99.
 100.
Pre-Battle Coverage

 101. Times are dire, but one thing in your life remains a constant. As the sun fades from the sky, you find the safest place you can, pull your radio close to your chest, and whisper tonight's codeword. Godric. With a faint buzz, the radio comes to life, and you hear a reassuringly familiar voice humming into your ear....

 102.
 103.
 104. Welcome back, Potterwatch listeners! I am Codename Claws, here to update you about the recent skirmishes we've been reporting on. I'm afraid I have a few more disappearances to report on, most disturbingly coming from Hogwarts itself. It seems that a few Death Eaters were able to breach the castle's perimeter and take a few students from their beds in the dead of night! First years Emily, Claire, and Cherie have been reported missing by the Headmistress. Ravenclaw and Gryffindor Heads Miche and Alex were seen in pursuit of a cloaked figure, most likely trying to recover their stolen students, before being Stunned and abducted themselves. Auror Pemily was called in to investigate, but her superior reported early this morning that she missed her check-in time and is assumed captured as well. I have been told that another Ministry worker by the name of Kayla is also presumed missing, but if someone informed me what her precise job was... I must have forgotten.

 105.
 106. Now it is important to remember when searching for these individuals that they are presumed to be taken under duress, but there is always a chance that they have joined the Death Eaters of their own accord. After all, someone had to drop the wards on the castle. We are lucky that this was simply an abduction and not an attack-- things could have been far worse.

 107.
 108. Some Order of the Phoenix members are working on a rescue mission as we speak. (Well, as I speak.) The castle's residents are not taking this one lying down! Hufflepuff Prefect Kai and Slytherin Prefect Allie have teamed up to recover their Gryffindor and Ravenclaw counterparts, no matter what it takes. Professor Katy and Jen have offered their years of knowledge to keep the younger volunteers safe, and Hospital Matron Laney is coming along to heal any injuries accrued along the way. (But don't let her knowledge of the Hospital Wing fool you-- she's not one to mess with!) Third year Slytherin Steph is the Order's youngest volunteer, but with the experience of the rest of the group, she's in good hands. Their side is rounded out by Paige, dropping her title as Head of the Department of Magical Law Enforcement to serve up some vigilante justice.

 121. My apologies for the delay in the match starting. We needed to find a new secure location, since our original planned location was raided. You all know me as Howler, and I will be joined shortly by Paws and Bandit. There isn't time before the match, so I am not going to bore you with recapping the mysterious happenings at Hogwarts. But, keep in mind, we still don't know what is happening with or the reasoning behind all the missing Students, Prefects and Heads of House, and even some Ministry officials. Is it foul play, a misunderstanding, or (as some 'credible' journalist in the Daily Prophet have reported) a ploy by Headmistress Kim to take over the Ministry.
 122.

123.
 124. Ok, before the match is begins I better let you know who is in it. Representing the Order of the Phoenix are Chasers Jen, Kai, and Allie. These are talented players that work well together, so let's expect some great things from them. The Keeper is Katy, known for her quick reflexes. The Beaters are Paige and Laney -- these two show no fear, so best not get in their way. And, last but never least, is a fairly new player; Steph is quickly making a name for herself in the Quidditch scene as the team's Seeker.
 125.

126.
 127. Now, the Death Eaters... I don't know where to begin. These are (or should it be "were"?) close colleagues and students that we all know and love(d). The Chasers are Emily, Cherie, and Pemily. These three have never played together (that I know of) before so we will see if they can come together and score. In a surprising position, Miche is the Keeper. Maybe her strength as a former Beater with prove to be helpful as a Keeper. The Beaters here are Alex and Claire; an interesting choice here, as Alex is a veteran Beater. It seems we will see her taking the lead here and sharing her knowledge and experience with rookie Claire. Now, this is going to come as a shock to some of you but the Seeker for the Death Eaters is Kayla. I, for one, am in shock by the current situation that is happening around all of us.
 128.

129.
 130. So I am now seeing Claws walk on to the field to begin the match.
 131.

132.
 133. Wow, I don't think I have ever seen two Seekers shoot off as far away from each other as possible before. Either Kayla and Steph have plans up their respective sleeves, or they are planning to methodically search for the elusive snitch and not watch each other.

 134.
 135. Paige is the first to come in contact with a bludger, and man, she has a powerful hit on her. Pity that it flew miles from anyone that she needed to hit. But Laney is now speeding towards it.

 136.
 137. Alex, on the other hand, seems to be trying to coach Claire so much that she actually missed hitting the bludger. Good thing Claire made contact and it shot straight for Jen. It connected with Jens leg just as she was going to throw the quaffle. She ended up throwing it straight at Miche, who flawless caught it and threw it to Pemily.

 138.
 139. Pemily is now racing down the pitch. Are we going to see the first goal of the match? ...No, Laney hits a bludger with such accuracy that it knocks the quaffle clear out of Pemilys grasp and straight into Allies.

 140.
 141. Now it is a race back to the other side. There is some nice teamwork, perfect passing back and forth, between Allie and Kai. Allie takes her shot and scores!

 142.
 143. The points are now Order: 15, Death Eaters: 0... but I wouldn't count them out yet! Emily has the quaffle, and - wow, that speed - it doesn't look like anyone can catch her! Let's hope Katy is going to be able stop her.

 144.
 145. ...Alas, she wasn't. Emily has scored and tied the game up 15 apiece. The Quaffle is back to Kai now, but what a nice interception by Cherie! She's heading back to -- wait, Kai has it again! He's passing it to Jen... and now to Allie... and now back to Kai... and back to Jen... and back to Kai and… Kai scores, bringing it to Order 30 vs Death Eaterss 15!

 146.
 147. The speed and dexterity of the Order's Chasers have the Death Eaters Chasers looking a bit frazzled but, Emily has it again and is heading to score another goal! The opposing team's Chasers start closing on on her, so she does a quick pass to Cherie, who scores! The match is tied at 30 each!
 148.

FEB. 3RD COVERAGE BY HOWLER

 149.
 150.
 151. So it seems that both Seekers had the same idea and are getting closer and closer to each other. Neither Kayla nor Steph seem to be concerned with the match, and I don't think either have blinked since it began. The concentration of both is commendable.

 152.
 153.
 154. Wait... what is happening with the Beaters? We must have missed something, as neither are trying to stop any Chasers. Paige and Alex are having a standoff, hitting the Bludgers at each other and completely missing. Laney and Claire are able to catch up with the Bludgers so they can do the same... Folks, I don't think we will ever see that again in perfect synchronization! They both get hit with a Bludger and knocked from their brooms. Luckily, both were close to the ground, so no damage done... but comical nonetheless.

 155.
 156. Kai scores quickly, but the Quaffle is taken by Emily to score on her side. Jen has managed to get it next, and, in a quick turnaround, scores her first goal for the match! Pemily grabs the Quaffle and scores her first goal as well. Allies turn to try and... yes! She scores, too! Cherie is the next to get the Quaffle and races off to score her second goal of the match. I don't think Katy or Miche know what to do with themselves at the moment. Its like watching a game of tennis here. Tennis is a Muggle sport where they use a racket to hit a ball back and forth, over and o--wait... why am I explaining this? You have no interest in that.
 157.

 158.
 159. Back to the match, we are currently tied at 75 each. Emily is the first to get her hands back on the Quaffle. You can see her talent as she scores her third goal, making it Order 75 vs Death Eaters 90. Allie grabs the Quaffle and starts to head down the Pitch, but Steph seems to be frantically searching and flying around quickly, almost knocking Allie from her broom. Pemily manages to benefit from the sudden intrusion and grabs the Quaffle quickly.

 160.
 161. Unfortunately for Pemily, she doesn't have it for long. Kai suddenly snatches the Quaffle out of her hands and races away. It takes Pemily a second to realize what happened. You won't see anyone as quick Kai. Perfect aim as he scores his third goal of the match! The scores are tied again at 90 each.

 162.
 163. Cherie has got the Quaffle now. It is such a pleasure to watch a team that flies so in sync with one another, like they are all connected. One slight turn, and they all turn together. Cherie quickly passes to Emily and Katy shoots over to defend the goal from her... but she passes it back to Cherie for her third score of the match! Katy takes a deep breath and steels herself.

 164.
 165.
 166. ...and a surprising turn of events! Laney suddenly spins as she hits a Bludger, connecting with Kayla but doesn't manage to knock her of the broom! She has been quite rattled by the hit. Let's see if she recovers quickly. We are now at Order 90 vs Death Eaters 105.

 167.
 168. ...Actually, no, wait Jen is almost at the goal! Miche shoots right instead of left and Jen scores, once again tying the match up! Order 105 vs Death Eaters 105!
 169.

 170.
 171.
 172. Look at the time! I am Howler -- thank you for listening. I am signing off for now. Paws will be taking over this broadcast.

 173. There's a shuffling sound, followed by a muffled bark. Silence ensues.

 193.
quidditch: the order vs. death eaters

 194.
 195. This Quidditch event will be unlike our normal Hogwarts-based matches. As Harry, Ron, and Hermione continue with their Horcrux hunting, skirmishes between the Order of the Phoenix and Death Eaters are taking place all around Europe. Thanks to the commentators at Potterwatch, we can follow these episodes when they take to the skies. Who will prevail when the battles are complete?

 196.
 197. The way Patronus Quidditch works, no dexterity is needed at all. Our matches will be probability (and just a touch of luck) based. Before each match begins, the team members of the playing teams must send in their "moves" for each day of the match! Each position has a different kind of move that must be done each day. The positions and their moves are described below.

All team members must send their moves to Jess before the matches begin! If any member has not sent in their moves before the deadline, the match will go on without that player's contribution, and their position will pick back up once they do send in that neomail. Your moves may be sent in at any time before the deadlines! Getting them in before the first match begins ensures that each match will run smoothly.
 198.

 201.
 202.

BEATERS: Your job, of course, is to try to distract the other team from the game by hitting Bludgers at them with your bat! To do so, you may choose any of the four members of the other team per move (but never the same player two moves in a row!) to hit your Bludger at! There will be a 33% chance of it hitting them. If it does hit them, their move for the day does not get to be done.
 203.
 204.

 205.
 206.
 207.
CHASERS: You are going up against the other team's Keepers! There'll be a 66% chance of you scoring a goal. If you do, you will earn 15 Quidditch Points for your team! For each move, you will choose one of the three goal posts to shoot the Quaffle into: 1, 2, or 3. The Keepers will each be protecting one of them at all times. If you happened to choose one that neither of the other team's Keepers did not protect for any of the moves (and you weren't hit by a Bludger), you have made that goal!
 208.
 209.

 211.
 212.
KEEPERS: Two of you are going up against the other team's two Chasers! For each move, you will protect one of the three goal posts for your team. Do that by sending in one number (1, 2, or 3) when you send in your neomail with all your moves. If a Chaser happens to shoot the Quaffle into a goal post that you weren't blocking during that move, they score for their team! For example, if you protect 1 and they shoot into 2, they score - but if they choose 1, nothing happens! If you are hit by a Bludger, all 3 goal posts are open for that move.
 213.
 214.

 215.
 216.
 217. SEEKERS: This is probably the more complicated of the positions, but it's easy for you! Your job, if you haven't guessed it, is to catch the Golden Snitch! The Snitch will be flying all over the Quidditch Pitch, which is broken down into a scale of 1-16. For each move, you'll be searching one of the numbered areas for the Snitch. It will be in a completely random area for each move. You will be earning Snitch Points (0, 1, 2, or 3) for each move -- the closer you are, the higher you score! If you're hit by a Bludger, you do not get to search any cell for that move.

The Seeker with the most Snitch Points at the end of the match will be the one who actually caught the Snitch and ended the game, earning 50 Quidditch Points for their team!
