Ino Yamanaka was hard at work practicing her techniques outside.  She had found a nice, quiet area, a shady grove by a calm river.  Her skills as a ninja were becoming a bit lacking, she had not practiced in some time.  Worse still, she worried she was starting to get fat.

“I need to become a strong enough kunoichi to protect those I care for!” Ino said.  She leapt from tree branch to tree branch, honing her maneuverability skills.

Suddenly, there was a disturbance in the river.  A loud splash surprised her, and a powerful geyser of warm water drenched her outfit as she was in the middle of her jump.  Her slippery hands could not grab hold onto the next ranch and she fell flat on her ass.

“Who the hell is messing with my training regimen?!” yelled Ino.  Looking over to the place where the water attack had come from, she saw a small, blue, aquatic Pokémon with stubby feet and stout fin-like arms.

The little creature attempted to douse her again, this time with a stream of water from its mouth.

“I don’t think so!” exclaimed Ino.  “Mind Body Switch Technique!”

Her ninjutsu power hit the Pokémon right in the red gem on its chest.  For a brief second everything went dark and suddenly Ino was looking at herself through the Pokémon’s eyes.

“Ha ha!” Ino said smugly swallowing the water in her new mouth.  Her oval shaped head tilted as she laughed at the confused look on her original face.  “Gotcha!” she exclaimed, but her words didn’t come out in human language at all.  Instead they were a mixture of grabbled gurgling and slouching.  Ino looked down at her body and saw she had a yellow dot below the red gem on her torso.  It glowed when she thought about using her powers. Since Ino had the body of the Pokémon, she could use its powers as well.

Ino was a very smart student and recalled reading about Manaphy in school.  Manaphy was not exactly a major legendary Pokémon, but it had similar powers to Ino’s Mind Body Switch Technique.  Ino fluttered her new eyes with large lashes and thought what she might do now that she had twice the power she had before.  Her antennae wobbled back and forth as she pondered.

“I know!” she said.  “I’ll use Heart Swap on a Rattata, to force Manaphy to become that weak Pokémon and teach it a lesson for disrupting my training.  Then Mind Body Switch Technique back to my original body.  Genius plan!”  Her speech sounded atrocious, like the drooling of a baby, but it would be over soon enough.

She saw one of the critters jump out from the underbrush.  It had all the characteristics of a rat, black, and gamely.  But it also had a fluffy mustache.  “Here goes!” she burbled and used Heart Swap.

Just as she did, a man came running straight into her, knocking her very frail body to the side and hurting her.

“Move bitch, get out the way!” yelled the man.

“How rude!” Ino thought, focusing her mind swapping powers on him instead.

Suddenly Ino’s new eyes were aglow with psychic power and the outlines of the man and the rat were both covered in purple.

However, using a Pokémon attack instead of her Mind Body Switch Technique proved to be a disaster, it drained her vitality and made her very sleepy.  After seeing the two souls cross into different bodies, Ino promptly had to close her Pokémon eyes.

Later that day, Ino woke up, but her human body was missing.  “Oh rats!” she said clumsily lashing out with one of her unwieldy blue flippers.  “Where’s my original body at?”
