Flash Animation Vs. Hand Drawn Animation

You know something? I love cartoons I cannot stress how much I love cartoons. Nor can I hide it. I adore animation and anime. I just, I just love it. I grew up watching cartoons, my father grew up watching cartoons, you know, and a lot of people I know stopped watching cartoons when they hit a certain age but I'll watch cartoons of the day I die. That's just me. I love cartoons I love imagination and okay. But, there's something I've noticed in cartoons, well not all cartoons, I'm only going to talk about two cartoons in particular, but what I've noticed is different types of animation, and what I'm seeing a lot now is flash animation. You're probably asking yourself well why are you talking about this y- nuh nuh nuh nuh nuh you know whatever, or what made me want to talk about this.

Well, recently I just seen the new show that's on cartoon network called tom and jerry show and I think the show is pretty spectacular. You see guys, the reason why I think this cartoon is spectacular is because it's trying its best to replicate the older tom and jerry cartoon series, and I personally think by far does a good job. Each episode of the Tom and Jerry show has a different scenario, just like the original tom and jerry, and I really adore that. I like the music, they're bringing back all the original characters, I think it's awesome. Now, what does this have to do with flash animation? Well as you can see the show is made in flash animation, and, the animation, for the most part, is good, but when I see like what you see right now, I kind of think it's lacking. Like ezuuhh I don't know, maybe it's just me, but I personally think it's just lacking in some departments. But for the most part it's, it's good. I'm not saying tom and jerry show is horrible, none whatsoever, I personally recommend you should check it out.

I've seen a lot of reviews of the Tom and Jerry show and so far people think it's pretty damn great and I think it's pretty great too, but what does this have to do with the whole flash animation thing I was talking about a little earlier? Well, there was another tom and jerry cartoon... That a lot of people I believe missed out on... That r- tried its absolute hardest to replicate the style of the older tom & jerry cartoons... And it's really good. You're probably thinking to yourself well what the hell are you talking about this- this- I haven't heard of this. Um, this show is called Tom and Jerry tales. Now this, ladies and gentlemen, is what you call a true cartoon. Hand-drawn animations. This is what I'm talking about baby, not like I said about the Tom and Jerry show, the flash animation sometimes is lacking, but look here, look how detailed and fluid the animations are. This is incredible. Me personally, I think this beats the ever-loving shit out of Tom and Jerry show. I'm not saying that it sucks but just look at this cartoon! This is an underrated cartoon and it's really good. I recommend you guys check Tom and Jerry tales out.

Let me give you guys another example. Let's say the newer episodes of Johnny Test. Now as you can see, it's made in flash animation. Pay attention to their movements. It's, once again, for the most part, okay, but there are times when the flash animation is down right god-awful. I'm sorry, and I don't even know what the hell happened to the new Johnny Test. Now I keep saying new Johnny Test, but I'll show you why I keep saying new Johnny Test in a second. But still, I don't know what the hell happened to this cartoon. They keep using the same sound effects, it's generic, it's, it's, it's an ugly cartoon to me. And I'm sorry to you Johnny Test fans, but, I'll show you why I feel like this. Now once again, this is in flash animation. But THIS is HAND-DRAWN animations. Look at their movements, look at how fluid, they're a little more alive than flash animation, I am not saying that flash animation sucks, if it's done right it could be incredible. But, compare it to hand-drawn animations, it's even better. THESE are the older episodes of Johnny Test, like I said, OLD Johnny Test. This was Johnny Test when it was awesome, they didn't use the same ass stupid whip sound effects every 20 seconds or 10 seconds, they didn't have generic ass movements and this that and the third, this is Johnny Test, this is once again a cartoon, a better cartoon.

Now these are the only two cartoons I am going to use for now, but do you see what I'm talking about? If you paid attention to the movements of the characters, then you were obviously if you have sense or brain, you can obviously tell that the hand-drawn animations were so much better.
