  1. (10:35:21 PM) ***Aelitethe sighs.
  2. (10:37:32 PM) ***Aelitethe wonders if she's hearing things now.
  3. (10:41:07 PM) Ulyssa: Clearly the thoughts in Ulyssa's head screamed out. Definitely not saying anything though. Just wishing everything could be simpler.
  4. (10:42:12 PM) ***Artemis-XE glances in Aelitethe's direction. "Is something the matter?"
  5. (10:43:28 PM) Aelitethe: "I thought I heard something..."
  6. (10:44:08 PM) ***Artemis-XE starts listening for anything out of the ordinary.
  7. (10:44:42 PM) Aelitethe: "No, no, I meant... I thought I heard someone say something."
  8. (10:45:15 PM) DEATH-INCARNATE: The clerics mutters weren't exactly difficult to make out. Given that he's standing right next to you.
  9. (10:45:45 PM) Aelitethe: "Did you mention something about... Taking down an orc warrior all by yourself?"
  10. (10:46:04 PM) Artemis-XE: "Oh right. He did say something like that."
  11. (10:47:03 PM) DEATH-INCARNATE: "O-oh, um... Did you hear that? W-well, it's just... Um... I don't want to sound like I mistrust, b-but... Um..." He hasn't suddenly stopped being jittery. "I'm just, uh... Remembering some praise that Father Haisen gave me when he recommended I come here..."

  13. (10:47:44 PM) Aelitethe: "..."
  14. (10:48:32 PM) DEATH-INCARNATE: "W-well, he'd said that I had tremendous skill and underestimated myself... He seemed to think that I really could handle being assigned here alone... And father- er, I mean, the high priest must have agreed, since he sent me here..."
  15. (10:49:26 PM) ***Aelitethe raises an eyebrow.
  16. (10:49:46 PM) Aelitethe: "Prove it?"
  17. (10:50:13 PM) DEATH-INCARNATE: "P-prove? Are you asking me for a duel...?"
  18. (10:50:30 PM) Aelitethe: "No. I am just wondering maybe they wanted you to prove it."
  19. (10:50:36 PM) Aelitethe: "That's why they sent you all alone."
  20. (10:50:39 PM) Ulyssa: Aaaaaaaaaaaa. She HAS the resolve to not say anything like...you know...like that...here...but it's at the cost of looking like you would really like to do otherwise. She can't even cover how uncomfortable she is about the situation right now, but she can definitely not say anything about it!
  21. (10:51:17 PM) Artemis-XE: "That's got to be it. He must think very highly of you if you were sent here alone."
  22. (10:52:39 PM) ***Aelitethe nods.
  23. (10:53:00 PM) ***Kineth nods. "That would make a lot of sense, actually."
  24. (10:53:16 PM) DEATH-INCARNATE: "O-oh... M-maybe... Perhaps they did want to show me... But... I could barely do anything against those undead once my spells run out..." He stops himself. "Yes, right, of course. I have to trust their judgment... I'm sure they wouldn't have sent me if they didn't trust me capable..." He shakes his head.
  25. (10:53:16 PM) DEATH-INCARNATE: "O-oh, pardon me... If you don't mind, I think I could use some fresh air. Now that those things are gone... Er, so long as you don't need anything...?"
  26. (10:54:49 PM) Ulyssa: "S-s-should be f-fine!" It takes effort.
  27. (10:55:46 PM) ***Kineth nods.
  28. (10:55:52 PM) Artemis-XE: "We'll call you if we need anything. Take your time."
  29. (10:55:57 PM) Aelitethe: "Take care!"
  30. (10:57:40 PM) DEATH-INCARNATE: "A-alright..." He walks past the group, and out the door. ...He's still muttering to himself as he leaves, though you can't hear what he's saying. He looks amazingly... Not reassured, despite everything. Oh well.
  31. (10:58:35 PM) ***Aelitethe sighs and retreats back into a seat
  32. (10:59:51 PM) Ulyssa: His absence gives her less of a reason to not say things. It also somewhat clears her shaking, which she had started just after talking. Worried still? Absolutely.
  33. (11:01:14 PM) Aelitethe: "That man is suspicious."
  34. (11:02:00 PM) Ulyssa: "......N-no. I think he's not suspcious at all. The opposite of suspicious, even."
  35. (11:02:43 PM) Aelitethe: "What do you think? o.o"
  36. (11:02:44 PM) Artemis-XE: "This whole thing reeks of suspicio

  38. (11:03:17 PM) Kineth: "But not on his part."
  39. (11:03:40 PM) Kineth: "Moreso that of the people that sent him here all by himself."

  41. (11:04:24 PM) Artemis-XE: "Who would send a cleric. A cleric BY HIMSELF, mind you. To defend an entire church?"
  42. (11:04:53 PM) Artemis-XE: "Its just... it's too crazy."
  43. (11:05:18 PM) Aelitethe: "The Church as a whole can't possibly be understaffed... It's kind of weird why they would send a person on their lonesome period."
  44. (11:06:04 PM) Ulyssa: "...Kineth is right. ...And...well..." ... "...who would send a band of inexperienced adventurerers to attack the source of these problems?"
  45. (11:06:53 PM) Artemis-XE left the room (quit: Read error: Connection reset by peer).

  49. (11:08:08 PM) Ulyssa: "...I'm pretty sure we know who would. ...And...I'm pretty sure they...know why, and how they think it would end."

  51. (11:08:59 PM) Artemis-XE: "So you think he was set up?"
  52. (11:09:17 PM) Ulyssa: "...yyyeah. ...Us too."
  53. (11:09:39 PM) Kineth: "Mm... Wouldn't doubt it."
  54. (11:10:49 PM) Artemis-XE: "...Well, we'll certainly have to be on our guard. I get what you're saying. But we won't be totally sure of that unless we do some investigating on the matter."
  55. (11:10:50 PM) DEATH-INCARNATE: ...Artemis, you remember the name Haisen, which the young priest mentioned. You've met the man a number of times in fact. He always seemed quite warm, very interested in what any of the recruits had to say... He's trusted by the high priest as far as you're aware, and has a large say on the deployment of both paladins and clerics.

  57. (11:12:25 PM) Ulyssa: "Well, I'm pretty sure they don't expect us to come back at all." Nod nod. "We're going to have to be on our guard, and turn back if things get too dangerous, which is what they're counting on and the very reason we were sent here."
  58. (11:12:37 PM) Artemis-XE: "...Well, the cleric did mention Father Haisen a number of times. I've spoken to him myself. In fact, he's the one who gave me.. well, us the assignment of coming here."
  59. (11:13:22 PM) ***Aelitethe raises an eyebrow.
  60. (11:13:33 PM) Artemis-XE: "He doesn't seem like the type to knowingly send followers of the church off to their doom like that."
  61. (11:13:48 PM) Ulyssa: "...Though the fact that the issue exists is a threat, we could take the assignment, knowing where it might lead us, to stop the whole rampaging undead thing...or we could...not."
  62. (11:14:12 PM) Ulyssa: "...And I didn't think the church was the type to commit..." Let's leave that last word unsaid.
  63. (11:15:17 PM) Artemis-XE: "Well, we've already come this far. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't suspicious about the whole thing, all things considered."
  64. (11:16:02 PM) Artemis-XE: "But it's not like we can just drop the matter, concerning the undead. Think of what could happen if they were to spread further."
  65. (11:17:21 PM) Ulyssa: Nod. "...Really, it's the only reason I considered sticking to it. If it weren't bad, there'd be no reason to press on! It's just that since they don't expect us to come out of it, we're going to have to be more than careful here. ...And then careful on the way back, if we actually go back."
  66. (11:17:47 PM) ***Aelitethe sighs.
  67. (11:17:52 PM) Aelitethe: "We have no choice."
  68. (11:18:27 PM) Kineth: "That... sounds about right, unfortunately."
  69. (11:19:34 PM) Artemis-XE: "Honestly, I'm beginning to regret putting you all through this. But you're right. We have to deal with it."
  70. (11:21:52 PM) Ulyssa: "...Does anyone want to break the news to the cleric? Since he was sent here in the first place, he might understand..."
  71. (11:22:24 PM) Kineth: "I'm doubting that'd be much of a good idea."
  72. (11:22:30 PM) Aelitethe: "...He might break."
  73. (11:23:02 PM) Artemis-XE: "Nah, best not to rattle the guy any further. He's been through enough.."
  74. (11:23:31 PM) Ulyssa: "...Well, we better do a good job of clearing the undead then!"
  75. (11:24:25 PM) Artemis-XE: "Indeed. Let's put forth our best efforts."
  76. (11:25:14 PM) Kineth: "Agreed. We've got much work left to do."
  77. (11:25:30 PM) ***Aelitethe yawns.
  78. (11:25:38 PM) Aelitethe: "So tired..."
  79. (11:25:47 PM) Aelitethe: Aelitethe has blood-shot eyes at this point.
  80. (11:26:19 PM) Artemis-XE: "Go ahead, get some rest. You look like you really need it."
  81. (11:27:50 PM) ***Kineth nods.
  82. (11:28:14 PM) ***Aelitethe promptly falls asleep, but not without comically falling off her seat and to the ground. "ZZZZZZZZZZ"
  83. (11:29:57 PM) Ulyssa: Sup Zei--erm. Ulyssa rushes to put Aelitethe back on the seat and not, you know, on some hard unforgiving floor.
