  39. [12:25 PM] AZQ: I think its regrettable, as someone who left for a time as well. It can be very difficult for someone when things aren't going the way you want them to, and for someone who wanted to focus primarily on writing, I understand how that could be frustrating.
  40. [12:32 PM] AZQ: It is sad they chose to leave a place which essentially became a hangout for a group of friends. When I left, and I didn't disinvite myself because I knew I'd want to come back. This feels more permanent, and I feel bad personally because I know she and I tried to talk things out many times (this may ring true for others) about writing and life
  41. [12:33 PM] AZQ: But I don't think we ever came to fully understand one another and become 'friends'. Which is an odd thing to say about someone who you've been around for nearly a decade
  42. [12:34 PM] AZQ: If this wasn't it, I truly hope she finds the environment she's looking for that will make her happy.
  43. [12:42 PM] Nextoy: Sorta came off to me as a situation where there were two different sets of people, when it came to how this group is seen. One saw a writing group, and the other saw a hangout spot for friends. And the fact that this place was introduced to me as the former says a lot, when I don't really view it as such anymore.

  47. [1:11 PM] Xephyr ChaosStorm: This group was a hodge podge of people from another group who wanted to write and wanted an audience. We can pretend like we didnt care all we want, but I think the unspoken point of Ursoul was that there was always a place where your work would be appreciated, or at least recognized.
  48. [1:15 PM] Xephyr ChaosStorm: I think it's false that people dont care if their stories are read. That shouldnt be your primary motivation, but art wants to be recognized. It says something. It's a form of expression. It's a reflection on your feelings. And it's human to want your feelings to be seen.

  51. [1:22 PM] AZQ: Which, tbh, I don't recall if it was pre-TC or right after it had started
  52. [1:23 PM] Xephyr ChaosStorm: Oh yeah it started as a basis for which to discuss collab fics
  53. [1:23 PM] AZQ: But it was mostly because people like Leon, Nelo, BH and others were making fun of the fic and Zero created ursoul as a way to vent frustrations and to have a sort of a "safe space" to discuss it (or at least what dicks the others were being)

  63. [1:28 PM] Nextoy: But going back a topic, I do see this as a place to deposit my writing. Though I'll throw down my stuff anywhere I think I won't get boo'd off stage. So I don't see that as my primary reason for being here.

  73. [1:40 PM] Nextoy: I may or may not have a hobby of translating characters into other games and writing down approximately how they'd function.

  77. [1:42 PM] Nextoy: Actually my end goal for my Book of 100 Warriors is just to have a Not!Dissidia of my own creation.

  81. [1:56 PM] Nextoy: NT moveset are much easier to create, if you ask me, but I prefer the depth that 012 had. Just needed some engine fixing.

  84. [2:00 PM] AZQ: I know I struggled to do mine because I didn't like the changes and couldn't be bothered the learn the new moveset structure

  96. [2:39 PM] MerryCrono: for my two cents - this place has always been a place for friends and a place for writing, both at once. personally i just prefer for the two to be a nice balance, it just feels dead when it's too much of one or the other imo.
