  1. [6:16 PM] clefairiel: hi
  2. [6:17 PM] clefairiel: If you do not mind I have a couple of questions for you
  3. [6:22 PM] benguin: sure! go ahead
  4. [6:23 PM] clefairiel: What was the hardest thing about being a mafia for you in the last game?
  5. [6:23 PM] clefairiel: Another one is, have you taken any notes?
  6. [6:26 PM] benguin: I'd say the hardest thing about being a mafia for me is:
  7.
  8. 1) trying to push the game in a direction that'd be beneficial for wolves whilst appearing to push the game in a direction that'd be beneficial for town and
  9. 2) trying to do (1) in a way that is believably consistent with all my previous actions and "thoughts"
  10. [6:28 PM] benguin: And also, I feel like as wolf, I'm much more careful about my choice of words because I'm worried that what I might say might come off as wolfish. Then I'd get worried because people might think that my posts are wolfy if it seems that my posts appeared to be too carefully worded.
  11. [6:30 PM] benguin: And I don't have notes. I mostly wrote notes as a wolf last game for my own sake because I was having such a hard time fabricating actual thoughts that I needed to see a bigger picture of what was happening in order to come up with believable reads/beliefs/thoughts/etc.
  12. [6:35 PM] clefairiel: I find what you are describing in (1) surprising since it seemed like deliberate strategy how much you were saying you were sussing your other mafias
  13. [6:38 PM] benguin: Stupid question that I haven't asked anyone yet because I'm afraid to sound stupid: what does "sussing" actually mean? xD
  14. [6:38 PM] clefairiel: Oh sorry. It means finding somebody suspicious
  15. [6:38 PM] benguin: gotcha
  16. [6:39 PM] benguin: I recall looking up the term once and found that it's a british verb meaning "to investigate or figure out" which I guess isn't too far off lol
  17. [6:39 PM] clefairiel: I played Town of Salem off and on for about 4 years before I tried TWG, and it's normal to say somebody is "sus" as shorthand for suspicious
  18. [6:39 PM] clefairiel: and I also say "sussing" but I may actually be the only person on FFR that says it
  19. [6:39 PM] clefairiel: I am not sure
  20. [6:40 PM] benguin: I've seen other people say it...I think it's the double s that probably through me off since "suspicious" doesn't have a double s lol
  21. [6:41 PM] clefairiel: Although, I guess spending the whole first day saying roundbox is suspicious, was not necessarily bad since others did not agree with you
  22. [6:42 PM] clefairiel: And you were kind of backed into a corner with voting for raeko
  23. [6:42 PM] clefairiel: But I was just surprised how much of what you did, was mafia on mafia violence. Haha
  24. [6:42 PM] benguin: Funny thing is that I had forgotten that roundbox was even my wolf partner during the first day and only figured out once it was the night afterwards lmfao
  25. [6:42 PM] benguin: And then I was kinda stuck to stick with that lmfao
  26. [6:42 PM] clefairiel: Combined with the idea that you are trying to push things in a good direction for the wolves
  27. [6:43 PM] clefairiel: That actually makes a lot of sense
  28. [6:43 PM] clefairiel: That is funny
  29. [6:43 PM] clefairiel: In Town of Salem they have a little thing on your screen at all times that tells you who is also a mafia, so that helps with that
  30. [6:44 PM] benguin: (brb, gotta put my laptop away and hop on this bus)
  31. [6:44 PM] clefairiel: Ok
  32. [6:51 PM] benguin: Ok, on my phone now :P
  33. [6:51 PM] benguin: And that little thing on the screen seems like a helpful feature xP
  34. January 20, 2018
  35. [3:47 PM] clefairiel: Hello again
  36. [4:02 PM] benguin: Hiya, what's up?
  37. [4:06 PM] clefairiel: "There were a good amount of people in my tribe that ended up having a lot of discussion regarding the wolves distributions between the tribes and how possibly distributions could benefit town and stuff like that. I personally thought must of that discussion was a waste of time (since OoT allows us to talk to any group of people privately) so I feel like there's at least 1 wolf in that discussion (I'll have to look back and see who participated in that discussion)."
  38. [4:07 PM] clefairiel: I was wondering if you looked at that yet
  39. [4:09 PM] benguin: Not really. I do remember that ffa was part of that discussion though so I was ok with a vote on him. I went to bed shortly afterwards and slept in.
  40. [4:10 PM] benguin: I'm at the grocery store atm, I'll probably take a look at that when I come back.
  41. [4:11 PM] clefairiel: If you get some free time later, will you poke me?
  42. [4:11 PM] benguin: Sure.
  43. [8:47 PM] clefairiel: Do you think this game is hard?
  44. [9:11 PM] benguin: I wouldn't say that it's easy
  45. [9:13 PM] benguin: 16 people is a lot to keep track of
  46. the OoT changes the dynamic of the game (and create more work to do, e.g., keeping up with tribe chat and private dm's)
  47. [9:41 PM] clefairiel: Does it bother you that you may get shot by the 1-shot vigilante shot?
  48. [9:45 PM] benguin: I wasn't aware that there was a decent probability of that occuring.
  49. [9:51 PM] clefairiel: http://www.flashflashrevolution.com/vbz/showthread.php?p=4606013#post4606013
  50. [9:52 PM] benguin: Yeah, I hopped into the thread and just saw that (I had forgotten he said that).
  51. [9:52 PM] benguin: I wonder if that was due to what he thought were good picks or if he actually took everyone else's picks into account?
  52. [9:53 PM] benguin: Because from what I can see in the thread, no one mentioned me in their two picks (unless I missed something).
  53. [9:54 PM] benguin: Although, I'm guessing there are likely a good handful of people that have told him their picks but didn't announce those picks in the thread.
  54. [10:15 PM] benguin: What do you think about the possibility of shado being a wolf?
  55. For some reason, I don't like the way he's going about this using his vigi.
  56. [10:16 PM] clefairiel: it's possible
  57. [10:16 PM] clefairiel: if he is a town he may die tonight anyway
  58. [10:16 PM] clefairiel: so I am trying to work with him while I can
  59. [10:19 PM] benguin: Okie dokie. I guess what I'm trying to say is that if he was a wolf and if his current partners were not heavily suspected, then it would be really convenient to hold a vote and to essentially take no accountability for the kill since such a kill would have been "the will of the town" or whatever.
  60. [10:19 PM] benguin: idk, maybe I'm just being paranoid and speculating into things too muh
  61. [10:19 PM] benguin: much*
  62. [10:33 PM] clefairiel: That makes some sense to me
  63. [10:33 PM] clefairiel: It creates more "counterwagons"
  64. [10:34 PM] clefairiel: amongst town in that case
