  6. GOD HAS BECOME YOUR SALVATION
  7.
  8. Our Scripture reading is taken from Isaiah where it says:
  9.
  10. “And in that day (the day of salvation), you will say, “O LORD, I will praise You; Though You were ANGRY with me, Your ANGER is turned away, and You COMFORT me. Behold, God is my SALVATION. I will trust and not be AFRAID; For YAH, the LORD is my strength and song; He also has become my SALVATION. Therefore with JOY you will draw water from the wells of SALVATION” (Isaiah 12:1-3).
  11. We thank the Lord God Almighty for speaking these Words of benevolence, kindness and assurance to our soul and spirit according to the riches of His “MERCY” and “because of His great LOVE with which He LOVED us” (Ephesians 2:4). May His name be praised and adored forever and ever.
  12.
  13. The above words by which the LORD is speaking to us means a lot. So we will explore the words verse by verse in order to get a full understanding of the DEEDS of the Almighty Creator towards His fallen creatures who fell into SIN by the evil plot of Satan. So let us see the POWER of His DELIEVERANCE through JESUS CHRIST as revealed in these verses of Scripture.
  14.
  15. VERSE 1 says, “O LORD, I will praise You; Though You were ANGRY with me. Your ANGER is turned away, and You COMFORT me.”
  16.
  17. Here we need to ask ourselves: “WHY is God angry with us?” The Apostle Paul answers this question in the New Testament when he said, “Because the LAW brings about WRATH: for where there is no LAW there is no TRANSGRESSION” (Romans 4:15). It means that God was “ANGRY” with man because the whole of the humankind from Adam to the last person who will be born on this earth has broken His holy “LAW,” and Isaiah too was no exception. That’s why he said that God was “ANGRY” with him.
  18.
  19. It is therefore the “LAW” of God coupled with His “justice” which invokes His fierce “WRATH” to condemn human beings and send them to hell. However the GOOD NEWS is that Isaiah said, “Your ANGER is turned away, and You COMFORT me.” We have already seen that the “LAW” brings about God’s “WRATH” (intense anger). So if Isaiah now says that God’s “ANGER” is turned away, then it is because, “the LAW was giving through Moses, but GRACE and TRUTH came through JESUS CHRIST” (John 1: 17).
  20.
  21. In other words, it is the “GRACE” and “TRUTH” in JESUS CHRIST which turned God’s “ANGER” away from us when He received all our sins, transgressions, and iniquities upon Himself by being baptized by John the Baptist, dying on the Cross, and resurrecting from the grave. It is the God-Man JESUS, who turned God’s “WRATH” away from us.
  22.
  23. Therefore when the Apostle Paul says that, “For the WRATH is revealed from heavens against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the TRUTH in unrighteousness” (Romans 1:18), then it is because human beings do not accept the “GRACE” and “TRUTH” which was revealed by the “water and the blood” of CHRIST, but they “suppress” it and reject it. This accounts for the reason why God will throw so many people including Christians to the lake of fire.
  24.
  25. Whiles the “LAW” of Moses brought about God’s “WRATH,” the “GRACE” of our Lord JESUS turned this “WRATH” of God away and brought us “COMFORT.” That’s why Isaiah said, “and You COMFORT me.” It means he received the same “GRACE” which we have also received in CHRIST, and God is using his writings to teach us spiritual truths.
  26.
  27. That’s why JESUS tells us in the same books of Isaiah that God sent Him to “COMFORT” us. He said, “...to COMFORT all who mourn” (Isaiah 61:2). And He confirmed this in Matthew when He said, “Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be COMFORTED” (Matthew 5:4). Therefore if somebody is mourning as a result of his inability to obey the holy “LAW,” the Lord JESUS came to “COMFORT” that person by giving him His “GRACE and TRUTH.”
  28.
  29. VERSE 2 says, “Behold, God is my SALVATION. I will trust and not be afraid; For YAH, the LORD is my strength and song; He also has become my SALVATION.
  30.
  31. Isaiah actually believes in JESUS the MESSIAH as his God and the Lord of SALVATION. When he says, “Behold, God is my SALVATION,” it means that JESUS is God, but even thought He is God, He left His throne in Heaven and made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death on the Cross (Philippians 2:7-8).
  32.
  33. Therefore JESUS “the TRUE God and eternal life” (1 John 5:20) went to John the Baptist, and He accepted our SINS upon Himself so that God who “knew no SIN” will be “made a SIN for us,” so that we might become “the RIGHTEOUSNESS of God in Him (2 Corinthians 5:21). This removed all fear of judgment from us. And this is the reason why Isaiah says that “God has become my SALVATION.”
  34.
  35. Our study continues..........
  36.
  37. May the name of the LORD be PRAISE forever!
