- Over Energy Primer
- ==================
- 1. Acquire Over Energy Chips randomly through Overdive and/or Overdive Kills.
- 2. To use an OE Chip, go to a Mission Terminal and choose Over Energy Settings, then Over Energy Install.
- 3. Choose a Chip and use the D-Pad to place it somewhere on the Board. Press X to Set it, then press X again to Add it to your Board. To cancel, press O. To see a list of OE and their effects on a Chip, press △; this can also be done in the main Over Energy Settings menu.
- 4. To level up or synthesize OE, after you Set an OE Chip as the previous step indicates, press □ to refresh until the desired result is achieved. This step is optional, but highly encouraged.
- - OE can level up or level down upon refreshing.
- - While refreshing, OE can mutate, turn malignant, or gain a detrimental "limiter" that prevents it from achieving as high of a level as it should.
- - OE have soft level caps that expand as Aya levels up. Each soft cap is roughly 1/4 of Aya's current level.
- - The maximum level for an OE is 25, but that likely won't be achieved until New Game+ on harder difficulties as Aya approaches LV 99.
- - Following this section is a list of valid OE synthesis combinations. To synthesize the OE you want, first Add half of the valid synthesis combination. Next, Set the other half. Now you must simply refresh until it mutates properly.
- 5. If two or more of the exact same OE are Added next to each other, they can "Link" to artificially increase their level. For example, a LV 3 Healing Linked to a LV 4 Healing will result in a combined LV 7 Healing. A Link is made apparent by a line of energy connecting the linked OE.
- Boost Fire LV 1 - empty - empty

- empty - Healing LV 3 - Healing LV 4 ← Totals to LV 7 Healing.
- However, if two or more of the exact same OE are placed in nonadjacent slots on a DNA Board, they will not Link and the higher level OE will take precedence. Using the prior example, Aya will only receive LV 4 Healing, and the LV 3 Healing will be rendered dormant as "Dead DNA." This does not produce a harmful effect, but it does waste a slot on your Board that could be devoted to another OE.
- ↓ Currently Dead DNA, essentially a wasted slot.

- Slots with Dead DNA should be "resurrected" by replacing the Dead DNA with another OE, or Linking it to another of its kind. Dead DNA is not to be confused with Malignant DNA (red), which produces detrimental effects.
- 6. After the OE Chip has been Added, it will be in effect. There is no need to select "Equip" afterward unless you are changing between different DNA Boards.

- Additional OE Notes
- ===================
- - Red OE are malignant and will give debuffs until removed.
- - Passive-type OE require no activation.
- - Proc-type OE will activate randomly after a condition has been met.
- - Active-type OE requires some form of player input. There is only one active-type OE.
- - Passive-type OE cannot be activated at the same time as a Proc-type OE. For example, while Haste is activated, Kill Boost is shut off; when Antibody is activated, Energy Defense is shut off.
- - Only one Proc-type OE can be active at a time.
- - If Energy Shot is in use on a DNA Board, Barrier and Regeneration will be temporarily shut off once a single shot is fired. However, this ONLY applies while in Liberation. It's more desirable for Barrier to activate while not in Liberation, so there is no practical conflict to using Barrier and Energy Shot on the same Board. (Regeneration is a different story, as it means the player can never regen LIFE and have increased Liberation damage at the same time.)
