  1. Dear Hiring Manager,
  2.
  3. My name is Alexander, and I’m applying to the Glen Cove Starbucks store today in hopes of acquiring a position as a barista. This is my second time applying to the Starbucks franchise, the first time I getting an interview for the Sea Cliff Starbucks. After not acquiring the job a few months ago, much of my time has gone into improving and growing myself to be a far more desirable candidate.
  4. Working with people is something I consider myself very strong at — whether the people in question are extremely kind, or extremely rude. I’ve always had a knack for getting on people’s good side and treating people with respect, whether or not they deserve it. I see this as a very strong quality to have while working in this line of work. People very often can be very rude or aggravated from outside occurrences in their life, whether it be a bad day at work or getting a parking ticket they didn’t necessarily deserve. It’s important to respect that some people can have these off days, and retorting them with mirrored rudeness may do nothing but escalate the scenario. This line of thinking has proved to be extremely invaluable towards helping people like friends and family in times where they had stressful scenarios or issues ahead of them they needed help getting through. Being able to handle people in this way, and ensure that you are calm and helpful while talking to them at all times, is very useful in a food service job position.
  5. I’m someone who can learn and pick up on different things extremely quickly. During schooling, picking up on concepts, ideas, and formulas has always come natural to me. Working hard is still a priority, however. Throughout my years of taking numerous AP classes, my hard work pushed me to the top of my class and allowed much success in my academics. Learning how to improve and apply myself to work through school has led me to be able to improve heavily in many hobbies I dedicate myself to. One of my favorite hobbies, playing guitar, is something improvement and growth has come as a result of my hard working tendencies in school. Constant practice, even on the boring and meticulous aspects of playing, has been a major part of growing and improving at playing, and has led me to be far better than I ever thought possible of myself! This methodology for learning and improving at new tasks should prove vital for the position I am applying for.
  6. I hope that I am an appealing and sought after candidate for a position at the Glen Cove Starbucks. Thank you for your time, and I hope you consider me for hire!
  7.
  8. Best Regards,
  9.
  10. Alexander Garcia
