  1. >This can’t be happening! Not like this!
  2. >Your lungs burned as you hurried down the street. You haven’t stopped running for anything. The freezing rain pelts your face and hers.
  3. >An orange mare rests in your arms as you run through Ponyville trying to get to the hospital. Her blood was seeping into your shirt already.
  4. >A bright flash of lightning fills the sky followed by a crack and loud crashing.
  5. >Confusion and anger fill your being as you ran faster.
  6. >You could hear her moan as her head rests against your bosom.
  7. >You prayed and hope she would hold on long enough to make it. She just had to.
  8. >She was your responsibility. Your best friend.
  9. >Scootaloo can’t die! Not now!
  10.
  11. 6 Years Earlier...
  12. >You awoke to the sound of glass breaking. You tiredly open your eyes and rubbed the sleep out of them.
  13. The fuck...?
  14. >It was morning, but who the hell was breaking glass?
  15. >Putting on your house coat you hurried down the stairs and found one of the window panes in the living room shattered.
  16. >There on the floor was a baseball.
  17. >Rushing to the door with the ball in hand you open it to see three young fillies rushing off.
  18. HEY! Get back here! I know who you are!
  19. >The three come to a screeching halt; it was none other than AppleBloom, Sweetie Belle and Scootaloo.
  20. >Their heads hanging low and ears pressed flat against their head, they slowly walked towards the house. They were carrying baseball bats in their mouths.
  21. Well that explains it.
  22. >The one with the bowtie in her hair spoke first with tears in her eyes, “Ahm real sorry mister human. Please dun tell mah sister AppleJack...”
  23. >The little marshmallow pony insisted they were really sorry, and that orange Pegasus added, “We didn’t mean too. Honest. We’re just trying to get our cutie mark.”
  24. >Crouching down to their level, you held the ball to them.
  25. Try getting your cutie marks elsewhere and not near someone’s house, ok?
  26. >They seemed to perk up seeing at how calm you were, “We promise, mister human!” AppleBloom said with a smile.
  27. It’s Anon. Not human. I wouldn’t call you ponies.
  28. >Taking their ball they headed down the path with Scootaloo shouting, “Thanks Anon!” as they all disappear through the trees.
  29. >You are Anon.
  30. >It hasn’t even been a week since you found yourself in this world and already shit was breaking.
  31. >When you first arrived, the whole town was in a fuss. The ponies thought you were a diamond dog, others thought you were an alien and some thought you were a monkey.
  32. >Thankfully Twilight and her friends were able to take you in to see Celestia, but there was no clear way of sending you back home for the time being.
  33. >All the ponies asked you questions about where you came from. Doing your best to answer them, you allowed Twilight to catalogue certain aspects of your anatomy.
  34. >They were even nice enough to give you a house not too far away from where Fluttershy lived.
  35. >As you head back to the living room to clean up the broken glass there’s a knock at the door.
  36. >Right on schedule.
  37. >You open the door to see a pony wearing a business suit and a hat. It was Fluttershy. She was also wearing a moustache.
  38. >Beside her was a vacuum cleaner.
  39. >”Oh, sorry to disturb you but um... I represent the Equine Vacuum Company and I understand you have broken glass?”
  40. >Before you could speak she rushes past you and begins to vacuum up the small broken glass.
  41. >With a flick of her pink tail, she switches it off. “See? It gets right into the carpet and pulls out all those nasty sharp pieces.”
  42. >You open your mouth to speak, but she turns the machine on and places the hose on your house coat. “It has other uses too! Such as cleaning shirts.”
  43. >The suction on that vacuum was impressive as it rips the housecoat right off you and sucks it down the tube. You’re left standing there in your boxer shorts in front of Fluttershy, you blush brighter than a stop light.
  44. >”Oh... my!” she chirps. “Not to worry. It can also do other things...” She places the tip of the vacuum hose to your crotch.”
  45. >Nope.jpg
  46. >You seize the hose and snatch the vacuum away from her. Ripping open the compartment, you see your housecoat covered in dusted with glass shards embedded in the fabric.
  47. >A perfectly good housecoat ruined.
  48. >You slowly turn to Fluttershy with your eye twitching.
  49. >”I um... don’t suppose you want an extended warranty, sir?” she asks with a small giggle as her head lowers.
  50. >Turning the vacuum on, you suck up her moustache, hat and suit right off her body. Pressing the tip up against her back, the suction holds fast as you’re able to pick her up with it and walk her to the front door.
  51. >”So um... are vacuums your fetish, Anon?” she nervously smiles.
  52. No.
  53. >With that you toss her and the vacuum down the slanted path in front of your house and watch them tumble away into the bushes.
  54. Fucking Fluttershy....
  55. >You slam the door behind you.
  56. >That was the only problem living here. Fucking Fluttershy. She’s been the most interested in you ever since you showed up.
  57. >Her attempts were cute at first, but they became highly irritating right away.
  58. >It’s been routine at this point, and when you talked to Twilight about it she assured you that Fluttershy would stop if you didn’t show any interest.
  59. >You hope it was soon.
  60. >Seeing as how Fluttershy and the vacuum cleaned up the glass, all you had to do was patch the small broken frame with some cardboard and tape.
  61. >You’ll have to get a repair pony later.
  62. >As usual you found yourself starting the day off rather mundane, eating something followed by light exercise. Just as you’ve always been doing it.
  63. >Things weren’t so bad here to be honest. A lot better than back home in fact. Here, they really seem to take care of their own and they provided you with much hospitality.
  64. >Perhaps it was time to do some good for the community and give back.
  65. >Thinking about it as you cleaned up the kitchen, you remembered the three young fillies. AppleBloom’s sister AppleJack might let you do some work and help around the farm. You were able bodied and strong enough.
  66. >Maybe not apple bucking. And if that didn’t work out, you’re sure there are other things around Ponyville to do.
  67. >Just go to AJ’s first and you’ll probably find something there.
  68. >When you get to Apple Acres, you’re greeted by a big red pony, no doubt it was Big Mac.
  69. Hey, is your sister around?
  70. >”Eeyup.” Is all he said.
  71. >You waited a moment for him to tell you where she was, but he just stood there with that usual care-free look in his eyes.
  72. >Oh shit, he has two sisters.
  73. AppleJack I meant.
  74. >You chuckle nervously. He points over to the barn.
  75. >You found the orange mare in the barn and she seemed happy enough to see you. Explaining to her how you really appreciate the generosity that Celestia and everyone else has shown you would like to give back.
  76. >AJ and Granny Smith did an informal interview, but seeing as you had no references, credentials, or haven’t worked anywhere in Equestria before, they figured they could pay you under the table.
  77. >You would even take the apple cart down to Ponyville with AppleBloom and sell apples.
  78. >For now it would be the odd job around the farm, but you would be needed full-time during harvest season and Winter Wrap Up.
  79. >”I got a real good sense about ya, Anon. Y’all seem like a hard workin’ fella!” AJ commented with a pat on your back.
  80. Thank you so much. I’ll be ready when you need me.
  81. >On your way to Ponyville you saw the local school not too far. Maybe Miss. Cheerilee could use some help. You like working with kids, or in this case foals.
  82. >The young colts and fillies were outside for their lunch break; you head indoors to see Miss. Cheerilee at her desk eating.
  83. I’m sorry, did I come in at a bad time?
  84. >”Not at all Mr...?” she inquired.
  85. Anon.
  86. >”Mr. Anon, what can I do for you today?” she chirped.
  87. I was wondering if you needed help in the classroom or if I can tutor to young ones? I can be an extra set of hands and eyes.
  88. >She raises an eyebrow, “You like foals, Mr. Anon?”
  89. I would volunteer at my old school back home. This is something to keep me busy and help me learn about your education system.
  90. >You both talked a bit more, and Cheerilee agreed that you could come in on Mondays for a few hours if you can make it.
  91. >Thanking her enthusiastically, you talk off from the school and head to Ponyville.
  92. >You visited the others after that, Twilight asked you more questions about humans that you tried to answer her to the best of your knowledge.
  93. >Rarity was kind enough to make you a few extra pieces of clothes that closely matched the ones you wore when you got here.
  94. >When you got home, you occupied yourself with your sketching. Just a sketch book and a pencil was all you needed to pass the time.
  95. >Yep, everything seems to be going pretty great so far.
  96. >However, it was getting late, and a heavy raincloud was moving in quickly.
  97. >You forgot to do some grocery shopping! Shit!
  98. >Grabbing your light rain jacket, you hurried out the door and jogged towards Ponyville.
  99. >As soon as you arrived, the store was going to close in 20 minutes. You hated doing this, but you only needed a few things.
  100. >Grabbing some vegetables and few other items, you decided to make a soup that you remember your mom taught you to make.
  101. >With the paper bag of groceries in hand, you walk out the door to see the rain coming down hard.
  102. Shit...
  103. >Thankfully your light jacket also had a hood. You braced the cold rain and headed home.
  104. >On your way past the store you went down the alley behind it since it was a shortcut home.
  105. >The cold rain lightly spattered on your jacket, but it kept you dry enough. The paper grocery bag was starting to get soaked.
  106. >As you walked down the alley, there you noticed up ahead a large brown box and something that stuck out of it. Something purple.
  107. >At first you thought it was an old shirt, but you see it move. You stop and with a raised eyebrow, you slowly approach it.
  108. >Peering around the corner of the box, you see a tiny shivering mass of newspaper within. You could make out the colour of an orange coat and a purple coloured mane.
  109. >It’s Scootaloo.
  110. >Holy crap, you didn’t think she was actually homeless.
  111. >You try your best not to startle her.
  112. Uh... hey there. You’re AppleBloom’s friend, right?
  113. >Her little head pokes out from under the newspaper, her expression changed to that of being slightly annoyed. “Oh, it’s you. I was just trying to find something.”
  114. >This was somewhat adorable, but incredibly sad at the same time.
  115. >You could see her scooter was parked just behind the box, and inside her helmet was safe and dry.
  116. Do you... need help?
  117. >”I’m OK, I just got a little tired from searching, that’s all.” She insisted with a yawn.
  118. >Oh boy, how to handle this gently? Would telling her to come with you offend her?
  119. Oh, well would you uh... like to join me for supper?
  120. >Scootaloo looks at you with a certain yearning in her eyes, but you could tell she was afraid of something else, “It’s OK, really. I’ll be heading off home right away.” She puts her head back down.
  121. >Your heart sank at the sight. You just wanted to take her in for the night and straighten things out, but there may be another way.
  122. >Standing back up, you continued to walk home as the cold rain came down harder.
  123. >Once you got home, you quickly set about making the vegetable soup. Carrots, parsnips, onion, barley, potato, tomato, celery, vegetable stock and seasoning quickly came to a simmer in a large pot.
  124. >Packing a small blanket and putting some hot soup in a thermos, you set out back to find Scootaloo.
  125. >The rain was a light sprinkle by now, but it was getting late.
  126. >Approaching the box where she slept, you quietly placed the blanket over her small body. The thermos you set not too far away from her.
  127. >You just hope she would come around on her own accord.
  128. >Why go through all the trouble for this little one?
  129. >Perhaps pity, more likely you were sympathetic. But you had your reasons.
  130. >You fell asleep that night hoping she would be OK, or she would at least respond. You left a small note on the thermos letting her know where it was from.
  131. >That morning, you went to the door to retrieve the morning paper. There beside it was the thermos now empty. Picking it up, you could only hope she ate it and not throw it out.
  132. >Fluttershy comes out of fucking nowhere.
  133. GAH FUCKGoddammit!!
  134. >Your heart felt like it was going to jump out your fucking throat. You almost fell over from her sudden appearance.
  135. >She was hovering right above you, “Oh, I’m so sorry Anon.”
  136. What the hell, Fluttershy?!
  137. >”Is being scared your fetish, Anon?”
  138. >This fucking pony....
  139. No. And while we’re at it, you may as well quit while you’re ahead because I don’t have a fetish.
  140. >She floats gently to the ground, her head lowers. “I’m sorry Anon, it’s just that I want you to be comfortable.”
  141. Well you’re making me very very very uncomfortable. So knock it off.
  142. >She raises her head with a smile, “Don’t worry Anon. I won’t give up on my love for you. I’ll do whatever it takes to win your love!” she giggles.
  143. You’re not listening to me.....
  144. >She takes off to the sky and is out of view before you could address your grievances with her.
  145. >Well, at least Scootaloo was kind enough to bring back the thermos.
  146. >For the next few days this continued. You brought Scootaloo hot soup and some other food. She would bring them back in the morning.
  147. >By the end of the week, you were feeling more dishearten. You finally decided it was time for the next step.
  148. >This night, you would write a note for her. To let her know she was more than welcome to come and stay if she wished. You hope she would take you up on this offer.
  149. >Another rainy night. How droll.
  150. >As you got ready to bring her the goods you head for the door. There’s a knock.
  151. >You pause for a moment, but you open the door.
  152. >Standing there in the doorway was a tiny orange mare.
  153. Oh!
  154. >You were lost for words. But there she stood shivering, “Oh, hey there. I uh... just wanted to to say thanks.”
  155. >Almost dumbfounded, you manage to find the words to speak.
  156. Oh, you mean the soup.
  157. >”Yeah, I never go to say thanks. So uh... yeah...” she trails off. She turns around begins to walk down the front steps.
  158. Hey Scootaloo.
  159. >She stops and looks to you.
  160. You know, you’re free to stay here anytime you want. Maybe have some soup?
  161. >She shakes her head, “I wouldn’t want to be a bother. That’s all I’m good for.” That crushed your heart.
  162. >She starts to walk away again.
  163. Scootaloo...
  164. >Stepping into the rain, you slowly approach her and reach out to her with your hand.
  165. >She looks to you and your hand in confusion; even in the rain you could see tears building her eyes.
  166. >Scootaloo walks up to you and instantly jumps into your chest. You grab a hold on her and held her to your chest, her little face nuzzle into your chest.
  167. Let’s get you dried up.
  168. >Taking her back into your house, you gained more than a new friend that night, she was family now.
