  14. \paragraph{}
  15. In Washington Irving's The Legend of Sleepy Hollow, there are several possible romantic heroes: Ichabod Crane, Brom Bones, and Katrina Van Tassel. Ichabod is a youthful man who distrusted marriage, and had a firm belief in the supernatural. Brom Bones is a strong and mischievous man. Katrina Van Tassel, on the other hand, is a beautiful young woman. However, Ichabod Crane is the romantic hero in this book.

  17. Ichabod is quite a man of many youthful qualities. Ichabod is even a companion of some of the older boys(Irving 7). Not only that, "...would convoy some of the smaller ones home, who happened to have pretty sisters..."(Iriving 7), as many infatuated young men would take interest in. Ichabod was also a mischievous young fellow, "Ichabod, therefore, made his advances in a quiet and gently insinuating manner."(Irving 22). Ichabod could be called quite a ladies' man.
