Superkids: Detonation



	Alice Noria emerges from her family's D.A.N.G. apartment building. He father, Armand, is the Landlord of said apartment building and her mother is a D.A.N.G. secretary. Needless to say, Alice easily convinced her father to let her have one of the apartments to herself (despite her only being 13 years old).

	"I got D.A.N.G. Dance practice in five hours. That gives me plenty of time for hero work or spy work", She remarks to herself. Alice is one of the "Superkids", which are kids born with Superpowers following what was dubbed the Nuclear Apocalypse. Aside from being a crime-fighting Superhero, Alice also indulges in espionage for D.A.N.G. when the need arises. She starts to leave, then realizes she's still in her pajamas.

	"I better change before I get going", Alice remarks with a laugh. She re-enters the apartment and emerges a few minutes later in an orange shirt and knee-length purple skirt. Her red hair is now tied up in pigtails that reach almost all the way down to her butt. She does a quick twirl and then rushes down to the road, where she jumps on her rocket-powered skateboard and takes off down the road.

	The city she's in was known as Chicago in the past. Alice zooms about the city, patrolling. A dark-haired boy in a grey muscle shirt and blue jeans soon joins her. He's riding on his own rocket-powered skateboard.

	"Fancy meeting you here", the boy remarks. Alice knows this boy well, seeing as he's her boyfriend. His name is Adrien O'Malley, and he's a 14-year-old half-American/half-Irish Superkid. The two of them race together through the city until they come to what used to be an enormous shopping mall, and is now a D.A.N.G. base. Alice and Adrien share a kiss before heading inside the base. They head for what would have once been the mall's food court, and order a pizza from one of the D.A.N.G. restaurants there. Right as they are finishing off the Pizza, a dark-skinned girl approaches them.

	"I know this lassie. Her name is Nemona Jones, and she's one of D.A.N.G.'s top spies, despite being only 16 and having no superpowers", Adrien explains.

	"It would seem my reputation precedes me", Nemona remarks. She has her blonde hair tied up in a pony tail, and is wearing a skintight black bodysuit and camouflage boots.

	"I take it from that outfit that you are about to leave on a spy mission", Alice remarks. D.A.N.G. spies typically wear bodysuits and combat boots on missions.

	"As a matter of fact, I am", Nemona confirms, "And I could use some backup. You two interested?".

	"Aounds like a real humdinger", Adrien responds, "Count me in".

	"I'm not gonna let my boyfriend have all the fun", Alice adds.

	"Good. There's a stealth jet already prepped for us in the rear hangar", Nemona explains. The "rear hangar" is located in what would have been a large appliance store back in the day. A large S, which would have been the first letter in the store's sign, lies discarded nearby as the three of them enter the hangar and board the stealth jet. They immediately recognize their pilot, who happens to be Adrien's father, Eisenhower O'Malley.

	"Ike's one of D.A.N.G.'s best pilots", Nemona points, "It was his idea for me to invite you two along on this mission".

	"So, dad, what vile bloke are we up against today?", Adrien inquires.

	"Dr. Phineas Smog, alias Dr. Smoky, a volcanologist gone bad", Ike informs them, "He's known for his volcano-related schemes. Nemona here has confronted him numerous times, but never managed to bring him in".

	"He's not getting away this time", Nemona insists. Ike taxies the jet out of the hanger before taking off and activating the jet's cloaking device.

	"Dr. Smoky is currently holed up on an island near Bermuda", Ike continues, "My wife, Sandra O'Malley, flew out to the island using a jetpack late last night to do recon".

	"That's typical of mom", Adrien admits.

	"A Superkid named Kristy Garuda joined her on that recon mission, and both are waiting for us on the island", Ike adds.

	"Kristy, huh? I guess you can say that girl is a real night owl", Alice jokes. Kristy has the power to shape-shift into any animal that flies as well as flightless birds of any kind.

	"I don't think an owl can keep up with a D.A.N.G. jetpack", Adrien remarks. Their stealth jet approaches the island and lands at coordinates Adrien's mother had sent his father. a pigeon had been circling the area where the jet landed. As Alice, Adrien, Nemona, and Ike leave the jet, the pigeon dives towards them and turns into a young teen girl with messy, bushy brown hair. She is wearing a puffy camouflage shirt and light blue knee-length skirt.

	"Dr. Smoky's henchpeople jumped us and took Sandra hostage. I tried to follow them, but they got away", Kristy reveals, "The entrance to the villain's base is behind a thick door. I tried to pierce it as a woodpecker, but couldn't get through".

	"Lead me to it. I can more than likely melt it", Alice suggests.

	"Does she have fire powers or something?", Kristy inquires.

	"Alice can breath and control fire, and can also super-heat her body. This enables her to melt stuff just by touching it if she wants to", Adrien explains. Kristy leads Alice and the others to the door and Alice touches it, her hands glowing bright red. A hole is melted through the door, and Alice makes sure it's large enough for everyone to fit through. Once everyone makes it through the melted door, they find themselves face-to-face with a small army of henchpeople. They also find 3 people locked in cages, one of which is Sandra. She's in one cage by herself, and a young boy and girl are locked in the other cage. The boy has brown hair and is wearing a camouflage jacket and light blue shorts (he pretty much looks like a male version of Kristy), and the girl has red hair like Alice's, but tied in short pigtails, and is wearing red overalls over a black blouse.

	"Figures Kristy's twin brother would be here as well", Adrien remarks.

	"And if Christopher Garuda is here, his "girlfriend" Manon Noria, who also happens to be my cousin, won't be far behind", Alice adds. She explains to Nemona that Chris and Manon are 13-year-old Superkids who can usually be found hanging out together.

	"I'll sneak over and free the captives, then Ike can lead them out of here", Nemona suggests, "You two deal with these henchpeople". Alice and Adrien rush at the henchpeople, engaging in fisticuffs with them. With the goons distracted, Nemona and Ike make their way to the cages.

	"This cage has a built-in power dampener", Manon explains.

	"Which means we can't use our powers while inside it", Chris adds. Nemonia retrieves a laser from her purse and uses it to melt the cages' locks. Sandra, Manon, and Chris bust out of the unlocked cages with no problem. Some of the henchpeople take notice and move to re-capture them. Adrien holds up one of hid hands and a portal opens in-between the henchpeople and Nemona's group. The henchpeople can't stop running and tumble into said portal, which drops them off in Ike's jet's cargo bay. As they start to turn around, Adrien extracts a golf club from his backpack.

	"How are you gonna fight off a bunch of goons with a putter?", Nemona inquires. Adrien holds the putter up to his mouth and the end that would be used to hit a golf ball flips to the side, revealing an opening. Adrien blows into the handle and darts shoot out of the putter, hitting the henchpeople and causing them all to collapse.

	"Blow dart gun disguised as a putter", Alice explains.

	"Loaded with tranquilizer darts", Adrien adds. He puts the putter away and signals Ike to lead Sandra, Manon, and Chris out of the lair.

	"That portal power is really cool", Nemona remarks.

	"Just call me The Human Isekai", Adrien remarks.

	"That just sounds dorky. Just stick with Isekai as your superhero name", Alice retorts, "By the way, my Superhero name is Pyroette". She realized that she and Adrien had never told Nemona their hero names. Once Ike and the others have left, Alice, Adrien, and Nemona head further into Dr. Smoky's lair. They quickly locate the mad volcanologist's lab, and see smoke coming out from under the door. Alice melts a hole though this door as well, and they find a scene of absolute destruction before them. Dr. Smoky is lying spread-eagled on the ground, unmoving. Nemona checks his pulse, and determines the villain is dead. There's a small pistol on the ground near the body.

	"You think he shot himself?", Alice reasons.

	"Highly unlikely", Nemona replies, picking up the gun, "This pistol hasn't been fired lately, but there is a bullet loaded in it".

	"It looks like something in this lab exploded", Adrien adds, "Maybe he accidentally blew himself up".

	"Why would he have loaded his gun if he was experimenting with explosives?" Alice points out.

	"I had a similar thought", Nemona reveals. She picks up some material from the debris.

	"This is remnants from a bomb", She explains, "I think someone else planted a bomb here, and Dr. Smoky was preparing to defend himself with the gun, but the bomber detonated their explosive before he could shoot them. Dr. Smoky was murdered, and we may be facing a terrorist". They take the dead body and the gun back to the jet so D.A.N.G. can examine them later.

	"We just got word from D.A.N.G.", Ike informs them as they approach the jet, "There's been an explosion in the vicinity of the group of islands known as the Bahamas, which is fairly close to where you are".

	"Let's go check it out", Nemona suggests, "Someone blew up Dr. Smoky's lab. The mad volcanologist may have been the victim of a terrorist". She places Dr. Smoky's body in the cargo hold (the captured henchpeople have already been detained by a D.A.N.G. squadron and taken away), and makes sure all 5 Superkids are on board the jet. A short flight later, they arrive in the Bahamas. Disembarking from the jet, they head towards a plume of smoke in the distance. The smoke turns out to be coming from the wreckage of a building and Nemona and the Superkids see a man lying in the middle of it that all of them recognize.

	"Dr. Flamethrower", Nemona points out, "Otherwise known as Dr. Henry Friar. He's wanted by D.A.N.G. on several counts of arson".

	"A Superkid friend of mine named Saladora Blitzer told me about Dr. Flamethrower", Alice reveals, "She and the team of Superkids she's part of fought and defeated him once before".

	"Then how did he end up in the Bahamas?", Ike inquires. He contacts D.A.N.G. and learns that Dr. Flamethrower had broken out of prison a week ago. The villain recovers and stands up. Everyone braces themselves for Dr. Flamethrower to attack them.

	"Take me back to D.A.N.G. please. I'd rather be in a safe prison where that madman can't get me", Dr. Flamethrower pleads. He falls to his knees in from of Ike and Nemona.

	"What madman?", Sandra inquires.

	"The madman they call The Demolitionist", Dr. Flamethrower wheezes. Nemona slaps handcuffs on Dr. Flamethrower and leads him onto the jet. Once he is secure, She returns to discuss what he said.

	"I've heard of this "Demolitionist" before", She reveals.

	"Same here", Alice and Adrien both add.

	"I thought he was just a rumor", Kristy remarks.

	"D.A.N.G. kept it very hush-hush, so most people don't know about The Demolitionist, or they think he's just a rumor", Nemona points out.

	"Who exactly IS this Demolitonist?", Chris inquires.

	"He's one of D.A.N.G.'s most dangerous enemies. A mad bomber whose real name is Calypso Scott. Apparently he once worked for a construction crew that built D.A.N.G. bases. There was an accident involving dynamite one day and several workers, including Calypso himself, were injured in the blast. Since he was in charge of demolitions, Calypso was held responsible for it. He ended up getting fired despite it being an accident, and has been seeking revenge ever since", Nemona explains.

	"Then, why is he going after other villains instead of targeting D.A.N.G. or us Superkids?", Manon inquires.

	"Who knows?", Nemona remarks, "Right now, we just need a way to track Demolitionist down before he blows up anything, or anyone, else".
