What being a changeling means to me

[25/02/2014 2:30:40 AM] Zephyr: it means a Hive, a massive community that's more like a family, where all inside love one another and are loved in turn, simply because they are, and a place where they can all be safe and not need to worry and where they can be accepted and where they can belong.  A Queen, to take care of them all, drones to be themselves and to help each other and the Hive and the Queen, breeders to produce eggs as needed, to help expand the Hive or to simply maintain numbers, as death is a given, as painful as it may be, honeyworms to provide honey, a sweet substance valued by all within the Hive, and by ponies outside it as well, thus even benefitting those that are not part of the Hive, builders and constructors to maintain and add to the Hive as needed, Princesses to aid the Queen in her duties when she is ill or exhausted, and to take her place when the time comes, or in some cases, to form a new Hive if so desired, caretakers to watch over the eggs and young to ensure their health and safety, guards for in case of threat to the Hive and to aid visiting ponies in safely exploring the Hive, as well as any other positions added as needed, and the Hivemind, a way for all to stay connected and in touch, so that despite the numbers and size of the Hive and its inhabitants, none are ever left alone when they need another to be with
