- [12:06:25 AM] Rithzarian: working title is somewhere along the lines of Defrag, Foreverbook, Cybersoul
- [12:06:59 AM] Rithzarian: basic setting: the typical future, everything is slathered with a healthy dose of technology covering everyday life
- [12:07:34 AM] Rithzarian: an overpopulated world where people have become just a number, so to speak, so like your SSI, worldwide you get a number at birth
- [12:08:04 AM] Rithzarian: this is you, more you than your name. In fact, because of the tech dependency and global population involved, these numbers are required to access the net
- [12:08:17 AM] Rithzarian: so many profiles, so much data that... it just can't be kept
- [12:08:25 AM] Rithzarian: so when you die, your number gets reused
- [12:08:41 AM] Rithzarian: life is so tech bound, that people have developed a cyber-soul of sorts
- [12:09:00 AM] Rithzarian: once they pass, well, someone has to go clean the system out and exorcise the cybersoul
- [12:09:34 AM] Rithzarian: primary storyline is that the main character, as a prank, is reported deceased
- [12:09:52 AM] Rithzarian: the program works, the nameless net enforcers function, and all traces of their existence is purged
- [12:10:07 AM] Rithzarian: they get stuck in a world where they can't access tech
- [12:10:14 AM] Rithzarian: where no one believes they exist or existed
- [12:10:22 AM] Rithzarian: there's just that many crawling around this system
- [12:10:28 AM] Rithzarian: like a living ghost they walk the earth
- [12:10:34 AM] Rithzarian: and then phase two hits
- [12:10:40 AM] Rithzarian: rouge cybersouls
- [12:10:43 AM] Rithzarian: ones not fully purged
- [12:10:50 AM] Rithzarian: like viruses corrupting and plaguing the system
- [12:10:58 AM] Rithzarian: drawn to a 'hostless' body
- [12:11:05 AM] Rithzarian: digital AI entities stalking the main charater of sorts
- [12:11:23 AM] Rithzarian: somehow phase 3 needs to be tied in with the 'cleaners' or some better name for them
- [12:11:57 AM] Rithzarian: the group responsible for, well, /correcting/ the net. Because no one tells lies on the internet anymore, it's as important to be lawful and governed as meatspace
- [12:12:29 AM] Rithzarian: so their job is to correct things of course. digital data and meat memory alteration, adjusting facts and posts and everything. Basicly making the world look like it's still working
- [12:13:13 AM] Rithzarian: I'm sure there's some sort of offshoot angle relating to hackers stealing your ID codes and using them for things before cleaners adjust stuff to make the digital world and meat world match again
- [12:13:35 AM] Rithzarian: causing another main character to rise and be found as a similar unplugged or perhaps even mostly rewritten metal identity
- [12:13:57 AM] Rithzarian: all to keep up some functioning matrix-like lie that existence has meaning
- [12:14:25 AM] Jade: sounds like a good plot
- [12:15:30 AM] Rithzarian: no idea how to tie this world in with an actual plot line one can follow without it ending up as a super teched up Adjustment Bureau
- [12:16:02 AM] Rithzarian: can you imagine a world where after someone dies, their cybersoul continues generating facebook and twitter posts until it's cleaned out?
- [12:16:51 AM] Rithzarian: or perhaps if it's not fully cleaned and some newborn (or possibly new of a certain congnicent age, no need to waste resources on plugging in the youngest.. maybe?) and becoming semi-possessed by the existence that was there before you
- [12:17:32 AM] Rithzarian: drawing you ever toward becoming who was and in turn revealing for this vantage point that the whole system is one big Mobius strip of the human race's new existence existing to exist as a tech based symbiot
- [12:18:14 AM] Jade: ok, mobius strip things like that are freaky
- [12:18:38 AM] Rithzarian: where meatspace has just become another form of hardware for cybersouls to host in
- [12:20:20 AM] Rithzarian: how much data is in the human brain? How much is needed to host an AI-level of consciousness? When society evolves, will we have the technology to host the entire human race? forever? as long as the tech doesn't burn out.. the cybersoul won't die on its own, it just loses it's main input source and proceeds to try to draw in others, perhaps hitting a vantage point of creating a singularity.. which of course is bad for a trillion-member Mobius strip of personal data
- [12:21:29 AM] Jade: yeah, singularities aren't good on the best of days
- [12:23:00 AM] Rithzarian: assuming of course, that it doesn't amass too fast to not learn many things we can display. Why does it have to be evil? It's merely a god exiting in the digital world. Maybe. What would drive humanity to plug in on a global scale anyways?
