  1. YW2 General FAQ. Last updated 2016-10-25, it's essentially complete. Now with a dedicated URL so links won't go stale!
  2.
  3. Read this first:
  4. - Save before using scratch cards, they sometimes freeze the game, apparently.
  5. - Don't change your system time after you create a file!
  6. (the game will punish you by locking you out of various features for multiple days.)
  7. - If you are just interested in the crank-a-kai mechanics, scroll down to the bottom of the FAQ.
  8. - Advice: Without resorting to spoilers, upon completing Master Nyada's Trials, don't advance the story any further unless you are ready to complete the game (healing items, food, ready to rumble.)
  9. - Run battles at x2 speed by pressing X during the battle.
  10. - Pressing R, A, or the D-pad will advance text
  11. - Many yo-kai you get during the story are initially nontradable, but they all become tradable after beating the story.
  12. - Fucking fuck balls fuck shit the fishing mini game you can just play by mashing A smdh
  13. - Playing a round of blasters removes the "Terror time warning", even if you fail out immediately.
  14. - Keep those exporbs for EV training - see "How do I make my yo-kai stronger?"
  15.
  16. === General FAQ
  17.
  18. Q) What changed from YW1?
  19. A) Probably the biggest is (+) wifi-trading and (-) changing the system time is now punished. Other more subtle changes:
  20. - You can dash on your bike
  21. - Slightly higher befriending rates, see "How do I befriend things?" for details.
  22. - Slippery tribe bonus nerfed, now only slightly reduces chance of being inspirited (almost unnoticable)
  23. - Oldness zone (Eterna, Everfore ability) nerfed so it only works when they are in the front
  24. - You can choose a yo-kai to follow you around, talk to Whisper in your room
  25.
  26. Q) How do I give less money to Level-5?
  27. A) See this pastebin with download links
  28. http://pastebin.com/S7PmRKbn
  29.
  30. Q) How do I rename yo-kai?
  31. A) Requires access to the excellent tower, around rank C watch. When you go inside and hug the left side of the building, there will be a baffle board that you need to bring a Wazzat to, once you do that, you'll be able to rename yo-kai that you befriended. Yo-kai you obtained via trading cannot be renamed.
  32.
  33. - Wazzat are found in breezy hills on trees
  34.
  35. Q) Dailys guide?
  36. A) Dailys guide.
  37. http://pastebin.com/ZX20FLm7
  38.
  39. Q) Infinite tunnel guide?
  40. A) Infinite tunnel guide.
  41. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1smaOyT-xUxkiE9XfnSSf_Z00NkeJ8YXiAOTgrL6KZm8/edit#gid=0
  42.
  43. - The tunnel is a daily event.
  44. - The first time you'll get a short tunnel and it will get progressively longer up to a limit with repeated attempts.
  45.
  46. Q) How do I trade medals?
  47. A) The Medal swap app is unlocked after completing the "Officially official" key quest required before becoming rank D, and is required to get all medals. To trade with someone over wi-fi, you must both add each other as friends.
  48.
  49. - It's easiest if one trader repeatedly sends invites. At the bottom right of the bottom screen there is a friend-list icon, the other trader should press this to connect to the internet and confirm the other trader is listed, then press B to cancel out. The trade request will just show up while you're roaming around, but it may take 10-20 seconds to show up (Nintendo slow servers?) Repeat as necessary...
  50.
  51. - You can start a new save file, get to the crank-a-kai, and complete this mission in under 1.5 hours easily, wink wink.
  52.
  53. Q) Why do I sometimes trip?
  54. A) Apparently tripping is not random but a result of your feet being wet. Avoid puddles if it bothers you. There is also a "tripping weather" that makes you trip more frequently.
  55.
  56. Q) WHERE DO I GET THE FUCKING BIKE?
  57. A) You get it late rank C / early rank B after a key quest needed to advance the story.
  58.
  59. Q) Are there missables in this game?
  60. A) No. The closest thing is Snartle, which is easier to defeat at rank E / D but rubberbands hardcore at higher watch ranks.
  61.
  62. Q) What the fuck is this red box?
  63. A) Basically it's how to befriend Sir Berus. On random clear nights, a strange guy will hand you a red box when you are walking around towns. If you open the red box, usually some mysterious outcome will happen (see below link for the whole list.) If you hold onto the box for at least one in-game day, you can then encounter the guy a second time (during the day or at night.) He will ask for the box back, and if you refuse and open the box you may encounter Sir Berus, which you can then befriend through the usual method.
  64.
  65. The easiest way to find the guy is to sleep one day and then look on the minimap for a blue face in an unusual location. Once he shows up, save before talking to him so IF you get a Sir Berus encounter, you can soft reset until you befriend him.
  66.
  67. What you get from the box is fixed when you get the box, so if it's not Sir Berus just give him back the box and get a new box.
  68.
  69. The locations he shows up are too many to list here, consult the full Japanese guide below. Google translate works fine here.
  70. http://y-watch.info/capture/day-redbox.php
  71.
  72. Q) Why can't I fuse XXX with Jibanyan?
  73. A) Jibanyan doesn't fuse in YW2 like he did in YW1. You can get a thornyan OR a baddinyan near the apartments in shopper's row early in the game. Trade to get both.
  74.
  75. Q) Jibanyan's soultimate moves?
  76. A) Jibanyan has three extra powerful soultimate moves unlocked from QR codes. You can scan all three and switch which soultimate Jibanyan uses in-game at any time from the Medal window.
  77.
  78. - Victory is a powerful move, especially early-game, and Nyaight is useful for removing enemy debuffs.
  79.
  80. - For QR codes see "Passwords? QR code?"
  81.
  82. Q) Where do I find more doors of whimsy?
  83. A) See the "Mystery doors" section of this FAQ:
  84. http://imgur.com/a/HBkws
  85.
  86. - Yo-kai that you fight in doors of whimsey are befriendable.
  87.
  88. - The event is randomly chosen when you open the door, so you can soft-reset until you get the event you desire.
  89.
  90. Q) Baffle board guide?
  91. A) Baffle board guide.
  92. http://yokaiwatch.wikia.com/wiki/Baffle_Boards
  93.
  94. Q) Terror time / blasters guide?
  95. A) Terror time / blasters guide.
  96. http://imgur.com/a/2MK3o
  97.
  98. Q) Who should I befriend?
  99. A) The easiest way is to enter your yo-kai into this IV calculator and derive base 60 stats
  100. http://togenyanweb.appspot.com/Yokai/yw2/ivChecker_en.html
  101.
  102. Alternatively, here is a big table of the underlying stats that might be more useful, but you'll have to do some math
  103. http://togenyanweb.appspot.com/Yokai/yw2/yokaiList_en.html
  104.
  105. - Stat calculation formula
  106. Tribal value A + (individual value + race value B - race value A) * 0.010204 * (level - 1) + personality bonus * (1 + level * .0050505)
  107. However, the exact value of the fraction is 0x3C272F05, 0x3BA57EB5 (IEEE 754 single accuracy)
  108. calculation is carried out in a single-precision floating-point number, the last truncation only once.
  109.
  110. For more details see here
  111. http://togenyanweb.appspot.com/Yokai/
  112.
  113. Alternative list (in Japanese) that shows the level 60 stats of yo-kai, which may be easier to use:
  114. http://hrs-game.main.jp/youkai_watch2/data/list_00-0.html
  115. - Look up yo-kai medal numbers in-game to find the row you're interested in, the stats are shown in the far-right column in standard order (HP, ATK, SPR, DEF, SPD).
  116.
  117. Q) Elemental weaknesses?
  118. Elemental weaknesses guide.
  119. http://imgur.com/a/pHgA2
  120.
  121. Q) Which yo-kai evolve / fuse? Fusion guide?
  122. A) See this, scroll down for fusion list
  123. http://yokaiwatch.wikia.com/wiki/Evolution
  124.
  125. - Jungle Hunter sells quite a few of the required fusion items, some of which are only sold after your watch hits rank S (postgame.)
  126.
  127. - The Sand Suit for Sandmeh -> Mr. Sandmeh is a possible 3rd prize from the scratchers sold outside of Excellent tower (not the other stand in front of Springdale Station.)
  128.
  129. - The item for Hungramps -> Hungorge is a possible reward from getting 30/30 at the dinnertime minigame at your house. Just sleep until night and eat your dinner again until you get it.
  130.
  131. Q) Where do I befriend XXX?
  132. A) Many yo-kai that were in YW1 are now in a different place in YW2, and the wiki is slow to provide the new YW2 locations.
  133.
  134. - This FAQ has how-to guides for some of the legendaries and version exclusives.
  135. http://imgur.com/a/HBkws
  136.
  137. - The fruitnyans show up (after you have scanned their QR codes) in Harrisville school, present.
  138. For QR codes see "Password? QR code?"
  139.
  140. - Robo-kai are found on train station platforms:
  141. Robokapp - Green Street
  142. Robokoma - Hibarly Hills
  143. Robomutt - Bayside
  144. Robodraggie - Ridgemont
  145. Robonoko - Dingle Falls
  146. Robogramps - Temple Park
  147.
  148. - Sergeant Burly quick-guide
  149. Climb the flagpole at school 3 real-time days. On the third day (maybe the fourth going forward) you will get a random event at the top. Save before climbing so you can soft reset for the event that shows Seargeant Burly. Once you get that event, he will be at the top of the school as a daily battle where you can befriend him.
  150.
  151. - Daiz: Jumbo slider. Near the bathrooms, rarely replaces the walking around yo-kai. Every time you inspect the nearby trees, the yokai walking around can change into a Daiz so rinse and repeat. Basically:
  152. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b5MW2C_rNng
  153.
  154. - If you can read Japanese, the below link should be useful. Otherwise ask on the thread where to find things.
  155. http://enjoi.sakura.ne.jp/youkai-watch2/ji_1_39.html
  156.
  157. - Or you can google:
  158. > search the yokai you want (for example Leadoni)
  159. > go to the wikia and get it's japanese name みちび鬼
  160. > Search 妖怪ウォッチ2 (it means yokai watch 2 in japanese) + the yokai you want in japanese (so みちび鬼 for leadoni)
  161. > tada, all the info you ever need about that yokai in nip, just use your google translate-foo or if you're really lazy, check the youtube vids, that's idiot proof.
  162.
  163. Q) How do I befriend things?
  164. A) Befriending things is, like in YW1, cancer. To maximize friendship rates you should (1) use the best food possible (2) have a yo-kai with the Popularity skill or a superstar soul (3) use the poking mechanic and (4) pop wisps (and pray.)
  165.
  166. - Poking guide:
  167. http://pastebin.com/mcPw7aMD
  168.
  169. - A handy new feature in YW2 is that when targeting an enemy (basic targeting pin - not the poke pin) the yo-kai's favorite food is displayed below-right the pin. It also tells you whether you have befriended the yo-kai before in its bony or fleshy version!
  170.
  171. - For locations on where to buy food, see "Where do I buy food XXX?" below.
  172.
  173. - It goes without saying that you should save before a yo-kai and soft-reset to avoid using up all of your pricey food! See "How do I make money?" if you are out of money.
  174.
  175. - The easiest way to get a yo-kai with popularity is advance to rank C and catch a shmoopie in trees in downtown springdale.
  176.
  177. - The superstar soul is an equippable that has the same effect as popularity, but does not stack with popularity. Using it frees up a slot on your team, and it's easy to craft. See the "Soulcery?" section for instructions.
  178.
  179. - Pandanoko makes wisps show up way earlier in the battle, which is useful since wisps sometimes contain hearts. However, Pandanoko is hard to get. Ask an injector in the thread to make one for you.
  180.
  181. Q) Where do I buy food XXX?
  182. A) List:
  183.
  184. Rice balls: The breezy hills Everymart sells the best rice balls. Alternatively, any other everymart.
  185. Candy: Candy Apple from a stand at "festival mode" Mt. Wildwood shrine. Alternatively, candy shop near watch shop.
  186. Bread: Blehgel from a stand at "festival mode" Mt. Wildwood shrine. Alternatively, bakery in breezy hills.
  187. Milk: Amazing Milk from a stand at "festival mode" Mt. Wildwood shrine. Alternatively, springs near the watch shop.
  188. Chocobar: Candy shop near watch shop. There are no upgraded chocobars, so catching -nyan's is ultimate cancer.
  189. Drinks: Voltextremes drop randomly when you purchase from a soda machine.
  190. Hamburger: Burger shop in downtown sprindale.
  191. Fish: Rusty's Mart in San Fantastico gets the best fish - it's at the bottom of the steps on the left, easy to miss. Alternatively, fish place in uptown springdale.
  192. Sweets: Cafe on the east side of downtown springdale.
  193. Meat: Shop in flower lane in shoppers row. Version in the present gets the best meat eventually.
  194. Veggies: Shop in flower lane in shoppers row. Version in the past gets the best veggies.
  195. Ramen: Shop in flower lane in shoppers row.
  196. Chinese food: "
  197. Sushi: " <- New in YW2, it's on the right wall before the chinese food place. Easy to miss.
  198. Curry: Curry shop on the west side of downtown springdale.
  199. Snacks: Bar next door to the curry shop (open at night.)
  200. Oden: The roving oden stall (open on clear nights.) See "How do I find the roving oden stall?"
  201. Soba noodles: Dropped by a guy riding around Springdale balancing too many boxes of soba. See "How do I find the soba bike guy?"
  202. Doughnuts: Two shops on shoppers row.
  203.
  204. - If you're planning to buy a lot of Choice Tuna, give one to the feuding gourmands in Harrisfield (past) and it will cut the price in half at Rusty's.
  205.
  206. Q) How do I make money?
  207. A) Almost certainly the fastest way to make money is to battle yo-kai that have valuable drops and sell them. Abilities and soul gems that increase drop rate, such as Cynake and Cynake's soul gem (See "Soulcery?"), make this even more effective.
  208.
  209. - One good option is Spenp farming (rank C) in shopper's row under cars. A good place to find them is the lot left of the hospital. Spenps drop silver dolls that sell for 50$ at a reasonably high rate.
  210.
  211. Q) How do I get more lottery tickets?
  212. A) They drop regularly from the following enemies. Bring a cynake with a lvl 10 cynake soul (see "Soulcery?")
  213.
  214. Dubbles, appearing in Shopper's Row
  215. Yoink, appearing in Harrisville Station's alley
  216.
  217. Q) How do I get more medicine?
  218. A) List:
  219. Nasty medicine
  220. - 30$ at the medicine store, or fuse a stinky herb + healing herb, or drops from Furgus
  221. Bitter medicine
  222. - Fuse a nasty medicine + bitter herb
  223. Mighty medicine
  224. - Common drop from the final boss refight
  225.
  226. - Stinky herb, healing herb, bitter herb, and even bitter medicine can all be collected as sparklies
  227.
  228. Q) How do I make my yo-kai stronger?
  229. A) Yo-Kais earn Effort Values (EVs) through combat and the use of exporbs based on their attitude. Attitudes also determine how a yo-kai acts during battle but can be changed whenever using books. There is a sports club new in YW2 that allows you to power up yo-kai's stats further. Yo-Kai also have hidden Individual Values (IVs,) so two identical yo-kai can have widely different stats. And of course, equipment ups stats further.
  230.
  231. - EVs are awarded 10 times, when a hidden counter hits 10, 20, 40, 60, 90, 120, 160, 200, 250, and 300. This hidden counter starts at 0 at befriending and increase once each encounter where a yo-kai is used. Using exporbs increases this counter much faster; Mini: 1, small: 3, medium: 6, large: 12, ultra: 20, and holy: 30.
  232.
  233. When each threshold is reached, you get 2 EVs. See "Attributes?" for more details.
  234. Grouchy HP, STR
  235. Rough STRx2 -- Good for attackers
  236. Logical SPR, SPD -- Good for enemy-hitting technique users
  237. Brainy SPRx2 -- Good for enemy-hitting technique users
  238. Careful SPR, DEF
  239. Calm DEFx2 -- Good for tanks. DEF is more important than HP.
  240. Gentle HP, SPR
  241. Tender HPx2
  242. Twisted STR, SPD -- Good for attackers
  243. Cruel SPDx2 -- Good for attackers
  244. Helpful HP, SPD -- Good for healers
  245. Devoted STR, DEF
  246.
  247. - Each EV awards (1 + level * .0050505) stat points, EVs are translated to stat growth on level up.
  248.
  249. - IVs add up to 40 and each translates into 0.010204*level stat points, except for HP which have doubled effect.
  250.
  251. - If the above makes your head spin, try instead using the IVchecker app and playing with numbers
  252. http://togenyanweb.appspot.com/Yokai/yw2/ivChecker_en.html
  253.
  254. - Source for the above information

  256.
  257. - Guide for opening the sports club
  258. http://mtwildwood.net/news/104sports.html
  259. -- The sports club is especially useful for boosting the defense of your tanks, see archetypes below.
  260.
  261. - Some basic archetypes for teambuilding:
  262. -- Get you a tank! Tough-type yo-kai with high defense. Run them calm, so their defense is as high as possible and so they guard. Use a Stinging soul to aggro attacks (See "Soulcery?")
  263. --- Calm yo-kai still only guard a fraction of the time. Hence, consider using a tank with the Blocker ability: Noway, Impass, Walldin, Robonyan.
  264. --- Swelton is an interesting alternative because it can use a Stinging soul plus a Stubborn soul (See "Soulcery?")
  265. -- Get you a healer! Mysterious or heartful yo-kai (+ Shadow Venoct), ideally with high speed. Inspirits that do healing-over-time are pretty useful too. Helpful is the best choice for EV training since speed is the most important, switch to Gentle, Tender, Helpful, or Devoted for battles.
  266. -- Get you an attack-DPS! Pick a yo-kai with high attack and speed. Twisted, cruel, rough are all valid choices when EV training and switch to rough for battles.
  267. -- Get you a spirit-DPS! Pick a yo-kai with high spirit and speed. Logical, brainy, and cruel are all valid choices when EV training and switch to brainy for battles.
  268.
  269. - Exotic archetypes
  270. -- Combo a fast Yoodooit with a slow yo-kai
  271. --- The Yoodooit effectively copies the power and moves of the neighboring yo-kai but at its own speed
  272. --- A 20 SPD EV, 40 SPD IV, +40 SPD Equip Yoodooit at level 60 hits 185 speed
  273. ---- Kat's kraydel rarely drops a +50 ATk +50 SPD equip for B rank and below => 195 speed
  274.
  275. - Fiend badge is the best equip for healers
  276. -- You can get only one, from the bike race in the past, Springdale schoolyard.
  277.
  278. Q) Attitudes?
  279. A) Attitudes make a yo-kai more likely to perform some action during combat. Excluding Shadow Venoct, only enemy-hitting technique users can be Logical or Brainy, only healing-technique users can be Gentle or Tender, only enemy inspiriters can be Twisted or Cruel, and only ally inspiriters can be Helpful or Devoted.
  280.
  281. List of attitudes with likely actions:
  282. Grouchy Attack
  283. Rough Attack more
  284. Logical Technique (Enemy)
  285. Brainy Technique (Enemy) more
  286. Careful Guard
  287. Calm Guard more
  288. Gentle Healing technique
  289. Tender Healing technique more
  290. Twisted Inspirit (Enemy)
  291. Cruel Inspirit (Enemy) more
  292. Helpful Inspirit (Ally)
  293. Devoted Inspirit (Ally) more
  294.
  295. - Books for changing attitudes are purchasable at the bookstore at Flower Road in Shopper's Row. They are also rare drops from some enemies, using things such as Cynake or lvl 10 Cynake soul helps for farming them.
  296.
  297. - Shadow Venoct is often logical when you get it from the crank, despite having a healing technique. Logical is a good attitude for it, and it cannot be made logical from a book, so think twice before changing its attitude. Helpful is basically just as good.
  298.
  299. Q) How do I farm for EXP?
  300. A) Use the abilities of lie-in and/or draggie, and use one of the farming strategies below. Lie-in and draggie both give 20% exp and both stack (note: you can stack as many lie-in and draggie as you want.) Postgame you can also craft a Smashibull soul which also gives +20% exp, see "Soulcery?" There is also a weather condition that increases the difficulty and EXP gained from battles significantly called "Yo-kai Warning."
  301.
  302. - Popping a wisp has a chance to give a double EXP bonus (triple if gold wisp.)
  303. What it looks like:
  304. http://imgur.com/a/tjQ7m
  305.
  306. 1) During the main story: Just fight the highest level random encounters you can. Pick an area where yo-kai are walking around so you can skip the watch minigame before the battle. End it quickly, repeat.
  307.
  308. 2) Early to midgame you can also farm Daiz: A rare spawn in Mt. Wildwood, he will drop 1K+ exp. However, this quickly becomes obsolete since random encounters later in the story regularly drop 1K+ exp (say, around A rank.)
  309.
  310. 3) Postgame you can farm the final boss for 5K+ exp. If your yo-kai have defense above 90 or so, you can also farm "Super lucky!" on it as follows. (1) Repeat the fight until you get a gold EXP wisp. Then, try to avoid doing any more damage by targeting appendages. Let it inspirit you, and then repeatedly cancel purifications with B until you get "Super lucky!" Each super lucky will give 6K exp (the triple exp bonus goes on top of the "exp bonus" displayed on the super lucky!)
  311.
  312. Q) How do I get more Dancing Stars?
  313. A) Probably the most consistent method is to do online battles. Each star costs 200 bp at the Official BP Shop, found from the Battles app.
  314.
  315. - You get BP whether you win or lose an online battle.
  316.
  317. Q) How do I get blasters tags?
  318. A) Probably the best way is online battles, see "How do I get more Dancing Stars?"
  319.
  320. Q) How do I find the soba bike guy?
  321. A) He appears randomly during clear days at the locations listed below. Once every time he spawns, he will drop his soba and you can steal one off the ground. His spawn point appears to change based on the in-game day, so go to sleep if you can't find him. He will respawn if you reload the area.
  322.
  323. (Shopper's row) circling clockwise the block immediately below the two doughnut shops. Spawns immediately.
  324. (Uptown springdale) spawns from top left of the map, coming over the bridge from Blossom Heights. Spawns after ~ 30 seconds.
  325. (San Fantastico) circling counterclockwise east of ocean beach
  326.
  327. Q) How do I find the roving oden stall?
  328. A) Oden is sold on a roving stall open only on clear nights. It appears randomly in one of the locations listed below, and it can be staffed by either a regular employee or Master Oden. If it is Master Oden, he will give you a quest to complete, unless you have completed all three of his quests. Completing all three quests unlocks the ability to buy the best oden (it's cheap too - just 3$) and Master Oden will befriend you.
  329.

  347. - The quickest way to find the stall is to go into each of the 5 areas and drag the minimap around until you see a green vendor symbol or a blue flag (if it's Master Oden and you haven't done all three quests) in a spot that seems out of place.
  348.
  349. - Remember that the stall only appears on clear nights. If you have trouble finding it, just sleep to the next night.
  350.
  351. Master Oden's quests require you to find (1) 3 Steppa soul gems (2) 3 Mochismo soul gems and (3) 3 Robbinyu soul gems.
  352. - Steppa can be found in the cave on the east side of San Fantastico.
  353. - Mochismo can be found in the second floor of the elementary school at night. Go into rooms and repeatedly fail the minigame until you have three of the tofu bros.
  354. - Robbinyu evolves from Peckpocket at lvl 23. Peckpocket can be found in alleys and under cars in Uptown Springdale, among other places.

  356. Q) Soulcery?
  357. A) Once you unlock soulcery, you can turn yo-kai into soul gems which are equips that give some benefits.
  358.

  364. * Note there is an error in the above link, Boyclops + Faysoff soul impacts all yo-kai on the field
  365.
  366. - tl;dr you can change the element of your attacks and techniques, plus the following highlights:
  367. 1) Befriending : Get you a superstar soul!
  368. -- It increases befriending rates just like the popularity skill, sadly it doesn't stack with popularity - but it frees up a spot on your team for a different yo-kai. Instructions below.
  369. 2) Drop rates : Get you a level 10 Cynake soul!
  370. -- A level 10 Cynake soul and Cynake's skill both increase item drop rates by ~15%. They stack. When spenp farming with both, the drop rate of silver dolls goes up to ~12%, see "How do I make money?" below.
  371. -- Cynake can be caught in boxes on the right side of Ocean beach in San Fantastico. Might as well use all the spenps you'll catch from spenp farming to level up a Cynake soul to level 10.
  372. 3) EXP, Money drops : Don't bother with soul gems, but maybe Smashibull's is worth it.
  373. -- A level 10 High Gnomey soul only increases money by ~7%. Consider that High Gnomey's skill gives 30% money.
  374. -- A level 7 Pinkipoo soul only increases EXP by 7%. Consider that lie-in gives 20% exp.
  375. -- Smashibull soul gives 20% more EXP at level 10, which is the same as Lie-in's skill.
  376. -- EXP / Money skills and soul gems all stack.
  377. 4) Tanking : Get you a Stinging soul!
  378. -- All enemies will focus attack on the holder, without any negative consequence like the comparable sticker of hate!
  379. -- Recipe is Dazzabel soul + Leadoni soul
  380. --- Dazzabel is found at second floor gourd pond museum (night)
  381. --- Leadoni is found at jumbo slider or Mt. Wildwood Trail.
  382. 5) (Dubiously) Useful for tanking : Get you a Stubborn soul, and the tank will only guard!
  383. -- Stinging soul is way more important, and tanks with the "Blocker" skill don't need this
  384. -- Swelton is a tank that can use both Stubborn soul + Stinging soul
  385. -- Recipe is Scarasol soul + Impass soul
  386. --- Impass evolves from noway at lvl 29
  387. ---- Noway are found in an alleyway in Uptown springdale on the right immediately before entering Mt. Wildwood.
  388. --- Scarasol is the fusion of pallysol and mad mountain and can also be got from a Cheerful coin
  389. ---- Mad mountain can be found at Fullface rock (present),
  390. ---- Pallysol can be found in an alleyway in Uptown Springdale (past), tucked away in the middle of the dense housing
  391. 6) Weak to a particular element? Consider a Surrender soul!
  392. -- All elemental attacks will be null element, a net win for you if you can't take a particular element's hits
  393. -- Recipe is Boyclops + Faysoff soul (both are version exclusive)
  394. 7) Useful for PvP if you have an offensive team : Consider a Sinister Soul!
  395. -- Make all healers 1/2 as effective!
  396. -- Recipe is N'more + Furdinand soul
  397. 8) (Dubiously) Useful for PvP: Slippery soul lets you move the wheel despite nosirs.
  398. -- Same as Swelton's ability
  399. -- ONLY cancels out nosirs, e.g. Bosses are unaffected
  400. -- Recipe is Mirapo + Swelton soul
  401. --- Extra mirapo can be caught in the yo-kai world, liar mountain
  402. --- Make a throwaway save if you want more sweltons.
  403. 9) Useful for PvP: Crit rate up souls.
  404. -- High crit-damage -kai such as Shogunyan benefit the most
  405. -- Demuncher, Devourer, or Gleam soul are the best choices (Pricey souls!)
  406. 10) Useful for PvP: Crit damage up souls.
  407. -- High crit-rate -kai such as Gleam benefit the most
  408. -- Ake, Payn, Jibakoma, Count Cavity, and Shogunyan all give this soul (so use Ake!)

  413. - The superstar soul can be created as soon as you have rank C watch. Step-by-step guide:
  414. 1) Catch a shmoopie in downtown springdale
  415. 2) Catch an illoo in Harrisfield
  416. 3) Use the illoo on the spot outside the office in downtown springdale to access floor 4
  417. 4) Catch a cupistol on floor 4
  418. 5) Buy a love scepter from jungle hut, fuse with shmoopie to get pinkipoo
  419. 6) Soulcery the cupistol and the pinkipoo to soul gems, and then add the cupistol sould TO the pinkipoo soul.
  420. 7) Enjoy the moderately higher catch rate as long as super star soul is equipped.
  421.
  422. Q) How do I level up a soul gem to 10?
  423. A) Definitely the fastest way is craft a bunch of rare souls, as 5 or 6 stinging souls should get you to level 10, see "Soulcery?"
  424.
  425. - Alternatively, if you are going to use regular souls there is a bonus for using the same tribe. Some reccommended somewhat-easy-to-befriend yo-kai:
  426. (Eerie) Droplette/Slush in the underground
  427. (Shady) Leadoni in Jumbo Slider
  428. (Slippery) Spenps under cars in Shopper's row (See Spenp farming)
  429. (Heartful) Happieres in old springdale
  430.
  431. - Higher level yo-kai lead to higher-level soul gems, which in turn power up soul gems more - but this is almost unnoticable. Even a level 99 yo-kai converts to a level 4 gem, which will still give you less than a rare soul does.
  432.
  433. Q) How do I get all the fish in the sea from San Fantastico?
  434. A) You need to do the quest from the guy with the boat at the Wharf, and then he'll take you out.
  435.
  436. - If you inspect the water in the boat, cancel out, and inspect again, you'll see the same fish. However, you can throw bait and the baited fish will change every inspection.
  437. - An alternative is to catch _all_ the fish there, and then when you inspect again you'll get a fresh batch of fish.
  438.
  439. === Crank-a-kai related
  440.
  441. Q) Crank-a-kai ?
  442. A) You can use coins to get Crank-a-kai exclusive yo-kai. You can crank between 3 and 10 coins a day (the limit is randomly generated each day,) the number of cranks left is displayed at the bottom of the screen after you hit X. The sequence of results from each coin is fixed when you create a new save file (but see below for past-present detail.)
  443.
  444. -!! There is a baffle board near Eddie's house that you can summon High Gnomey on to give you an extra crank every day. See image.
  445. http://imgur.com/a/e9Odc
  446.
  447. - As far as we know, abusing the Crank-a-kai by changing the system time is PATCHED in YW2. The game will LOCK YOU OUT of using some features, such as the crank-a-kai, for 48 hours if it detects a system time change.
  448.
  449. - Possible results for various coins (In Japanese but you can use it just by the pictures)
  450. https://youkai-pedia.com/yw2/belongings?type=%E3%82%AC%E3%82%B7%E3%83%A3%E3%82%B3%E3%82%A4%E3%83%B3
  451.
  452. - You can visit the Crank-a-kai in the past or the present. The past crank-a-kai gives a different sequence of results for colored coins as well as some of the special coins (5 star coin, and some others.) The two sequences are unrelated - so if your first 5 star coin is X in the past and Y in the present, you can get both X and Y with two five star coins.
  453.
  454. Q) Select-a-coin ?
  455. A) The select-a-coin you get early in the game allows you to get one of Manjimutt, Tattletale, and Roughraff. These become tradable only after the story completes. An alternative is to pass them on via streetpass, as the streetpass-caught copies can be traded.
  456.
  457. - You can make the streetpass work with 2 3DS's and 1 cart.
  458.
  459. - You need all three to unlock dandoodle.
  460.
  461. Q) Select-a-coin + ?
  462. A) You can get three Select-a-coin + from Mr. E. tucked away just a bit right of the Mt. Wildwood Shrine, as long as you played YW1. To do so, take a YW cam photo in YW1, save it to your SD card, and then visit Mr. E within 2 hours (the photo has to be "fresh".) He will give you a Select-a-coin +, which you can then crank. You can repeat this using a fresh photo. Some have reported getting multiple coins in a row, while some say you have to wait a real-time day between getting each coin.

Run on 2x speed and you should be able to keep up with the video, so scanning these 20+ coins should take you around 5 minutes.
