me a while, but all thanks to you teaching me how to sew and all." You smile, nuzzling his soft fluffy white ear as he giggles and sniffles.

Ralsei loosens his grip around you as he relaxes, then you suddenly feel the blanket wrap around you, fitting the two of you comfortably as you pull Ralsei down onto the couch and hold him close, with him nuzzling into your chest.

You begin to realize that the blanket actually feels a little prickly... but looking down at Ralsei and seeing that happy, peaceful expression on his face washes away any feelings of doubt or concern for your sewing skills.

All that matters now is you, your gote and the day you two will spend together. Starting by watching a movie you both enjoy.

Well, if only the remote wasn't still on the coffee table.
