  1. Ion looked at Astaria as it seemed she was going impatient though he sighed as if he was worried he was going to lose something he cant live without, though he layed down onto the table and sighed somemore allowing Astaria to not complain anymore, though Ion grabbed the chains and placed them on, though he took a deep breath as he tried to get mentally ready.
  2.
  3. "I wanna be alive after this. I still have to go meet someone."
  4. (Ion Nite)
  5.
  6. "That seems most likely" the undead neries nodded as she closed the chains around Ion's both wrists and over his ankles, sliding the medical tools aside and looking over to Aldrah.
  7.
  8. "This is for you, so the energy is yours to pour" she explained patiently to the aspiring necromancer. From there, she lifted her index and middle fingers together, with a thin blade made of a dark energy materializing from her fingertips, akin to a scalpel, though likely a lot more precise.
  9.
  10. "I'll cut him open, however. I'm a professional doctor and can do so safely- also, I'll take notes as you pour the energy and guide you through it, should you require such."
  11.
  12. Turning her gaze back to Ion, the woman approached the hand whose two fingers were extended with that dark blade. Despite its color, itdidn't seem to be occultism- it had a more soothing aspect to it, though with a rather menacing shape.
  13.
  14. "This may hurt, but do try not to move. I'm a trained surgeon, but if you move, I can end up slicing an artery, and that will be bad for you and me both."
  15. (Astaria Rosenkreuz)
  16.
  17. Ion wasn't really catching on to what was happening. Pouring energy?
  18.
  19. With the occultic blade in her fingertips, it seemed that Ion was going to be awake for this, though he tried to keep calm. Calm and collected was at least something he could do, though he didn't know for how long.
  20.
  21. The undead neries sure had a nice way to put ' You move you die'.
  22.
  23. Though with his best efforts, Ion tried not to move at all.
  24.
  25. "Try not to leave a scar.."
  26. (Ion Nite)
  27.
  28. Calmly Aldrah got to his feet, staring at the boy on the table. His expression remained the same, without change, always serene and uncaring what might happen to the boy.
  29.
  30. Slowly he pulled out his notebook from a satchel, placing it on the table, "No problem, I'll take notes." He approached Astaria and whispered in her ear, "If you want, I can freeze his mouth for him do not shout.." Aldrah smiled sideways.
  31.
  32. (Aldrah)
  33.
  34. On the bright side, the raw mana from her fingertips was able to cut through bone much more clean and swiftly than a scalpel or a saw. The negative aspect to it is that, well, bone was going to be cut through- her hand moved to Ion's chest as she let the blade pierce through his chestbone, carefully making her way down towards his waist. The blade would easy and cleanly cut through skin, fat and muscle alike, which would leave a rather nasty and deep cut over Ion's entire midsection.
  35.
  36. "Forceps" she spoke out to Aldrah, reaching her hand to get the tool, the blade over her fingertips dissipating as soon as she was done with the cut. Grabbing two sets of those, the undead neries approached it to pinch Ion's skin, on both sides, and keep them open, as to expose the man's still functioning organs.
  37.
  38. "Try not to look" she spoke with the same apathy, her gaze trailing over to Ion's eyes. "It may induce shock. Close your eyes, if you can."
  39.
  40. That was surely going to be excruciatingly painful, but she was very careful and, as mentioned, a trained surgeon. It wouldn't be lethal. Her gaze shifted towards Aldrah from there, as she took a step back and pulled a small set of parchments with a pen.
  41.
  42. "Aldrah, a rat uses an arbitrary scale of ten 'packs' of energy. That's what it takes to raise one. In comparison, a deer would require thirty- thrice as much. I've found in my experiments that fourty may not be enough for a human, eighty harms them but doesn't cause true structural damage, ninety causes structural damage and a hundred bursts an organ.
  43.
  44. Ion is smaller than my previous test subject, however. I'd advise.."
  45.
  46. She thinks it over, analyzing Ion momentarily.
  47.
  48. "Sixty, to start off. I'll note any apparent damage and symptons. Proceed slowly from there.. very slowly."
  49. (Astaria Rosenkreuz)
  50.
  51. Ion wasn't at all sure on what the point of measurements. Were they trying to kill him? The sudden remark of 100 parts of energy able to burst an organ, but the sudden scaple piecing his chest was painful in its own way.
  52.
  53. Flesh, bone, veins, and even skin were being cut away like melted butter to the tool, though Ion tried to keep himself partly calm, but the continuous cutting of his body made him slowly grunt, but he didn't move at all.
  54.
  55. The way the surgery was going, he wasn't sure if she was trying to teach him how to raise a dead person or how to fix a wound. The surgery was going all sorts of places for him.
  56.
  57. Ion didn't speak during it since it would throw off consentration as he wanted to live, plus Astaria literally had the means to cut him off right now.
  58. (Ion Nite)
  59.
  60. Slowly moving, Aldrah went toward the boy, who was stuck at the table and already with his exposed organs. Aldrah watched the organs for a few seconds, deciding which of these he would use for the procedure.
  61.
  62. Reaching out, where he had already decided which organ would be used, Aldrah placed his index finger of his right hand on the boy's stomach. This procedure would give a greater insight into how the organs act within the body, in a living person.
  63.
  64. The silver hues turned toward the boy's eyes, where with a smile on his face, Aldrah began to send the mana to the organ in a controlled and steady manner.
  65.
  66. "Let's see how the stomach reacts.." He spoke softly.
  67. (Aldrah)
  68.
  69. Rather than taking part actively on the experiment, the undead neries took a step back to give both Aldrah and Ion some space. She had already taken part of it, so her place here was to carefully observe and take notes- notes that she would use to compare to her own, considering the different statures of the subjects used.
  70.
  71. "Please do announce the amount of energy that you're using, Aldrah" she spoke while her faintly glowing eyes were set on the exposed organs. She was sure that channeling mana through somebody's organs like that could be more than just a little painful, but it did depend a lot on the amount of mana used-- it could range from being something extremely invasive to outright damaging.
  72.
  73. What they wanted was something inbetween those. They didn't want to damage the organs, but they didn't want it to be just a tickle, either- they needed enough energy to take a grip upon a soul, after all. A living test subject helped for them to understand the symptoms.
  74.
  75. "It helps with notes."
  76. (Astaria Rosenkreuz)
  77.
  78. Ion didn't want to open his eyes, with the man's finger slowly pressuring his stomach and pouring an unimaginable amount of mana into it. To Ion, the feeling was strange at first. It felt like a cold metal rod was placed on his stomach, but much colder, it startled him a bit.
  79.
  80. "What are you trying to do...don't freeze me...."
  81.
  82. Ion still had his eyes closed fearing on what he might see, though the sigh would likely put him in shock and have him faint as he doesn't like the sight of blood. Even more so for his own blood.
  83.
  84. "How long ehhhhh...is this going to last....I feel itchy..."
  85. (Ion Nite)
  86.
  87. "You say it just feels itch..?" Aldrah sighed, "Apparently, I'll have to increase the amount... Eighty should be enough." He smirked.
  88.
  89. Without much effort, Aldrah increased the amount of mana he sent to the boy's body, always in a controlled and constant manner.
  90.
  91. "Astaria, sorry for my lack of attention on not telling you the starting amount, but it was somewhere between sixty and seventy." Aldrah glanced at Astaria as he spoke, but then turned his attention back to the process.
  92. (Aldrah)
  93.
  94. "Itchy" she spoke slowly, blinking as she stared at the organs with slightly furrowed eyebrows. That's definitely not what she expected, considering the amount Aldrah said he was pouring-- perhaps there was another factor in play which she hadn't considered. Such was the life of scholars, always having to update their own previous conclusions.
  95.
  96. "You won't be frozen, so you can relax."
  97.
  98. Her eyes lowered at the parchment, where she had started taking notes- notably, describing Ion's physique as accurately as she could, specifying an approximate height and weight, while describing the effects of the constant mana flow from 'sixty to seventy' using her own arbitrary measuring of the mana flow- roughly six to seven times the necessary amount to revive a rat.
  99.
  100. Granted, this wasn't a sheer amount of mana- it was regarding the flow, meaning the amount of mana channeled per a set period of time. It was arbitrary, but it helped with measuring.
  101.
  102. "Try increasing ten everytime. I'll let you know of symptoms and structural damage as you raise it- we'll need to stop before any serious harm is done, since anything from there would be useless anyway."
  103. (Astaria Rosenkreuz)
  104.
  105. With the continuous flow of mana being push into Ion's stomach it seemed to have a slight affect on him now. With the itchy sensation, it slowly began to get worst as the itchiness turned from a mild feeling into a annoying one. The pain was still subseptable it was getting warm to Ion as if he had just eat a scorching piece of meat and didn't cool it.
  106.
  107. "Ehhhhhh…….ok what you doing n....n.nnow…….my stomach is hurting....its....b...burning...….n....n..g…"
  108.
  109. TO Aldrah, the constant flow of mana was slowly baking his stomach from the outside in as a bit of steam was coming out like they were slow roasting his body.
  110. (Ion Nite)
  111.
  112. Finally the organ began to react more than the last time, but it was not yet enough. Aldrah stopped, and began to jot down some things in his notebook.
  113.
  114. He noted the first attempt and as the boy described it, it was just an itch. Nothing very interesting.
  115.
  116. Already on the second, it seems to have some more effects, but not enough to give Aldrah much information, it just seemed to be burning the boy. Again, nothing very interesting.
  117.
  118. "Let's try again, but at ninety." He spoke as he placed his finger again on the boy's stomach.
  119.
  120. Before beginning to send the mana, Aldrah turned to Astaria, with a calm expression, without change and said, "The boy seems to have a greater resistance, so let's see how much he can handle." Then he began to send the mana in a controlled and constant manner.
  121. (Aldrah)
  122.
  123. "Pain" she spoke outloud while writing, her eyes occasionally glancing up from the parchment to Ion's exposed organs. Her eyes were slightly narrowed, but otherwise her neutral expression retained much of the apathy from before- determined, perhaps, like she was set on her path. Once started, she committed to it.
  124.
  125. Her hand moved quickly as to write down the symptoms experienced and the amount of mana being channeled. A small nod was given to Aldrah, perhaps as a 'go ahead' sort of thing, for him to proceed with the experiment, despite the painful feeling that was now visibly over Ion's body as the aspiring necromancer's mana ran over its organs.
  126.
  127. That surely must feel extremely invasive.
  128.
  129. "Check ninety, but don't increase from there. Too much risk of structural damage as it stands right now, I'm not sure what will happen if we go past ninety at this point."
  130.
  131. Stopping her notes briefly, the undead neries rose her eyes from the parchment to look at the exposed organs more intently- she wanted to check for actual damage now that the channeling of mana was increasing even more. Ninety was the precise point which she had arrived before as the 'final threshold', where structural damage to the organs would appear, if not overly serious ones.
  132. (Astaria Rosenkreuz)
  133.
  134. The sudden feeling of burning was just annoying to Ion. He has gone through days that had him feeling like hot sand was in his throat.
  135.
  136. Through it all, no day, no moment, no feeling could prepare him for what was going to happen.
  137.
  138. With the talk able going 90 parts in, Ion wouldn't have known about the idea.
  139.
  140. "Didn't you say that ninety would cause structural damage? What's going to happen."
  141.
  142. Ion was starting to panic now. The previous calmness was fading and as such the worst pain imaginable began.
  143.
  144. With Aldrah pouring even more mana into his body forcibly, Ion's stomach reacted violently. The channeling of mana into a foreign body made Ion's stomach unsure on how to react, but instead, it began to try to rewire itself, but with foreign mana being pumped into him, and his own mana fighting back, Ion's stomach was shorting out and in.
  145.
  146. The man's stomach was slowly shifting colors with the manapouring in. It turned from a modest pink to a hard dark rose. The color would slowly engulf the entireity of it before it shifted into a darker color almost like his stomach was cooking itself.
  147.
  148. To be honest, the changing of color was the light side of change as the man was now feeling even once of force being pushed in. His stomach was ripping itself apart, burning, bursting, flipping, and even boiling. It was all forms of torture rolled into one package and Ion was building up a scream.
  149.
  150. He tried to keep it down, but his body even reacted with it as the pain grew.
  151.
  152. The sudden scream sounded like he was being murdered with a knife straight into the gut, but it was slow, painful and worst off, the person who was causing it twisted the knife and continuously like they had a thrill.
  153.
  154. "AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH!!!! NNNG GNNGGGNNNNNNNGGG AAAHHHHH!!!…"
  155.
  156. Ion's body tried to throw a fit but the chains kept him down. His arms tried to break free by force, but it didn't allow him.
  157.
  158. " AAAAAAAHHHHHH!!! "
  159. (Ion Nite)
  160.
  161. Now, a real progress! A suitable reaction to Aldrah's expectations.
  162.
  163. He just looked at the boy, who was now screaming, he kept sending the mana to the boy's body, but when he saw that it was enough, he stopped. He removed his finger from the boy's stomach and wiped his finger on the boy's pants.
  164.
  165. Aldrah turned to Astaria, his face remained expressionless, only in a few moments he smiled, but generally it was to gain the trust of others, "I think this should suffice for now, I would like to continue, but I think you would not like it, right? " Aldrah looked at the boy who was still at the table, and then went to note the boy's reaction.
  166.
  167. At a rate of ninety, he has shown extreme pain, if I proceed, I can ruin the guinea pig. This guinea pig showed a good early resistance, but such resistance soon ended, given the increase in the amount of mana sent into the body of it.
  168.
  169. Aldrah put the note card in his satchel, "Anything else we can do?" Aldrah looked at Astaria, waiting to see what she would say. He wanted to continue the experiment, but she certainly did not like it.
  170. (Aldrah)
  171.
  172. There was no reaction of sympathy coming from the undead neries with the screaming man, her expression maintained with careful neutrality, detached apathy still. Rather, she wrote down the technical aspects of his reaction- the extreme pain, the structural damage done to the organs, and made sure to note that he was fighting back, which is something a corpse would not do. Such a thing would need to be taken into consideration.
  173.
  174. "Interesting" she pointed out as she placed the sheets of parchment within her gray mantle and reached for the needle, with the rest of the medical tools. "How he displayed remarkable strength, yet both him and my previous subject achieved their peak at ninety."
  175.
  176. Perhaps her initial conclusion was wrong- that height and built came into play. Perhaps the human body, when it comes to the internal organs, worked much in the same way.
  177.
  178. "There's nothing else productive that can be done. He's tired and damaged. I'll close him."
  179.
  180. She made an idle gesture for Aldrah to step aside before getting closer herself, to remove the forceps which kept Ion's organs exposed with the folds of skin wide open; with both of them removed, using needle and thread, the undead neries started stitching him. The stitches were done rapidly and professionally, as if she had done such a procedure a hundred times already, with rather big, though neatly made ones.
  181.
  182. "Don't squirm" she warned Ion, glancing at the man. "Wouldn't want to mess up your stitches."
  183.
  184. "I'll share notes with you at a later time, Aldrah."
  185. (Astaria Rosenkreuz)
  186.
  187. Aldrah nodded to Astaria, "Okay, as soon as you can, give me whatever notes you have, it'll help for the next experiments." Aldrah started to head towards the stairs, "If you're up for it, we can do more experiments like this, I'd like to use someone from Huang or Gehenna next time, I have an anti-magic necklace, I want to use it, and we can do tests above ninety without problems." Aldrah smirked and went on his way.
  188. (Aldrah)
