  1. Adrian leads the group into a mostly empty room.
  2.
  3. A few boxes can be observed here and there, but there was nothing so noteworthy that it would catch the eye. Adrian opened his mouth, ready to tell everyone to get into the proper positions. Apparently he didn't need to.
  4.
  5. He presented Acha and Dirk with a firm nod, taking a few steps forwards.
  6.
  7. "Here is what I have in mind, Aesperus." He took a deep breath.
  8.
  9. "I am going to construct a runic ritual around you. Acha is going to siphon his blood into my hands as I carve the runes. Dirk is going to empower the secondary symbols with water magic."
  10.
  11. Adrian folds one hand in front of the other. Mana erupts from his fingers and begins to flow at a successive pace.
  12.
  13. "The runes will be written in a specific scripture, one that draws influence and power from the holy arts. This, in addition to the presence of Sarridian blood and water magic should be enough to empower the desired functions I have in mind."
  14.
  15. The scholar frowns slightly, furrowing his brows a bit.
  16.
  17. "This process, Aesperus.. it is going to be very uncomfortable. Once the runes are properly empowered you will have little time to react. They will seep into the center of the circle and cover your entire body. Their purpose is simple: exorcise the occultic contagion, flush out the bacteria."
  18. (Adrian Montbell)
  19.
  20. Aesperus Entreri asks, "Alright... Alright. Should I have my clothes off for this?"
  21.
  22. Acha Idared says, "Please do not."
  23.
  24. The woman didn't bother waiting for an answer. She'd simply strip, being left in a simple bra and panties. They'd notice something about her body, the green was outlining every vein. Especially around the heart, that's where it was the strongest.
  25.
  26. The woman's eyebrows furrowed and she'd throw her gear to the corner, waiting on the men to act.
  27.
  28. "Let's hurry this up. I'd rather get it done now than wait."
  29. (Aesperus Entreri)
  30.
  31. Aesperus Entreri says, "Fuck you Acha I do what I want."
  32.
  33. Dirk Lyonson says, "Damn it."
  34.
  35. Aesperus Entreri says, "Plus I don't want my gear getting messed up."
  36.
  37. Acha closes his eyes.
  38. (Acha Idared)
  39.
  40. Adrian nods. The scholar takes a step forwards, folding his hands on top of one another. The mana oozing out of his palms clings to him, encircling his fingers and wrist in beautiful symmetric arcs.
  41.
  42. He waited for Acha to siphon his blood into the arcanic energies gathering around him before continuing. Should the process go smoothly, he'd waste no time in carving the runes.
  43.
  44. The scholar closes his eyes. Before long, the runic array begins to carve itself around Aesperus. In by utilizing cognitive magic to replicate the formula exactly as he designed it, he eliminated the prospect of human error that came with manual carving.
  45.
  46. A beautifully crafted runic circle appeared around her. Intricate and ornate designs coupled with regal-esque symbols did well to illustrate the power of the intended functions. A white light with a golden tint began to exude from the masterfully arranged symbols, indicative of the holy magic the ritual was drawing upon.
  47.
  48. "Now, Dirk."
  49.
  50. He offered a nod to the storm magi, waiting for him to imbue the necessary components of the ritual with his water magic.
  51. (Adrian Montbell)
  52.
  53. And with that, the storm mage got to work. He took a step forward, flexing his fingers for a moment as he took a good look at the runic circle. Furrowing his brow, he started pouring forth mana into the circle, focused on the outer layer. Blue light started emanating from certain symbols, mixing with the white.
  54.
  55. After a little while, the flow of mana seemed to level out as he turned his head towards Adrian.
  56.
  57. "Done."
  58. (Dirk Lyonson)
  59.
  60. With eye mostly closed and trying not to loko at Aesperus, the Sarradian holds theirhands out all the same. A tight squeeze is given to their staff as their magics begin to activate.
  61.
  62. ... Then a dagger is brought out from the folds of their coat and a few incisions are made on their hands. This would be difficult; never before had Acha given this much blood.
  63.
  64. Like a clear water, the blood flows from his hands; drawn out in large threads that seem to grow as more is funneled out.
  65.
  66. ... It would take at least thirty seconds despite his proficiency with the art for enough to be funneled into Adrian's own arcane energies. Far more than he had ever expended, even in battle; the alchemist feels woozy. Without the use of a Rejuvenation potion..
  67.
  68. Ah, this could be bad for him. But just enough is given to Adrian as Acha slowly begins to move towards the back of the wall; the consistency is similar enough to water that he should be able to control it.
  69. (Acha Idared)
  70.
  71. Once all the required components were added into the mix, the scholar issued the directive.
  72.
  73. The runes began to glow violently. Pillars of gold tinted light danced in unison with the various shades of blue. The array began to rotate at breakneck speeds, Adrian siphoning a great deal of his own magical reserves in order to ensure the functions would be delivered flawlessly.
  74.
  75. It all happened in the blink of an eye. Far too fast for any in the room to perceive.
  76.
  77. There was a pitched screeching noise as the runic symbols rearranged themselves, bleeding through the inside circumference of the array and cascading up Aesperus at breakneck speeds.
  78.
  79. The sigils clung to her body.
  80.
  81. Normally, something like this wouldn't hurt at all. To a normal person, a holywater and Sarridian blood cocktail might have even felt pleasant.
  82.
  83. But to the occultict parasite inside of the woman?
  84.
  85. It was excruciating.
  86. (Adrian Montbell)
  87.
  88. All of this was interesting, the woman's eyes glistened with a certain curiousity as all of this happened. Her eyes wouldn't be able to follow the runes, but she'd be able to guess what was happening.
  89.
  90. As the screech happened, the woman would wince a little. Then... Everything felt odd. That only felt like that for a second though. The woman was soon wracked with pain.
  91.
  92. It felt like everything was burning. The woman would tense up, the feeling of her veins burning was something that she'd never even imagined.
  93.
  94. There'd be yells and screams of pain from the older woman, her body tensing, her teeth grating. Anything to try and get her mind off the pain.
  95.
  96. Though the process was excruciating, there was this strange sense of cleanliness that came with it. From the outside in, it'd look like the green from her veins was going away.
  97.
  98. In fact, all of it went away, the only indicator that she had such a deathly infection was thatshe was still pale. After the process was finished, she was left on her hands and knees, breathing deeply.
  99.
  100. There was no longer the urge, there was no longer any feeling of needing to constantly throw up. It was all gone.
  101.
  102. "Oh... What was I thinking by trying to weaponize that shit..."
  103.
  104. Seems as if she WAS talking under the influence after all.
  105. (Aesperus Entreri)
